Android :: Launcherpro And Open Home

Nov 26, 2010

I'm new to Android and smart phones and so I'm trying to figure it out. First of all I have an unrooted HTC Aria. I would like to customize my phone. I downloaded LauncherPro from the market but I've heard of another app called Open Home. Are they similar apps? For instance, does one need both on their phone or just one or the other? From what I can tell Open Home allows for much more customization?

How do you launch this application? On my old phone, it was listed under programs. Now on my new phone, I downloaded it and do not see it there anymore. I've looked everywhere, how does one launch this app?

Android :: LauncherPro Disabling When I Hit Home Key

Aug 26, 2010

Having an issue with Launcher Pro. I've got an EVO.Whenever I hit the Home key (the hard button) my EVO resorts back to the stock launcher/home screen. I have set it as the default via Home Switcher and it still has the Home key bug. Everything else works fine with LP as far as I can tell.I have tried un/reinstalling the app. I have restarted my phone and the 'Home Switcher' app doesn't offer any relief. Don't know what else to try at this point.

Android :: LauncherPro / QuickDesk / Home Button

Jul 2, 2010

I know there are several threads already about each of these apps but I'm not sure which (or if either) of them is the main culprit here (although I suspect its my failure to set them up properly that's to blame rather than either of the apps themselves).I have LP and QD installed (and love both of them btw). I have QD set as the default home app and in QD have set LauncherPro as the default app to launch when pressing the home button. I've also set QD to launch on long-press of the search button. By default, QD is set to open on double-tap of the home button but I've set the home key timing in QD configuration to 1ms so that is effectively disabled. The issue I have is that if I exit an app using the back button, I have to press the home button twice to go to the desktop overview (or get back to the main home screen if I'm not currently on it). However, if I exit an app using the home button then I only need to press the home button once to get to the overview. I'm sure that before I installed QD I didn't have this issue.Anyone else noticed this or know why it's happening / how to resolve it?

Android :: Setting Open Home Back To Default For Home Key

Nov 1, 2009

Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

Samsung Captivate :: Home Button Goes To Launcherpro.com

Oct 21, 2010

So I searched and hope this isn't a repeat thread. So I never upgraded to the new version of launcher pro and just about ten minutes ago I hit my home button and it automatically takes me to launcherpro.com and says that my current version is expired and to download the new one. Problem is I can't get to the market because my home button doesn't work. So all that works is my browser, 4 physical buttons, and I can pull down my notification bar. So I really need to figure out a way to get to the market or switch to touch wiz.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Save Home Screen Configuration When Switching To LauncherPro?

Nov 16, 2010

I've downloaded Launcher Pro, I currently still have ADW installed as well. When I use LauncherPro my home screen (and other screens) are not set up the way I currently have them. I spent a lot of time setting my current screens so they are exactly the way I want them. Any way to save that config when switching to LauncherPro? It does seem faster so I want to give it a shot, but I'm dreadig setting everything up again- widgets, apps, etc.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Slow - Takes A Minute To Go Back To The Home Screen LauncherPro Crashes A Lot

Oct 11, 2010

I have an HTC Hero, rooted, latest Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus. But I don't know if it's a rooted issue so I posted here. Sometimes scrolling slows to a crawl, sometimes it takes a minute to go back to the home screen, LauncherPro crashes a lot, the lock screen takes a few seconds to unlock. Other times all of that zips through. It's maddening About 24 megs of free storage on phone. What could it be? And the phone reboots a lot on its own also.

Android :: Open Home & Apps Worth It?

Mar 21, 2010

Just curious for an opinion or two I've been tempted to download Open Home from Better Android because of all their cool icons, skins, and other things. At the same time, I see comments about it slowing down the phone significantly or causing all sorts of forced closes, etc.Are most people using and liking Better Android apps? I've got an HTC Dream, so I'm on the old operating system. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Android :: Open Home Background Not Scrolling

I have had open home (full version) for a few weeks now and I'm very pleased with it so far. The last couple of days I have been rearranging my folders and widgets and some of the open home settings.I also changed my background but when I chose the picture I wanted I only got the option of cropping in portrait. Now the background doesn't move from side to side when I change screens.I am assuming it's a setting I changed when I was playing around but I can't find any way of changing it back to the original landscape background that moves from side to side.

Sprint HTC Hero :: App - Lock 2.0/Open Home

Dec 19, 2009

This afternoon, I wiped my phone and am starting from scratch. Lock 2.0 was giving me some issues and with all the installing and uninstalling of app's I've been doing in the past couple of weeks, I just decided to start with a fresh slate.

Before I back and download Lock 2.0 again, I wanted to inquire with others out there on their experience with the App. I love it, but I wasn't sure if I didn't set it up correctly or I didn't understand how the app worked because it never did replace the default lock screen after I installed and configured it. I always had to manually launch it, unlock the screen and then it would take over.

Not exactly what I had in mind for my money. Was thinking it was a full replacement for the default lock screen. Maybe I didn't read the fine print well enough.

Also, what's been the experience with Open Home on the Sprint Hero?

I'll come clean and admit I'm a Mac super-user stuck without an iPhone (I love Sprint!!). I carry my iPod touch and my Hero with me pretty much everywhere. I am LOVING my Hero though! It does exactly what I wanted it to.

I like to get in and customize to the nth degree, but not at the expense of crappy app's that mess up my stuff.
