For some reason when I create folders (I use Launcher Pro) and fill them with app shortcuts, after a few days (or a week), I can no longer open the folder. If i drag a new app in it, it still doesn't work. If i delete the folder and create a new one and put the same apps in it... it works again.

I just got my new Captivate and synced up my corporate e-mails.Everything came in fine, but it provides me with EVERY sub folder in my inbox along the top and when I consolidate it .it doesn't last.Is there a way to only display the basic Inbox, Sent, Draft, Deleted boxes?

View 31 Replies View Relatedi just got a samsung captivate love the phone but am having a couple problems my daughter sent me some ringtones via bluetooth and the rt came in a folder from her samsung impression i moved the music into my music folder out of the bluetooth folder however the empty folders that the music came in are still there. i have attempted the long hold on them to delete them but after about 2 minutes nothing happens. does anyone know how to delete these empty folders?

As a past Blackberry user as well I have basic functionality needs of a email app and this may be the deal breaker. I have my Exchange account setup and working however when I open or select an email there is no option to move the email to a folder. So am I blind or screwed! My brother has an HTC Incredible and his has an option to Move. Did Samsung hide it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a photographer so I have the need for several different folders in my gallery for various reasons. So far the only way I have found to move pics between folders is to go: my files>dcim>folder with pic I want to move>long press>select move>select new folder>select move here. One at a time. Are you kidding me? So my questions are:
1. Is there a quicker and easier way to move several pics to different folders?
2. Is there a way to select a folder before I start taking pics so that all the pics I'm about to take go into that folder?
3. Is there a better gallery out there that allows for all of this if the stock one doesn't?
It really seems like I should be able to quickly and easily do what I want from within the gallery. Like a simple drag and drop type of thing. I will be amazed if this isn't there, but I can't find it.
Every time I open advanced task killer I have apps open that I have not used,specifically messaging , music player, and video player. I can go in and close all apps and then a few minutes later I go in and they are open again and the while time the phone was locked in my pocket.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung captivate. I am using the gmail app for 2 accounts, one work google apps account with its own customized url and one personal with a gmail extension. I have downloaded officesuite, quickoffice and thinkfree apps that supposedly help open office files. no luck. I have opened pdfs.I get lots of xls and ppt a day which i have to view. In the gmail app inbox view, all that happens is i can click the preview button for the attachment at the bottom of the email. there is no download button. When i get the preview button pressed, it gives me the circle of death spinning round and round saying "fetching attachment" and nothing happens, i hit the home key to end the fiasco.in my personal account it is working. In the google apps act, the wheel of death.

I can open/view attachments that have been sent to me, however I cannot open/view attachments in email messages that I have sent. I can see the attachment, and it's file extension, but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no open or save button like there would be normally. EDIT: I have read the other threads on this forum referring to issues with email attachments and none of them had the solution to my problem.

I recorded one video that was about :30 seconds and took two pictures. Now when I open my camera I get a "warning low memory" message. I checked the sd and phone storage from the settings and its showing 1.68gb available? also when i go to gallery i cannot look at pictures or watch the video I recorded.

Tried opening files from email with pdf reader program and quickoffice or whatever its called. Neither type of file would open. Tried to download then open files with same problem. Files are definitely .pdf and .doc, just opened and rad them on laptop now. Also confused...is there any way to look at my SD card folders and files through a phone app? Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

Had my Samsung Galaxy S this week and love it......my mates in work have iPhones and they say they can create folders on thier pages, name them accordinaly (music, pictures, apps etc.....) and then place the corresponding data, media etc..... in them, so they are all placed in specific folders.. Is this avaiable to do on the Galaxy S? Is there a app out there for it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Samsung Vibrant phone. I am a little intimidated by it but trying to learn things, but have two questions I need to find answers for quickly - for business reasons.
I found out how to put a file on my computer, but not how to name it...i.e. clients...that type of thing....
AND the guy that talked me into this said that I would be able to access my home computer with this phone so if I needed to send a file while away from the house, I could do that. BUT I cant seem to find that.
AND LASTLY...there seem to be a lot of aps on the phone already that I done want or wont use, but the TMobile guy (who uses a blackberry) could not seem to figure out how to get rid of them.
ALSO...for anyone looking for some cool covers for the phone...decalgirl.com has some great skins for the phone AND the Realook screne protector is wonderful...changes nothing and cant tell it is there, but do follow the directions as to the water to take all dust out of the air.
Is there any way of grouping apps into folders? failing that, is there anyway to autosort into alphabetical order perhaps?

I try refreshing the screen, hitting the stop button to put it to sleep but the only solution seems to be powering off the phone and turning it on again. View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased an unlocked and unbranded Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from Amazon.
After playing around with it for some time, installing all sorts and getting to know how to use it I decided I would perform a factory reset to "clean" it before continuing to use it "properly".
Before performing the factory reset I navigated to "My Files", selected delete, then selected every single folder and file and deleted them.
I then performed the factory reset.
Now I am missing 4 images which were available as wallpaper in "gallery" and probably several other files/folders.
I thought the factory reset would return the phone to its original state and reproduce any folders/files I may have deleted in the process. I thought they might be stored in a hidden "partition" or similar which I had no access to.
Anyway my questions are how can I restore my phone to its original state and which other files/folders would have been present initially but have now been deleted by me?
