I have noticed that when I text *3282# to check my data useage, the notification ringer gets switched to low and I have to go in to settings to change it back. Anyone else have this same issue?

OK, after being on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours and being conferenced call with Samsung this is the result:
Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
Is there a way to make the ringtone volume and notification volume the same? When I turn the ringer volume down using the side buttons on my phone it only turns the ringer down, nothing else. I'm coming from the Evo where you can click "use same volume for both" or something to that effect. Is this a 2.2 thing?

When I lower the volume with the volume rocker switch, it only lowers the ring volume. Is there a way to set a global volume so that changing the volume changes ALL volumes together?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI do have the option on that decreases the volume once I move it, but even before I move it, it's sometimes very hard to hear unless if there is no other noise. Could it be the actual ringtones? I used ringdroid to edit down songs and make a ringtone on the aria.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot my daughter the Samsung Epic this morning and grabbed a case and the home dock for it. Hate the fact that you have to remove the back of the case to plug it into the home dock and the fact that it sets the ringer volume to mute every time I plug it in, not to mention the fact that the external speaker option for the dock won't go active until the phone is updated to Android 2.2. Now that my mini rant is over, I do actually have a question, anyone know what you need to do to get the weather stuff to come up on the Desk Home screen when that software is active, I am having no luck at all. There is no option for it anywhere and the auto magic stuff must be broken. It clearly shows weather info available on all the pics and stuff Samsung has shown off and I would kind of like it to be there.

When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

Okay so i created a folder on my sd card called ringers, worked great for allowing me to use my mp3 files that i croped for my ringtones, however when the phone rings it doesnt ring at the desired volume from the begining, it vibrates only for 1 pulse then the volume slowly comes in from min to the desired level it is as if it is set to escalating. I have searched through all the settings but if there is a way to turn this off i have missed it. I know the mp3 file doesnt escalate because i use the same file on my moment and it rings at full volume from the beginning.

My Query is, I am in the U.K. and if I look at contracts for the iphone they normally include unlimited Wifi and 1Gb of wireless data, whereas the Desire seems to come with only 500Mb of wireless.
I would much prefer to get a Desire, but I am concerned that I could be lumbering myself with excess charges if I go over the 500Mb limit.
I have never had a phone with an Internet connection before so I'm sure that there will be a lot of playing going on at least to start with.
I switched from an iPhone & love it so far but my only issue is when people call me my ringer is so low at the start then after about 5 seconds goes to the volume I have it set on... I looked all over the settings and theres nothing about ascending ringer checked or anything... this is just buggin' the heck out of me..

The radiation level (SAR) for the Samsung Captivate is 0.42 W/kg, which is VERY low for a smart phone and even for dumb phones.
For comparison, the radiation levels for the HTC aria hover around 1.4 W/kg, and some Blackberries are even as high as 1.6 W/kg. The highest limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg, beyond which the phone wouldn't be allowed to be sold in the United States.
I have a ringtone set for all call but when the call comes in it wil start to ring then go silent or very very quite i have tried the defualt ringer as well and same result? I have the ringer set to the highest it can go and still seems quite.

When I hooked it up to my car stereo to play Pandora, I had to max out the volume on the car stereo just to be able to hear it. I don't listen to music at outrageous levels. If I listen to a CD or the radio, the volume level is between 10 and 25. With the Captivate it is 40 and still not as loud as the radio.

How do I know if the phone is accessing the internet through WiFi or not? Obviously WiFi doesnt count towards the limit, so I want to know that I'm using it as often as possible.
Do widgets on the home page count towards your data limit? I've got a weather widget, facebook, bbc news, email, all getting their info from the internet. Is this going to be raking up the MBs while the phone is just sat in my pocket?
Is there a number I can ring to see how much data I've used? I'm with Orange. A number to call to check my texts and minutes would be helpful, too.
Purchased my Samsung Captivate about 2 weeks ago. I was told that you can speak to text, I did the setting for text to speech. No were do they have a microphone to speak to text.
