I am able to see my Samsung captivate on my PS3 and I am able to play music, pictures and videos from my phone using PS3 on my HDTV. However, I am unable to play contents from PS3 on my phone. When i choose the server to phone option my phone is not detecting PS3. Is there any solution to this problem?

I rooted my Captivate tonight and I know how the superuser icon with android skull and crossbones. However neither Super Manager or ASTRO will allow me to uninstall the crap ware on my phone. Is there something I'm missing? I followed all the steps at XDA. So far I've tried to remove YPMobile, ATT Navigator, and ATT Maps. Any suggestions? I tried searching this on google and this forum but didn't come up with anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAnybody else notice that the SD cards are write protected? If I take out my card and put it in a card reader on my laptop, I can add stuff to the card, but I can't delete anything. If I put it back in the phone and mount the sd card, I can edit the card how I want. weird?

View 5 Replies View Relatedwhenever i add a rom manually and then open up an emulator and click on that rom it just closes back to my homescreen. ive seen several vids on how to do so but it doesn't seem to work. i added a folder on my internal sd card placed roms there and no go. i was able easily add roms on my iphone but still no luck on my captivate.
View 7 Replies View RelatedBasically, something happened, my phone's battery died, and as usual,I just switched in a new battery, turned it on, it went to the splash screen, the glowing S.and then turned off.I tried to charge the phone, that didn't work.I thought the battery might just be dead, so I charged it over night, but nope.After I put a battery in, it does it's usual swoooshhh noise, turns on, S glows, then turns off.Then it won't turn on again until I take out the battery, put it back in, after which I turn on and the same thing again. Just for more information, the screen sticks on the glowing S for a reallllyyy long time, and it doesn't go through the "Turning off" animation anymore either. What's weird is I didn't even do anything at all with it this past week, other than play Angry Birds, call/text some people, and use the alarm on it.No idea what went wrong at all.

The Captivate will play high bitrate video fine and that is awesome, but it would be silly to expect someone to encode a movie in a high bitrate and only use a stereo track.

for the past 2 weeks, everytime i go to the market to upgrade my apps, it doesn't upgrade. it says the app is "starting download" but nothing...also, the notification bar is showing that anything is being downloaded.i also cant download any apps from the market as well...

View 28 Replies View RelatedAlright, I am trying to root a friend's captivate but am unable to get to the recovery screen no matter what I do. We have tried every variation of keys. I have held the power, vup and vdown and let go of the power as soon as we see Att.I have held them all for minutes at a time. We have tried holding one or the other volume keys. No recovery screen.I have also tried using the "one-click" option provided over at xda.I installed the correct drivers, turned on USB Debug, and got no where with the program.I shows that it pushes the "update.zip" file to the sdcard, but does not reboot the phone into recovery to give me the opportunity to apply the update.My friend has tried a couple of different market root options...one called lagfix of something like that.It was a no go either.

I did a factory reset (I'm getting better at this process. Can restore my device back to its former glory within an hour).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot of people getting errors while trying to check for samsung updates on the Captivate. I experienced this as well. I narrowed the problem to various Task Manager apps killing the "Device Management" task that is native to the captivate and launches after each reboot. When this task is killed, you will receive the "DM Initialization Error. Check your network or Sim Card" message every time you try to check for an update. Solution: Reboot and exclude the Device Management process from any of your task killers.

For some reason windows will not let me sync the file through media player or drag and drop.when I drag and drop it just says "windows explorer failed blah blah" and automatically closes.I have .mkv codecs on my computer, the files play seamlessly.Is it because the file size is too big?any ideas?

I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"
I looked at previous threads and could not find an answer for the Capitvate. I would like to listen to music or videos thru my blue tooth headset, It worked on my old samsung eternity, and i am having problems with my cappy.
