Every time I open advanced task killer I have apps open that I have not used,specifically messaging , music player, and video player. I can go in and close all apps and then a few minutes later I go in and they are open again and the while time the phone was locked in my pocket.

I downloaded the netmeter app to keep track of my data usage and saw that while i was on wifi data would be transfering even with no apps open but not while i was on 3g. is that normal? sorry i'm new to smartphones.

It'll light up for a couple of seconds with no alterts, notifications or sounds, then go right back to sleep.

View 16 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I create folders (I use Launcher Pro) and fill them with app shortcuts, after a few days (or a week), I can no longer open the folder. If i drag a new app in it, it still doesn't work. If i delete the folder and create a new one and put the same apps in it... it works again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung captivate. I am using the gmail app for 2 accounts, one work google apps account with its own customized url and one personal with a gmail extension. I have downloaded officesuite, quickoffice and thinkfree apps that supposedly help open office files. no luck. I have opened pdfs.I get lots of xls and ppt a day which i have to view. In the gmail app inbox view, all that happens is i can click the preview button for the attachment at the bottom of the email. there is no download button. When i get the preview button pressed, it gives me the circle of death spinning round and round saying "fetching attachment" and nothing happens, i hit the home key to end the fiasco.in my personal account it is working. In the google apps act, the wheel of death.

I can open/view attachments that have been sent to me, however I cannot open/view attachments in email messages that I have sent. I can see the attachment, and it's file extension, but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no open or save button like there would be normally. EDIT: I have read the other threads on this forum referring to issues with email attachments and none of them had the solution to my problem.

I've tried to open the camera, and a message pops us saying "Low Battery" and then the application automatically closes itself. Any way around this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter 3 years of being an iphone user ive decided to go with the captivate! Ive had it for a couple days and I am loving it! I dont know what happened though. I recorded one video that was about :30 seconds and took two pictures. Now when I open my camera I get a "warning low memory" message. I checked the sd and phone storage from the settings and its showing 1.68gb available? also when i go to gallery i cannot look at pictures or watch the video I recorded.

View 8 Replies View Relatedso i just put 2.1 on my phone and for some reason i cant open the maority of apps i download. most of the ones not working are live wall papers, but there has been a few others. im running helix. any ideas how to load those live wall papers. and why random apps would not open? it takes me to the market from the notification sreen and the open option is greyed out.

Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. How can I get all of my apps onto her phone? If I put my sim card in hers and sync w/ Appbrain will it install all of the apps I have on mine? If I put her sim card in my old Captivate and sync her Appbrain account will that erase my old apps and install hers?

Granted, I don't think gallery/music/video uses data, but still. It seems weird that they just decide to start up. Is there any way to BLOCK applications from starting up unless I do it myself? Or at least a way to make sure they don't use the data network unless I say? I have ATK, but they still start on their own randomly.
