Anyone using the Mini Diary? Seems like a decent app for preparing Facebook updates without having to post them right then and there. I tried a test publish and it keeps failing. Any idea how to make it work?

So at the request of my wife, I rooted and fixed her mom's Captivate (me and my wife both run Fascinate's).
Now, sometime later, her mom is now requesting that the mini diary app be re-installed.
The Root fix i used was the release the beast fix. Is there any way someone can post up the APK to be re-installed so I don't have to go through returning the phone to stock?
I've tried like everything. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I can't get either Kies or Kies mini to work. The programs install fine but they never detect my phone. Any suggestions? I've read through this forum and did all the basic suggestions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFully charged, never registered/activated, new, 8GB card in place, fingerprints wiped off. Ready... you'd think. I press the right hand power button, and see "Airplane Mode is on" and the time. Battery indicates full, time is correct. If I push the MENU button, I feel the buzz and the screen goes black with htc in the middle. Pushing the power button goes DARK, then back to Airplane Mode. All four touch points (Home, menu, back, and search) produce the buzz but do nothing. I haven't found the RESET button, and it's not in the Index. What basic, simple thing have I missed? Unfortunately, there's no 10 year old kid around to show me how to operate this #$!! thing.

Word from those that have flashed is that they are getting a GPS lock, Indoors. Also, it Looks like updates to the phone will be done with Kies, not OTA. Also has been said that it's pretty quick and the lag issue has been addressed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have heard many many many references to 'fastboot' it's obvious it's on the phone, but every time I look at a rooting or firmware update guide, it seems to imply that it's part of the android sdk. 'just go into the tools folder then run fastboot command filename.ext'But fastboot.exe, fastboot.com, fastboot.bat, fastboot.msi. any thing that would cause a command called 'fastboot' to run out of that folder does not exist in the android sdk.So where is fastboot coming from on the pc side of things. where specifically is this component or program gained? should it be in the sdk? I've installed every release of it, it's not in any of them.This lack of 'fastboot' on the pc side of things is the only thing that's stopping me at this point.Where is this fabled, and seemingly non existent fastboot application?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell, my GPS was working alright, but I just need to know what I need for a lock. Recently, I checked, and it wasn't locking on, so I turned on the GPS Test application. I was connected to 9-10 satellites, each with the number 30 next to it, yet I wasn't locking in for some reason. I just don't get what I need in order to get the actual "lock" so that it works properly.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
So I have a song that I like (smooth criminal) and I would like the opening to be my ringtone. I have heard of ringdroid but it doesn't seem to work well on my phone.

Screen protectors, cables, chargers, whatever you use with your Captivate, list it all here so the rest of us know what works. P.S. Headphones, TV cables, cases, FM transmitters, etc.

My current issue is i am trying to use both gmail and my work email in one button(the email accounts stock app ALMOST does this but it will not allow me to use gmail labels which i must have!). Even if i could live without the labels functionality it seems the gmail app is not only my gmail email but myh contacts/calender sync and perhaps even my app ordering account? Does anyone have any ideas for combining my work email with my gmail app while not losing any gmail functionality as well as garenteeing i dont doubel download/sync with the current gmail stock app?
I also have the GPS issue that most people are haveing... are there really people who do NOT have this issue? or are those without the issue not checking? It would seem that if some people dont have this issue it must be a hardware issue? I am quite concerned with this issue... i ave tried the fixes and some work untill i reboot a couple times then i return to an unsable state(settings have not changed)
So I was about to pick up a Captivate today until I spoke with the sales rep about my data plan. I am still using the 1st gen iPhone with the unlimited edge plan. He told me that there was no way for me to use the Captivate with the old plan unless I upgrade to the new ones.
I remember reading online awhile back that used the upgrade path from the 1st iPhone to any of the 3g iPhones, which makes it sound like he is BS'ing. I don't know if it still holds true for the Captivate though.
