So I have a song that I like (smooth criminal) and I would like the opening to be my ringtone. I have heard of ringdroid but it doesn't seem to work well on my phone.

How can I set a custom file I downloaded as my default ringtone? I got it off babilo.com and I want to make it my default... But I cant seem to find the song anywhere on my phone to make it my ringer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to play a file using the MediaPlay. The first time it is played, it only plays for 1 or 2 seconds then cuts out and never returns. The second time I play the song, it goes about 3 seconds. This function is in the onCreate function:

After applying SRE v1.2.3 (…… SRE v1.2.3… | Root + OC 1.2GHz + MobileAP + USB Tether + LagFix - xda-developers), my notification ringtone sucks. I have changed it many times but it still plays the "cloud" ringtone. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View Relatedreturned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
Using the Music app I selected to use a song as a ringtone. I no longer want to use it as a ringtone. How do I find the ringtone (if a new file was actually created) and remove it from the ringtone list?

Ps the song is "Bills make me wanna shout". yes I know its corny and yes I know the Bills are awful.
I have copied a couple of mp3 music files onto my Captivate in the "sounds" folder. But I don't see them as available in my ringtone list, only the ones that came with the phone are there. I can play the mp3 files with the music player, so I know they're on the phone OK.

So I could easily do this with my other Captivate before I traded in for a new one (last one was defective, thats a different story) they are both rooted. The thing is I can't remember how I set my song as my ringtone. It is a full song and I easily set it as my ringtone. I didn't put it in a custom "ringtones" folder or anything.

This would thus make this vibrate(silence) the nringtone. My problem is I have no idea how to do this. Would some be willing to assist me. Thanks.

I set my email ring tone to Silent at night and then in the morning, I set it to one of the ring tones. After a while, I'll check the phone and the ring tone is back to Silent.

Perhaps I'm a moron today (don't answer that). But I've been trying to assign an individual ringtone to my wife's number (she doesn't care for "Secret Prayer" by Joe Satriani, suggested something by ABBA, and is lucky she isn't getting "Scolding Wife" by Great Big Sea) but I haven't had any luck. Is this a Captivate thing? The other android phones seem to be easy enough.

No ringtones, no notifications, no mp3s, no sound on videos...calls show up and you can answer, talk and be heard, just no audio other than that.
Media volume up full.
Ringer volume up full.
Notification volume up full.
System volume up full.
Not on silent.
Not on vibrate.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset because she doesn't use one.
Hasn't dropped it...nothing like that.
I am having some trouble using my custom mp3 ringtones for text messages. I would like to use a custom tone for text messages, but not for the other notifications. Is there a way to selectively set the tone like that?

The condition is that the picture in background should also be visible through the foreground picture but only through some part of the foreground picture. Please try to visualise how it should look like. There is a picture shown and in middle of it, there is a transparent area through which the background image is visible. I knew that I can make an image transparent and make the background image visible but here I want only some part of the foreground image to be transparent so that it looks like sort of picture frame applied to the background puicture.
