1. Can you change the type of lock you use for your phone and set a specific background for that screen?
2. Can you change the background for every screen you use?
3. How do you keep your own backgrounds from coming out pixelated?

I've check Amazon and nada.
Anyone know of a belt holster type case for this phone?
I already have the phone protected with the gel case and a screen protector,
but I dont always wear shirts with pockets and I keep lots of scratchy bits
in my pants pockets, so I'm looking for a case I can clip to my belt.
If anyone knows of a generic one that will house the phone, that would
work too.

I got my phone on Monday and I've noticed that when somebody is talking to me on the phone it causes a vibration type noise. I've tried lowering the volume but it still seems to be doing it. Not to mention, even with the audio turned all the way up it's hard to hear the people I'm talking to.

how to apply to lag fix by partitioning my sd card. I followed the guide to the t using Paragon Hard Disk Manager. When I deleted my external SD card partition, it wouldn't let me re-partition it. Now my computer won't even recognize my phone. When I go into settings->SD card and phone storage, both the internal and external SD card show "Unavailable" under the space heading. The unmount and format options are greyed out as well. What do I need to do to get my phone back the way it was? I would just like my phone back the way it was and would like to get this lag fix working. Here are the video tutorials I followed and the original site I found. I need to be able to get Internet in a remote area. I barely get a signal now on the captivate, if I stand on my head and rub my tummy at the same time.
Since I don't think there's a way to add an external higher gain antenna to the Captivate, I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck taking the SIM card out of the captivate and using it in a 3G USB device with any sort of an external antenna?

When I look at the settings and "SD card and phone storage" option I see the different types of storage. Based on what I see, please verify the following assumptions are correct. The external SD card is obviously the one I added. I assume it can be used to store media files (via USB, direct write on a PC, etc.). I read until Froyo we won't be able to install apps on this card.
The internal SD card is what is built into the phone for apps and other things those apps write to the phone.
Looks like Google Listen writes to this area (can't make it write to the external SD and not sure why). It appears that the only things writing to there are my camera and of course any music, pics, or videos I load on there directly. Nothing else seems to make use of it. The internal phone storage is for things like the OS and is pretty much off limits. When I go into the "My Files" app on the phone it dumps me into the home directory which happens to be /sdcard. I assume this is the internal SD card? Under that directory it also has "/sd" which appears to be my external SD card. Why would they make it look like "/sd" is a subdirectory of "/sdcard" when it's not?

I have the phone for about 2 weeks now, with 3-4 hours daily use. In the middle of a call this morning, it went silent and when turned on again, it displayed "SIM card removed. Reboot phone". I took the card out and put back in 3 times, but it still happens. Wi-Fi is working, phone is still running apps. I tried to press the SIM card tightly while trying to connect, but it's no good. A quick Google search does not show many people with this problem. Anyone has a quick solution before I call ATT or Samsung?

Do you have to put music on the micro SD card or can you put it directly on the phone? Also, if I want to change to a custom ringtone, does that have to be stored on my micro SD card?

Looking to speed up my Samsung Captivate a bit. Seems like every since I loaded it up with some music and movies that it is slower. Any truth in that? Considering getting an SD card to hopefully help with that but not sure if it is just my imagination. Anything else for performance tweaking would be great too.

Is it possible to write data directly from my phone to my micro SD card? I got my Captivate a couple days ago, and I've been trying to research as much as I can about it, but I can't find this info. I know I can do it with a computer, but I don't have one. I want to put music and apps I download on the micro SD if possible.

All of my contacts were transferred over from my iPhone by the AT&T store. They are now all on the SIM card, except for a few that I've copied onto the phone. None of these contacts are syncing with Gmail. After some researching it appears as though only contacts of type Google will sync with gmail. So, how do I convert my existing contacts to Google contacts? I can't seem to find anyway to do that.

I have no SD card yet (its on order now) but I have 20 tones already that I downloaded from Zedge - can I use them now for sms and ringtones without the card then just add them to the physical card once it arrives? I have tried but with no success. I am able to play them in the player just not assign them as. My only guess is it is because I have no SD card yet. I searched the forum but found no topic quite like this.

If you press and hold a letter on the Moment, it should pop up a menu of alternate symbols or letters This works on the Hero. Someone claimed it worked on their Moment, but the two I've tried (one at Sprint, one at Best Buy) do not do it. I have searched through the settings menus and the owner's manual and have not found a way to enable this feature. Any suggestions? This is a deal-breaker as I need to be able to type both English and French. I need it to work both on-screen and with hardware keyboard.

I use MyBackup Pro and it can store its backups on an external SD card. I've searched but haven't been able to discover if Titanium has this same capability. If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? I know I can copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my external SD card along with its files, but can it be done automagically as a program option during the backup?

You might have seen this around the forums or other places: 32GB MicroSD. Its the 32GB MicroSD that Verizon is selling for $99 with FREE overnight shipping for their phones. You can buy it without having anything with Verizon, though.
I now have mine installed in my Captivate and the thing is great. I have 29GB of Music/Videos/Pictures loaded up on it and playing back ANYTHING on my phone is fast and doesn't stutter. I know I had some questions about this so I just wanted to post that yes, you CAN enjoy 48GB of space on a Captivate without worrying about Class size speed issues, worrying about the card being fake, etc. Well worth the 100 bucks. The money you can save from Wirefly/Amazon/Walmart etc can easily pay for this.
