Android :: Favorite Application So Far
Oct 27, 2008I would have to say that locale is my favorite app so far. I had some trouble with it being inconsistent last week, but now it seems to be running smoothly. I'm saving battery power by having it turn off my WiFi settings while I'm at work, during work hours. The second best would have to be Bonsai Blast, which is a more complicated and challenging game than I expected.

Jun 22, 2010I finally have hardware working the way I like it at home (stereo inputs), at the office and gym (bluetooth headphones), and in the car (aux input or bluetooth to head unit). Now I'm ready to pay for an ad free music streaming app. The problem is deciding which one to get. I've messed around with the free versions of Pandora, Slacker and TuneWiki as well as FlyCast for streaming FM stations. I'm not crazy about the latter two as I prefer to create a customized "station" that plays exactly the music I'm in the mood for. I've also used Grooveshark on the computer, but I have no idea how good the Android app is without a Lite version to test.
Pandora, Slacker and Grooveshark charge roughly $3/month for ad-free music. I'm curious to know what others think about the various services, or one I have not mentioned. I don't mind paying for a good app, but I can't justify paying for all of them when one should suffice. So what's your preference? A reason besides "It's the best" would be an added bonus.

Nov 16, 2010If you open Marketplace then press the menu key then downloads, you will go straight to all apps on your phone and all that have updates will be listed first. I found it by accident and saw I had 40 apps with updates.

Sep 3, 2010I am a 2 day old Android user coming from Windows Mobile (since the PPC-6600), I am getting the following message when I receive a txt message using of the out of box messaging application. I am using a brand new Sprint EPIC 4G.The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I did some google searching and the best I could find was clearing the cache and program data from the mail applicatoin. It isn't working either, none of the fixes apply.I also tried installing "Handcent" and it does not appear to be working either. I am not showing any messages in any programs and can only tell I have a txt message if I review the "notifications" from here I can send a response but thats it.

Nov 8, 2010I have the epic 4g obviously. I live in a 3g area. Using wifi or 3g i am unable to get this app to stream games, i've tried redownloading the app and such. I used to be able (just weeks ago) to get this to work on my moment phone, it didnt work well but at least it worked. with the epic i get nothing streaming.

Nov 29, 2010I have had my Epic for 10 days now and have swapped it once for this problem. If I power off the phone to save battery life or change battery, when I power up again the app and contact shortcuts I had placed on the home/extended pages have disappeared (the widgets are still there). The apps and data are still there in the apps folder, but it is a pain having to pull my most commonly used ones back to the home pages each time I restart the phone. Sprint tech have remotely rebooted the phones and we have taken both phones back to factory settings several times but the problem always recurs. As I have now had 2 phones with the same problem I am presuming it is a software glitch. Sprint have been less than helpful to date, other than basic resets and changing the phone. Has anyone else had this issue?

Nov 18, 2010Has anyone experienced the sudden exit from an application or browser? It happens intermittantly on my phone where it will suddenly exit out with a vibration or two and return to main page. This has happened infrequently but many times in the past couple weeks.

Sep 2, 2010Is there any way to change the four main icons (I'm not sure what to call it) that appear at the bottom on every page? I downloaded Handcent to use for my SMS because I like the way it looks better, etc. But I wish I could just remove the "Messaging" and replace it with Handcent so that I have access to it from every page instead of having to click on the Handcent App every time.

Nov 24, 2010My Samung Epic 4g was working fine until I plugged in the charger and it WOULD NOT CHARGE. tried another charger, nothing. Tested outlet, yes, it provides electric. So I turned off the Epic and IT WILL NOT TURN ON. Took battery out for a while, put it back in nothing.
