Not sure if this is an Android setting or a ChompSMS setting but does anyone know how to turn off the voice announcement when I receive a txt message?
It doesn't seem to be tied to the volume rocker as I still get announcements when set to completely mute.

i have my captivate, and i checked the box to vibrate when i receive a text message. however, it only lights up and no vibration occurs.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using a samsung capitvate on ATT. Android 2.1 I installed google voice and created a google voice account. I am able to send and rec sms through google voice and my new GV # but I can only send sms from my att number. I cannot receive any sms from my att number and people who are sending them do not get any kind of message they just get lost in the network somewhere. People in general and my boss are getting mad because they think I am just ignoring them.

So I've had my Samsung Moment on Sprint for 2 days now and a problem started happening today. Whenever I receive a text message, the phone goes black, locks, the ANDROID screen then displays and the phone goes back to normal but begins looking for service. I have no clue why this is happening but it's really annoying.

I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

However on the DroidX, the keyboard looks identical, but it does have the mic. Can we download a new version of swype that has this enabled. I like swype but want to be able to talk to my phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

If anyone out there know a downloadable link for a good one please post it. 1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.

I get the normal 1 and now a another 1 saying new message(s) which will clear if i click. Also my text message ringtone plays twice also. I use SMS popup as well, but i have been using that for at least 3 months with no problems.
