My wife now has a Captivate, but I'm noticing that she has a hard time with the timing of waking up the phone & the slide to unlock time out. Is their a setting to give the user more time to "unlock" the phone before it goes back to sleep?

I tried searching everywhere for this but all that would come up was lockscreen "wallpapers". I was wondering if theres anyway to change the Slide to unlock to something similar to a droids or nexus ones slide to unlock. If it matters any, I am rooted.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know it may be minor but I wish the my Captivate could edit how times the phone vibrates for calls, sms, calendar etc. I have my phone in my pocket ALL the time and always have it on vibrate cuz i need it that way. maybe someone will create something to edit the vibrate feature.

I looked through all the settings and can't find an option anywhere to turn it back on. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo its been about a month and a half that I've had my captivate. I've had a few problems with the phone and have searched them, I have found most have the same problems but no one gives any answers to what you can do to fix it.
Problems:
.phone restarts at random times until the battery is taken out and put back in
.text messages delete at random times
.phone does not sync with Facebook
.it does not retrieve e-mails
.gets a bit laggy at times for a 1gHz processor
.seems like the side buttons seems a smashed in and do not "click" properly
Does anyone have any answers to these problems?
Also I wanted to do a factory restore so how can I save my files/ contacts/ etc before I do this to see if it fixes any of the problems.
How to backup my phone would be great..
Is there anyway to turn off the slide to unlock so i just simply hit the power button at the top and it awakes straight to the home screen without having to unlock?

What I would like would be to remove that slide down to unlock feature and just have the pattern lock on (with a delay option). But i hate having the slide down to unlock, and then unlock again with a pattern. No way to 1) delay the slide to unlock feature or 2)remove the slide to unlock and only have the pattern lock working?(with a delay feature if possible,say only show up after 2hours has passed) My windows mobile phone had this simple option built in.

However, I would like to configure the phone to use only the hardware button and the lock pattern in order to use the phone, and bypass the 'slide down' process.
I have tried various permutations and addons but to no avail ...
So to recap:
1 - press upper hardware button
2 - enter lock pattern
Any way to remove the unlock slider, so all I need to do is press the top button to access the phone?

Uncheck run in foreground mode if you don't want the icon in the notification bar.It also forgoes the slider if you slide open your keyboard. Notice that if your keyboard is a bit loose, this could cause it to unlock in your pocket.

When I wake my phone up by hitting the power button, the slide to unlock screen no longer shows up, I'm directly at my home screen. View 7 Replies View RelatedNoticed today that when the phone is unlocked with the power/unlock button, that the screen starts off at a significantly lower brightness, but the light sensor seems to then kick in and the correct brightness is then displayed after. This happens for only a fraction of a second, but is quite jerky and immediate.Is this normal, or should the screen brightness remain one constant level from unlock? Of course, changing when it should based on lighting conditions.The same also happens when the screen is about to sleep. Once the lock button is pushed, the screen brightness almost notches down in 2 steps. First at half the brightness, or so, and then off completely. Again, not necessarily smooth, but quite jarring.Again, is this normal of other Captivates?
