In my new Sony X10 mini pro (android 1.6), ALARM do not work if the phone is switched off? 1. Is this normal in this model? 2. Do we need any other software to make alarm work when the phone is switched off?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility?

I am in and out of the office and sometimes miss that I have got a text as i can not see how to how to set it to repeat.
The alarm on my xperia mini is being very temperamental, it usually goes off the first time (although not always), but the main issue is the phone seems to freeze when i press the snooze button. Is anyone else having the same problem, or better still does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

There is no volume function in the alarm menu; I also tried to lower or switch off the other volumes, but the alarm volume remains the same...
Does anyone know how to change the alarm volume? It would make me wake up happy.
When I charge my phone I'm unable to switch it off? If I switch the phone off and then plug it in, this turns the phone back on again? Is there a way to charge the phone when the phone is switched off?
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy alarm clock sometimes decides to snooze for an hour and 10 mins rather than 10 mins. I nearly missed work on Friday, what is going on!? I waited a long time for the X10 mini to come out and admit that I am a little dissappointed. I've had a SE W580i until recently and I am finding that there are a lot of basic things that my old phone could handle but my new one seems to struggle with.I have used my phone alarm as my only alarm clock for at least the last 5 years. I really struggle to get up in the morning and if I turn the alarm off, I'll fall straight back to sleep again, therefore I rely heavily on the phone's snooze function to wake me up eventually after going off a few times. I was initially dissappointed that you cannot personalise the snooze duration on the x10 mini, the 10 mins is usually ok for me but in certain situations I prefer to shorten it. Please consider including this in the next software update, Sony Ericsson!
But the pressing problem is the (massively) extended snooze. It happens every few days and seems to be quite random. The first few times I hit the snooze button, it works as normal. A picture of an alarm clock comes up showing the time, and a white segment of clock face is highlighted indicating how long the snooze is for (10 mins) and when it will next go off. Then, I stir due to some disturbance outside, notice that the sun is definitely brighter than it was when I was last awake, grab my phone in a panic and realise that I have been sleeping for 20 mins since the alarm last went off, and that I have less than 7 mins to get up, dressed, packed and on the bus or I will be late for work. Meanwhile my phone is cheerfully still displaying the clock face with the white segment showing that I have 40 mins left to snooze and all is well. I didn't even know it was possible for this phone to snooze for anything other than 10 mins. Unfortunately I am asleep whenever this has happened and I'm not sure how I've done it.
I have tried setting the alarm when awake and then pressing various buttons, tapping the screen in various places, even pressing and holding the snooze button or swiping it. Most of these actions do nothing and the only way to stop the alarm is to slide to turn off or press the snooze button. My theory as to what is happening is that the phone snoozes for the normal 10 mins, but then when it reaches the time to go off again, it fails to go off and then the snooze time is displayed as 50 minutes (until it reaches that time again for the next hour). I think the white segment does initially show the 10 mins, I've started checking when I hit the snooze button after it happened a few times, but I might be doing something different in my sleep somehow.
X10 Mini The alarm doesn't start at the set time after update to 2.1 It has failed 2 of 3 times. Anyone else had this? I'm sure I set it correct and it shows the alarm time under the clock as activated and also at the top info bar.

Have tried setting the alarm for Mon - Fri, everyday or weekend but whatever I do the alarm does not go off. I have checked the basic things - time setting, alarm tune, alarm time setting, ticked the relevant box (have tried every day or mon- fri) and no matter what I do the alarm will not go off so thus is very unreliable. Is there a fix for this or is there an app that I can download that will provide me with a fully functioning alarm that works as and when I want it to. Has this happened to you at all? I am currently running 1.6 but from some of the horror stories I read I am to upgrade to a higher version - if in fact I can do it or trust myself to not lose patience when the whole thing goes pear shaped.

Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.
Are there any good alarm apps that allows you to turn the phone off and the alarm would still ring at 6.30 for work?
I have been doing a lot of browsing of sites such as youtube on my phone. I thought this was all happening via the wifi connection to my home network, however I have discovered it has been doing it from 3G as well, since it has eaten up a lot of money on my phone.
The question is how do I enable Internet browsing on wifi as default (when wifi connections are present) rather than through 3G?
This is really important since it seems to have cost me a fortune, when I could have been browsing for free at home. I have the X10mini pro and am running Android 2.1
I just got my Xperai mini pro and I'm pretty clueless. My first question is if Blink works on this phone because my friend loves it on his phone ( not SE).

View 5 Replies View RelatedGot a brand new phone yesterday. Upgraded it to Android 2.1 before using it. In general, phone is functioning properly, however none of the applications (i.e. YouTube, Gmail, Maps) will work over the 3G connection, but the Web Browser does function ok. The apps will work over WiFi (which isn't much use if you're trying to use maps or gmail on the go). I have tried restarting phone (battery out restart). It is not a signal strength issue, I am getting HSPA with full bars and it still times out with "no connection detected" (or variations thereof, depending on the actual application). I can work around this using the web browser based clients for these apps, but as they aren't streamlined they are a PITA to use.

Been reading about this and it goes back as far as Octber 2008!! WTF is going on. Sony are bound to have a simple fix for this.
All of my sony ericsson phones before (including the satio) had a working alarm clock when i turned my phone off at night time.
I received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
xperia mini can't send messages to multiple recipients what gives?
