Samsung Moment :: Computer Not Recognizing Phone / USB Device Malfunctioned

Jun 2, 2010

I am working on putting the new update on my wifes phone and I already installed the drivers needed on my windows xp but everytime I plug in my wifes moment it says USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned! I've tried everything I installed from sprint download site. I have tried Samsung studio. Also the tethering site. Also just the drivers nothing seems to work.

Samsung Captivate :: Computer Not Recognizing USB Debugging

Aug 31, 2010

Alright, I've searched for a while and tried to find the reason why this is happening.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times. On the first connect after the install, it seems like the computer sees the phone but then it disappears. My phone connects just fine without USB Debugging enabled, but it simply won't work when it is enabled.

HTC Hero :: RA V1.5.3.1 Cant Get ADB Access Device Malfunctioned

Mar 7, 2010

Just wondering if there is a way out of my situation, last night I installed the latest recovery image (RA-hero-v1.5.3.1), prior to that I put the latest Villian Rom on to update, but I think I messed things up, with some of the new menus in the Recovery rom as I accidently hits a few things Messages I'm getting are on almost every option I try is : E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0 (no such file or directory)and E:Can't mount SDCARD:/nandroid/If I try any other options aswell I get "Error: Run 'bart' via adb" which is no good when I get the adb messages as for some reason my windows 7 pc has stopped detecting the phone in adb mode?! The normal Hero bootloader get's detected fine in windows, is there anything I can do here to restore the system. I think some messages flashed by saying missing image! Which don't sound good.UPDATE: Some more details: was messing around with the new partition options in the recovery menu, wasn't meant to actually use them but one of them went through and done some partitioning or something, so I think I screwed it up there somehow. Maybe my SD card needs formatting in a certain way(which I don't know), I have my original SD card contents backed up with nandroid backup but was done with an older version of the recovery image. Also, when I mount the SD card in Windows there is one partition that I cannot remove or format etc. hope all this helps in a solution.Any ideas on how I can fix this? Sorry for lack of phone details, as I can't get any info due to no rom being installed. But it's a HTC Hero, SIM Free, Not sprint, Latest kernel as im aware, latest recovery image(recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.3.1.img).

Samsung Moment :: How To Connect Phone Via USB Cable To Computer?

Jan 31, 2010

How to connect my phone via USB cable to my computer. I know you turn off USB debugging option under development. I connect the USB cable that came with my phone to USB on my computer and then to my phone. At the top of my phone it comes up with the notification to mount my card touch on that and them my phone comes up saying to turn off mass storage. Using Windows XP and in explorer can see the SD card showing as a drive in my list however when I click on it it shows nothing.

I can see the notice of the usb drive in the listings showing that I can turn it off, which I do before I disconnect the phone from my computer. Then I try to connect the USB again to my phone and all it does is show its charging the phone now, usually the only way to resolve is either to restart my computer or restart my phone and the problem starts all over again. I am tired of taking the card out of my phone manually to connect it to my computer to move or copy files or anything to my card which is an 8GB sandisk micro sd card.

General :: Windows Is Not Recognizing Phone As Composite Device?

Jun 20, 2013

when I connect my Sony Xperia T to my home computer, the ADB driver will be installed properly. When I connect the same phone to my work computer, Windows just doesn't want to accept the drivers. The following things are equal:

- USB debugging is always on on the phone

- Both computer are running Windows 7 64bit

- On both computers I am pointing the Windows driver installation at the same folder with drivers downloaded from Sony.

The thing that is different is the device ID that Windows reports in the Details dialogue from Device manager:

On the home PC it is:
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&REV_0228&MI_01
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&MI_01
On the other PC where things go wrong it is:
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&REV_0228
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182

So it seems Windows is not recognizing the phone as a composite device (MI is it multiplexing identifier?). I double checked that USB debugging is always on and also rebooted Windows.

HTC Incredible :: Computer Not Recognizing Internal Memory

May 1, 2010

I just got my Droid Incredible a few days ago and am really enjoying it.However, when I use the USB cable to plug in my phone to sync music/movies from my computer (Windows 7, 64 bit), it only recognizes the 2 gig MicroSD card that came with the phone, but not the 8GB Internal Memory. When I plug in the phone, the phone itself asks me if I want to charge or use disk mode and I have it set to disk mode.I can copy to the 2GB MicroSD card with no problems.Tried rebooting the phone and my computer, have all the latest Windows updates, etc.Any idea why my computer isn't seeing the 8GB internal memory? Is there a driver I need to install for it or some other setting on my phone? Can it only see either the microSD card or the Internal memory at one time, so I have to take out the SD card (that would be lame)?

Samsung Captivate :: PC No Longer Recognizing Phone As USB Drive

Nov 23, 2010

The first couple of times I connected my new Captivate to my PC via USB, it worked fine. I was given the notification to mount and view my files, and I was able to access everything. This morning, I plugged my phone in, and told it to mount in the notifications, but it did not appear on my PC. When I unplugged it and tried it again, it was not recognized at all as a USB drive.

Notes:
-I am using the "internal SD card". I have no external microSD to use at the moment.
-The phone charges when plugged into the computer, but does not mount.
-I have tried reinstalling the USB drivers via links found on this forum.

To mount your phone as a drive on your computer you need to open the notification that appears in the notification bar on your phone and select the mount option.

If you don't get the notification, then disconnect the USB cable go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and uncheck the USB debugging option. Exit settings and connect the cable again.

Android :: SDK Not Recognizing Debug-able Device

Jun 5, 2010

I'm new to Android development, and am attempting to run a test application on my actual device. I followed the instructions at http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html (and related links), but the Android Debug Bridge (adb) doesn't recognize my connected device.

Some quick background info, I'm running WinXP, developing with Eclipse, with a Motorola Droid running Android 2.1 as my physical device.

An overview of the steps I've taken: Installed the Android SDK, downloading all necessary packages. Enabled USB Debugging on my device. Connected Device via USB, installing the driver from the SDK folder.

I'll stop here (though I continued to setup my application to be debug-able in Eclipse), because I at this point I noticed a problem.

Running "sdkoolsadb devices" at this point (at least, by my understanding), should list my device as connected. However, running this yields only: List of devices attached

My device recognizes that it's connected to a computer in debug mode, and my computer recognizes the device. However, I can't seem to get the sdk to recognize it. I'll leave out the steps I used to setup Eclipse for debugging on a device, as it doesn't seem relevant to the problem. I'll include them if requested.

Samsung Vibrant :: Computer Not Recognize Mounted Device In Windows 7

Nov 28, 2010

I use Windows 7, received my Vibrant a few weeks ago and have been having a great time, but my phone doesn't mount! It mounted the very first time but after making a potential mistake, it stopped. Here's what happened: Yesterday I installed several apps (Beautiful Widgets, WidgetLocker, just for reference), and for the first time since receiving my handheld, wanted to add some files to it via my pc. I connected my Android as usual only to find that while both the phone & sd card were recognized on my computer, both contained no records, which was obviously a glitch.

I then tried unmounting my phone, and screwed up by selecting for my phone to be a media device rather than mass storage. Windows began searching for the device drivers, was unable to find them, and gave the message: "device driver software was not successfully installed." And now, whether mounted or not, windows no longer recognizes my phone's storage. My Android however, has no problems going from mounted to unmounted. However, I have tried connecting my phone to two other computers and none recognize my device.
