I love my Captivate, but I've been having issues with my text messages. When I receive a text, it says I got it a few hours before, which is annoying because the text messages are not in chronological order.... I'm using an AT&T Captivate on Rogers Canada network.

I have had my captivate for a couple weeks now and everything has been great. All of a sudden today I stopped receiving text messages. I can send them just fine. Nothing incoming though. I checked the max per thread and all that stuff.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like my phone to vibrate when I receive a text or email while it is in vibrate mode. It only does so when a call is being received. I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

It doesn't seem to be tied to the volume rocker as I still get announcements when set to completely mute.
Is there anyway to set my captivate to only check emails between certain hours? I had this on another phone and its a nice feature for when you are asleep.
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird problem but when my calendar syncs it syncs all the events but they are all several hours later than they are on my Google Calendar on my computer. I'm looking at my phone and my computer right now, and all the events are here except all events on my phone are pushed back. Any ideas?

Right now if I am using my phone for browsing, video, etc. it will run the battery from full charge to dead in just under 4 hours. If I just leave the phone turned on but with no apps running (standby) it runs out of power in roughly 48 hours. Is this the battery life I should expect from this phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
So recently I havE had people tell me they tried calling me but the phone never rang or said I missed a call. I get the voice mail if they leave one but no signs of then calling besides that. I love my captivate but I have trouble sending and receiving pic messages too. I've never had any other problems either. Anyone know what may cause this? If its the phone will they replace it for free?

I am able to send and rec sms through google voice and my new GV # but I can only send sms from my att number. I cannot receive any sms from my att number and people who are sending them do not get any kind of message they just get lost in the network somewhere. People in general and my boss are getting mad because they think I am just ignoring them.

Whenever I receive a text message, the phone goes black, locks, the ANDROID screen then displays and the phone goes back to normal but begins looking for service. I can send pictures just fine, but when I receive them, the picture doesn't pop up in the text conversation like normal, it leaves a link to "download" the image. I click download and an error message pops up stating that the process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly and shuts down.

When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

However, I prefer the Samsung keyboard and swype over android keyboard for actual typing. is there a way to invoke speech-to-text on the other keyboards as well?
