Alright, I've searched for a while and tried to find the reason why this is happening.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times.On the first connect after the install, it seems like the computer sees the phone but then it disappears.My phone connects just fine without USB Debugging enabled, but it simply won't work when it is enabled.

I am working on putting the new update on my wifes phone and I already installed the drivers needed on my windows xp but everytime I plug in my wifes moment it says USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned! I've tried everything I installed from sprint download site. I have tried Samsung studio. Also the tethering site. Also just the drivers nothing seems to work.
View 21 Replies View RelatedThe first couple of times I connected my new Captivate to my PC via USB, it worked fine. I was given the notification to mount and view my files, and I was able to access everything. This morning, I plugged my phone in, and told it to mount in the notifications, but it did not appear on my PC. When I unplugged it and tried it again, it was not recognized at all as a USB drive.
Notes:
-I am using the "internal SD card". I have no external microSD to use at the moment.
-The phone charges when plugged into the computer, but does not mount.
-I have tried reinstalling the USB drivers via links found on this forum.
( I am a new Captivate convert from blackberry) and trying to find my way through.My sd card ( 32 gig kingston) is recognized by windows ( when attached to usb) and recognized by astro file reader , and winamp etc.yet the built in voice recorder and video player will not run and I get erroro message.Your phone does not have an SD card inserted.I didnt format the card originally since the phone recognized the card without it
I also disabled the scan at startup with a program startup manager is that the problem ?
I'm attempting to access my SD card and every time i connect my phone and choose disk drive to my comp it won't work. It will charge and that is all. When I go to My Computer it doesn't recognize anything as a "disc drive" like the little booklet says.

I went to the notifications menu and had it serach for the HTC program. and it said it did not recognize it... But the Sync program was up and running. Also on the left hand corner of the sync program. It said disconnected. What can I do to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using eclipse 3.6 (It was the only download i could find couldn't find 3.5).When i run SDK Manager.exe I see that I have USB Driver Packer, Revision 3 installed.I Set my phone to enable USB Debugging and I plug in my phone to my computer's USB jack.At this point, I do not see the device in eclipse debug configuration. Should I? Am I missing something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my Droid Incredible a few days ago and am really enjoying it.However, when I use the USB cable to plug in my phone to sync music/movies from my computer (Windows 7, 64 bit), it only recognizes the 2 gig MicroSD card that came with the phone, but not the 8GB Internal Memory.When I plug in the phone, the phone itself asks me if I want to charge or use disk mode and I have it set to disk mode.I can copy to the 2GB MicroSD card with no problems.Tried rebooting the phone and my computer, have all the latest Windows updates, etc.Any idea why my computer isn't seeing the 8GB internal memory?Is there a driver I need to install for it or some other setting on my phone? Can it only see either the microSD card or the Internal memory at one time, so I have to take out the SD card (that would be lame)?

1)select mass storage
2)scroll the top menu down and select mount USB
3)press mount
It is possible to enable USB debug from computer? I need to delete some file from the internal memory that causes the problem. I can't connect through adb at all.
I'm trying to fix my secondary phone (Garminfone) that that loads into desktop, but force close launcher and everything else. The only thing that I can do is connect to the computer for file sharing with the phone.
I just cant seem to get a debugging connection though PC mode on my droid X to connect to the computer. I can in Mass storage, but when I click on Pc mode it turns it off. I am just trying to root right now and I have 2.2 and just lost root.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug my phone into the computer and mount it, I get "F" and "G" drive showing up. When I click on "F" the folders that show up are "DCIM" "download" and "sounds" if I click on "DCIM" inside there I get "camera" and "music". I believe that's the SD card because when I open "DCIM" then into "Camera" I see all of the pictures and video that Ive taken.
One problem I had today was I tried to add a couple of pictures directly into the "camera" folder, from my computer, I see them in there, close everything down, unplug the phone, open up gallery and those pics just refuse to show up?? . .(I'm pretty sure its not a size issue they were relatively small files) Next is the "G" drive. I click on that and see "albumthumbs" "android" "bluetooth" "DCIM" "download" "music" "sd" (which shows up as a hidden folder) "sounds" and "where". When I click on the "DCIM" folder in this drive I get ".thumbnails" and "camera" Inside the "thumbnail" folder I see a mixture of some pictures I've taken and any pictures I've saved from text or email.
I have no idea if this is the way the phone should show up when I plug it in. the two trees of folders seem very confusing. when you plug your captivate in that has an SD card, how should it look when you hit "my computer" If you could give me a scenario of the "folder" tree, or trees. that would be cool.
I cant seem to find the file to get it on to my computer. I plug the phone in and cant find it in any of the folders.

I am however having trouble comprehending how google syncs my contacts. I have my contacts set up exactly how i want them on my google account online i.e. co workers freinds family grouping. I would like my phone to display the contacts in the same fashion, but it seems the google sync is only one way from my phone to my account and not the other way around.
How can i get my contacts to sync from my google account so that they show up as i have them set up online without having to do every individual one on the phone.
When I plug in my phone through USB it wont show up on my computer. Whats going on?

I have tried so many things like: "mount and unmount" the SD card and the internal memory, also i have tried the USB debugging, i hava also tried the kies option on the phone, and nothing.. i have all the Samsung USB Drivers (version V.1.3.450.0) i have downloaded the kies program and the kies mini and they haven't work... what am i missing??? can anyone help me? It just says "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (H" when I click on it. I was able to sync all my music on Friday, what could possibly be going on now? View 2 Replies View RelatedI was running the JI6 2.2 with cognition beta5.5 and was attempting to update however I needed to swap kernels since the current kernel didn't verify signatures. I was using vmware on a mac and i started it but then continued to use the mac side however the computer disconnected the phone from the windows side and now it is stuck showing an image of a phone next to a computer with a triangle with a ! in it between the two. Pressing all hardware buttons does nothing but black the screen and go back to the same screen. I've taken out the battery, sim, unplugged the cord, everything. Can't get back into download mode to redo the kernal swap. It's definitely connected to a valid, and working, usb port and i am now on windows itself instead of vmware. What do I do?

And my second question, my phone doesnt connect to my computer right. I plugged it in, it said it didnt have the right software or something, so i went and downloaded the the Vista 64 bit thing thats stickied on here. I plug it in, and the "you have the wrong software" thing was gone, but nothing else happpened. The screen says its connected and it vibrates and i hear the noise thru the computer, so what am i doing wrong. I read somewhere that you pull down the little bar at the top and hit dock or something like that. I cant do that. If i can pull it down theres no buttons to hit. Can someone walk me thru this process? FIXED
I can't seem to sync my Captivate with my comp. I downloaded Kies and upgraded the firmware and it's still stuck at "Connecting the device" stage. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I first got my Epic I've been sometimes using my PC to charge it via USB and it was prompting the Charge/?/Mass Storage menu options. I would always push "Charge".
At some point it quit asking this...
Now I'd like to root and its not giving me this option any more when I plug the Epic into my PC (honestly not sure when it quit asking this question).
I've only had the phone since Monday and am new to Android.
Currently:
Windows XP Pro SP2 32bit - I have downloaded & installed the Samsung x32 drivers
Wifi/BT/4G/GPSff
USB Debugging is off (unchecked)
