A month ago I bought 2 Samsung captivates at the same time. Tonight while messing with the one I gave my Fiancee, I notice her Market was different from mine. Hers says it is version 1714, mine says 2002012.I couldn't find any thing on the web other than there are a few android phones, non samsung, that are also stuck at 1714, and that 2012 is the latest version.

One thing that annoys me is when there is an update for an app in the market and I don't know what they are updating. Some apps tells you the stuff they are adding or improving but most don't. On some you can click on the developer's page n they will tell you. But there is a lot that you don't know what the updates are.Like the very popular Pandora radio app. I checked today and there was an update to 1.5 but there is nothing that tells me what the update is.I am new to android, maybe I am missing something but is there a way to see what the updates are before you download?
View 2 Replies View Relatedso we have 4 Captivates in our house. 3 of the 4 have received the update notification and have been updated. (Mine has not). None of these phones are rooted. My son noticed this morning when he goes into the market on his phone and goes to downloads. There are 3 things that are different. First off there is a button that says "Update All", he can click on this to update all of the apps that need to be updated. Second, when he goes into an individual download there are now 2 buttons at the top one says "Comments" the other says "About". The Third change is that under those 2 buttons there is now a check box that can be checked that says "Update Automatically". Anyone know why he has these 3 new options and no one else does?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf your download fully cancels in the middle, do not resume the download. When you try to resume - the phone will think you want to resume installation [it thinks the download is complete] and will update the phone with the partial firmware download. For those phones that were bricked, that is what was said happened to them - myself included. Now, why would the update not realize the firmware isn't complete and just abort the update is beyond me. Many of us ended up with paperweights from that. Had to go to AT&T to replace the phone last night.

The Market still seems to function to load other apps but I have tried pulling the battery, cleaning the cache etc and no matter what I do when I go back to the downloads page the install on this app is still in progress. The Captivate is not rooted and I am not really keen on a hard reset as I have lots of apps and data. Any ideas from you pros out there?

I am unable to see the gmail app in the android marketplace from my phone. Otherwise, i will uninstall the one in my phone and reinstall the same. The one I know for sure is the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app. AppBrain still lists it (in fact, it shows that it got a price drop about 10 hours ago), but scanning the QR code, searching for it in the Android Market, even trying to install it from AppBrain all lead to the same thing: The item could not be found. I don't know if this is happening with other apps or not. I do know for sure that the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app was there before the update as I was trying to decide whether I was justified in spending the money to listen to the playoff games at work. But now it's just gone without a trace.Anyone else notice this or other apps missing?
