Anyone else notice their Captivate screen waking up for no reason? Mine's only done it a couple of times, just wondering if there might be a more serious underlying issue. It'll light up for a couple of seconds with no alterts, notifications or sounds, then go right back to sleep.

View 23 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have an issue with the weather channel app? Occasionally I'll notice that the temp is way off on my home city. When I tap the widget to view my home city in the app there is no weather data - just a big N/A at the top of the screen. It will not update again until I reboot the phone. My other cities are always still updating. Only my home city is fried.This happens about once a day- anything I can clear out in the phone that might help? Uninstall and reinstall the weather channel app?

It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.

I can go in and close all apps and then a few minutes later I go in and they are open again and the while time the phone was locked in my pocket.

Anyway, I have already tried reseting it and taking out the battery, Format SD card, Taken out both cards. Maybe this phone Really is a piece of shit. If it has, I am taking it back in the morning to Tmobile and getting my money back. Then I am Going to Sue Samsung for making such a piece of shit phone.

During this time I've noticed that on occasions the screen will slide to the right without me touching the screen.For example sometimes when I unlock the phone the homepage will slide to the far right, or when viewing a web page it slides to the right.Sometimes this is quite subtle and not too much of a problem. Other times the phone is unusable as a result and requires a restart.Initially I thought this was due to me putting the phone in my pocket without a case. However the problem occurs even after my phone has been sat on my desk all day.There is nothing unusual about my environment, the temperature is average, no direct sunlight or moisture.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm by FAR not what you'd call a techie, and I'm totally new to the 'smart phone". I just bought a Motorola Droid. I'm still trying to figure this thing out. The one thing I'm kind of not liking is... With my old LG Dare, I used VZ Navigator for my GPS. That phone was a touch screen, but when I would use the GPS to find where I was going, I could lock the screen, and it would stay lit, and the program would continue to run. But if I bumped the screen with my finger, I wouldn't be thrown out of the program, or into another one.
I'm finding that with my new Droid (which uses Google maps) that when I'm using the GPS on that, I will occasionally bump the screen, and then I have to try to navigate my way back to the GPS. So if anyone knows of an app that allows me to keep my screen fully lit and the program working, BUT still locks the screen, could you please let me know?
Sometimes the three touch screen tabs at the bottom of the screen ,just stop working ,i can move between home screens and all other touch screen icons work,but not the three at the bottom,then suddenly they will respond Anyone else had this?,i have not installed any apps for a while so i dont think it is an app causing it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an application I am currently working on for a client which is suffering from a particularly hard to debug problem. Every so often, the device screen will go blank, not just while running my application, but entirely. If I press the home button, for instance, it's still blank. This happens fairly rarely ( I myself have only seen it once or twice in a couple of months, and unfortunately couldn't gather log information immediately when it happened. What log info I was able to gather seemed to show that the phone continued to run properly - I was still seeing events in the log file - the screen was just blank ). So far, this has only been observed while running on Motorola Milestones ( this may or may not be coincidence - it's hard to tell given the infrequency of occurance ). Has anyone else observed anything similar? Any suggestions as to possible causes/ways of debugging?

Is something wrong with just the app or phone? Has anyone experienced this?

The flashing wakes me and uses battery. Can I turn it off?
I use Timeriffic and can turn down the brightness to 0% but I do not know if I want that. What if someone calls me and the brightness is 0%?
I cannot get the recovery screen to come on for the life of me. I hold the volume buttons and the power button and once the AT&T screen pops up, I release the power button. It sits there for a second and the screen goes black. I have tried releasing the power buttons then and I have tried holding them as well.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo today in glass design I was checking messages when a small ( when i say small i mean you almost can't even see it) piece of glass landed on my captivate. My captivate has the body glove, screen protector and screen protector.When this little piece of glass got on the screen I tried to just rub it off but it cut through the screen protector and put a deep scratch on the actual captivate screen.The screen protector I was using was gadget guard so I definitely don't recommend using that if you plan on it because of how weak it is. I'm also disappointed with the captivates screen. If a small piece of glass barely rubbing on it can leave a deep scratch, I can't imagine what keys could do.You can't really see the scratch, but I'm just super ocd about it and can feel it on my finger every time it's in that area.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a confession to make.One of the first things I did when I got my Captivate was tried to De-TouchWiz it.I immediately got a new launcher and used lockbot to change the lockscreen.Well, what I'm finding out is that there are some things about TouchWiz that I really like.For example I love being able to change wifi settings etc. on the drop down notification drawer.I also love being able to change the brightness by swiping the notification bar.The one thing that I decided to come back to as a UI element is the Lock Screen.I didn't even give it a shot when I first bought the phone and today I've been using it and I love it.The puzzle message system is just a great tweak and I love how you can just move the puzzle piece into the puzzle hole to go straight to that application instead of swiping the whole screen to unlock and go to the home page.I also really like that you can kind of swipe any which way to unlock the screen, as well as the fact that it's transparent to your wallpaper/live wallpaper.All around, bravo to Samsung on the lock screen.I hope others are enjoying it as much as I am.

I know on the iphone when a message comes in the screen lights up and it shows the message... On the droid razr it only vibrates or makes a noise when on loud. The screen doesnt do anything and sometimes i forget that a mesage came in. Is there anyway to change it so the screen lights up or anything?

Happens once or twice every couple of days (could be more often but I don't stare at it the whole time). No notifications or calls coming in. I suspect it maybe one of the apps syncing or something, but as this happens so rarely it's hard to determine which.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Incredible and got it last week. In the last couple of days, I noticed the buttons at the bottom of the phone were sometimes lit and sometimes not. I went into the Verizon store today to pre-order the TV out cable and asked the tech about the lights. He said HTC was aware of several bugs and there will be an update shortly that will remedy them. On the TV out cables, they're all sold out. They're selling like hotcakes - same as the Incredible.
