I just noticed my live wallpaper doesn't have that perpective scrolling effect anymore. It's it a rom setting? Nova isn't doing this effect either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a unlocked unbranded brand new milestone I got couple days ago and it came with 2.0 firmware.So it installed no problems but compared to my nephews droid 2.1 from verizon his has the live wallpaper like mine does, but on his when you hit the screen of the live wallpaper you see the ripple effect but on my I dont.
Also Mines missing the speecn to text also, I dotn see a microphone icon in the virtual keyboard when in a text field, also when he holds the search button at the bottom a speak now command comes up for you to say something, anyone know why Im missing these?
should be getting my Dinc here in a couple days and was making a couple wallpapers to get ready. My one question is i seen the post hat say the resolution or size is 960wx800h but is that just for the main screen and that will scroll to all 7 pages what i was wondering if not, what does the width of a picture have to be to scroll the total of the 7 pages, like i have a long width wise wallpaper and wanted to make it expand to a diff image on each page. sorry for the trouble and if the 960 already covered that,

Even if I put a photo on my phone at the right resolution for the screen, it makes me crop it to fit the phone for home screen scrolling. Sometimes I like that, but sometimes I just want the apps/widgets to pull over without the picture moving.

But when I go to the lockscreen wallpaper in settings, it only allows me to choose a few OEM wallpapers. How can I get the apex wallpaper onto the lock screen?This is a minor annoyance, but is there a way I can theme the top of my phone where it tells me the time/cell signal to look like stock ICS? The touchwiz icons are really big and don't look that great, while taking up a lot of space.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using HTC Desire S for about 2 yrs now, but since I am not a power user, I just use it as it came. Now considering to root it and was looking more closely at things and I see there are many services running in the background under "Running".
I don't know the inner workings of Android system, so would like to know if more services are running (especially from apps which I don't regularly use) then does it effect battery life and does it make the phone slower ?
For example under Calendar, 4 services are running - AutoSettingService, ImmediateModeService, DashboardService,ConnecttoPcService.
Google Maps has TrafficAppWidgetUpdateService and PrefetcherService ( I rarely use Google maps because I use offline rmaps)
Another thing is I have a prepaid connection without a data plan so I would like to control which apps connect to the net when i switch on 3G - i mean I would prefer if only the app which I want to use the data should use it, while others should not.
And there are some things taking data, which i don't really understand - but since they are related to Android system I am not sure whether to try to restrict them (Android System, HTC Function test, HTC Checkin service, Settings storage, VPN, Status bar, Bluetooth, Google backpp transport, etc, Phone, Dialer Storage, SIM toolkit)
Any general idea about these services - battery and network usage and effect on responsiveness ?
My OEM's preloaded rom is almost-nearly stock, apart from 2 things:
1. White background on "system settings" interface and not the default holo. Cant that be changed to default?
2. Ribbon effect instead of flash-light in holo effect, which tbh is quite annoying, because the ribbon effect is also quite large and in slower animation speed so that,s 1 second of frustation everytime i scroll to the end. (Yea, 1 second isnt much but, add those up and it gets annoying really fast)
How can these be changed back to default without installing a custom rom?
Since I've been using the cm 10 and 10.1 based roms (4.1.x and 4.2.x, respectively) I've noticed the DSP Manager or Awesome beats audio effects randomly stop effecting the sound. It was noted here:

That pausing and playing the audio player will re-enable the EQ effects. I normally use Google Music on the HTC Rezound running a variant of CM10.1 (4.2.2) but others have stated other devices and are doing this as well.
I just played with it by force closing the DSP manager process while listening to music. This did not in and of itself stop the EQ effects. Once I reopened the DSP manager app and again stop/start or pause played the effect was re enabled. Simply restarting the DSP manager app did not re enable the effect.
Is there that option? I like all the other features but I can't find that option... If not tho I'm going back to Add Launcher.

the market is full of nonsense apps that are clones of other useless apps or just junk that no one cares about... it would be cool to have more tools to customize our systems!

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen scrolling a list, homescreens or whatever, the moving object shimmers against the background, especially if there's a high contrast and a sharp edge between them. The effect ranges from mild (stock 2.3.5 Samsung Galaxy S I, Cyanogen 7.2 LG GT540, stock 2.3.5 LG P920 that I have at home and tested) to noticeable (Dell Streak 5, all the ROMs I tried so far, a few stock and a few custom, including MIUI). Since the Dell exhibits a reduced effect with LauncherPro, I'm guessing it's a software issue, a type of graphics acceleration that can be enabled globally, but isn't on this phone in any of the ROMs I tried. What's it called, and is there a line for it in build.prop, or something that can be added? I remember there was a hardware acceleration switch that could be enabled/disabled with the Blade Buddy app on some phones a while ago, but I downloaded the app on the Dell and the switch isn't there any more.

Although I don't have any issues while using apps or playing games, sometimes when I scroll through my home screens it kinda jerks back and stays on the same screen as if I had not swiped it properly or something. I'm not sure if it's because I am so used to my phone which does not take as much effort or if this is an actual problem.

-Widget will automatically slideshow from selected drawers at a set interval (with random as option)
-You can scroll through the photos by swiping, preferrably seamless (with launcher that allows scrollable widgets I guess) so you can scroll really quick
-Clicking a picture will bring you its source
Would this be possible (or is there such a widget already)?

I currently have Lightning Launcher, which is great by the way, but I can only set it up so that the entire screen scrolls. I was thinking it would be nice for have a spot on the left side of the screen for favorite apps and maybe some widgets (I guess you could call it a "dock"), and on the right side of the screen have a scrolling list of the rest of my applications. Probably with 1/3 of the screen being the left portion and 2/3 being the right portion. Can this be done with Lightning Launcher? or any other launcher? and how?
