whenever i add a rom manually and then open up an emulator and click on that rom it just closes back to my homescreen. ive seen several vids on how to do so but it doesn't seem to work. i added a folder on my internal sd card placed roms there and no go. i was able easily add roms on my iphone but still no luck on my captivate.

I'm kind of new to Android. Only have had this phone for a few weeks,switched over from the iPhone. Anyway, I'm having trouble with Game boy emulators. I loved playing Pokemon on my jailbroken iPhone and would really love to enjoy it on my Captivate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Captivate tonight and I know how the superuser icon with android skull and crossbones. However neither Super Manager or ASTRO will allow me to uninstall the crap ware on my phone. Is there something I'm missing? I followed all the steps at XDA. So far I've tried to remove YPMobile, ATT Navigator, and ATT Maps. Any suggestions? I tried searching this on google and this forum but didn't come up with anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically, something happened, my phone's battery died, and as usual,I just switched in a new battery, turned it on, it went to the splash screen, the glowing S.and then turned off.I tried to charge the phone, that didn't work.I thought the battery might just be dead, so I charged it over night, but nope.After I put a battery in, it does it's usual swoooshhh noise, turns on, S glows, then turns off.Then it won't turn on again until I take out the battery, put it back in, after which I turn on and the same thing again. Just for more information, the screen sticks on the glowing S for a reallllyyy long time, and it doesn't go through the "Turning off" animation anymore either. What's weird is I didn't even do anything at all with it this past week, other than play Angry Birds, call/text some people, and use the alarm on it.No idea what went wrong at all.

- Without jailbreaking, can you get roms on the iphone for free?
- If so how?
- How well does the on screen controller work
- Is the small screen you have to use on the iphone emu an issue?
Also add any feedback you like and your opinion as well. I'm just curious that's all. Hopefully one of you has experience in this field
Alright, so I never had any problems before when I first rooted. But now I can't access some games, setcpu, one click lag fix, titanium backup (which I want to, so I have an extra backup) and a few other programs.

What do I have to do to fix this? It keeps happening and I can't do what I want on my phone. Do I need to install a program to fix it? Or do the odin ROM load to stock and reroot it?
for the past 2 weeks, everytime i go to the market to upgrade my apps, it doesn't upgrade. it says the app is "starting download" but nothing...also, the notification bar is showing that anything is being downloaded.i also cant download any apps from the market as well...

View 28 Replies View RelatedAlright, I am trying to root a friend's captivate but am unable to get to the recovery screen no matter what I do. We have tried every variation of keys. I have held the power, vup and vdown and let go of the power as soon as we see Att.I have held them all for minutes at a time. We have tried holding one or the other volume keys. No recovery screen.I have also tried using the "one-click" option provided over at xda.I installed the correct drivers, turned on USB Debug, and got no where with the program.I shows that it pushes the "update.zip" file to the sdcard, but does not reboot the phone into recovery to give me the opportunity to apply the update.My friend has tried a couple of different market root options...one called lagfix of something like that.It was a no go either.

View 20 Replies View RelatedIt happened to me last night on the Captivate. I tried battery pulls, deleting the WiFi nets, etc., but it still kept turning WiFi off within a minute of turning it on. I did a factory reset (I'm getting better at this process. Can restore my device back to its former glory within an hour).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot of people getting errors while trying to check for samsung updates on the Captivate. I experienced this as well. I narrowed the problem to various Task Manager apps killing the "Device Management" task that is native to the captivate and launches after each reboot. When this task is killed, you will receive the "DM Initialization Error. Check your network or Sim Card" message every time you try to check for an update. Solution: Reboot and exclude the Device Management process from any of your task killers.

For some reason windows will not let me sync the file through media player or drag and drop.when I drag and drop it just says "windows explorer failed blah blah" and automatically closes.I have .mkv codecs on my computer, the files play seamlessly.Is it because the file size is too big?any ideas?

1) Wifi worked great for a while, but now it says unable to scan for networks and turns the wifi off...this wouldn't be too bad if I had a big data plan but I do not.
2) Battery Life...fml
3) I cannot find ANYWHERE any supporting software to sync media files with my PC
4) The drivers will not install on my computer
5) Way too many apps are using data without me even opening them (navigation, yahoo mail etc...) I have AdvAppKiller but that gets old
It is wonderful having such a wonderful, fast device with 16 gb of memory, but these shortcomings are making me realize why I enjoyed a flip phone for so long.
I just got juice defender, Juice plot and Ultimate juice as well. But I am not able to understand the settings. Any help? I know its very basic question and I did google for it...But still not getting it.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo today i was looking at my contacts and i noticed that anyone who has a facebook account and is linked to my contacts, has 5 linked contacts in their info. thos 5 linked contacts all being repeats of the facebook contact. its like each contact is linked to itself 5 times. i tried deleting the extra ones but it says i cannot delete a read only contact and i tried displaying only my phone contacts and disabled contact sync with my facebook account but they are still showing up. any idea of what to do?

I just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?
