having an issue where if the phone is not in lanscape mode it wont recognize my touch. if i get a text and leave the phone upright i cant click the enter message box and the send button is faded. but as soon as i flip the phone into landscape mode it lets me enter a message and send it. anyone else have an issue like this? is there a setting im missing?

I can't figure this out. Some apps have a EditText (textbox) which, when you touch it and it brings up the on-screen keyboard, the keyboard has a "Search" button instead of an enter key.I want to implement this. How can I implement that Search button and detect press of the Search button?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently moved from a custom GB ROM to a Jellybean one, and one of the most annoying things about it is the fact that in the stock text messaging application, pressing "enter" now sends the message instead of inserting a line like it should. I know that you can press "control+enter" to start a new line, but the "enter" key is right next to the "backspace" key, and I'm not always the most accurate thumb typist, so I sometimes end up sending incomplete messages.
Is there any way to make it go back to the way it should work so that I can actually use the "enter" key without worrying about the stupid software thinking I'm done with the message?
Android Guys are reporting that the "one click" root program is no avaliable for the N1 (Universal One-Click Root Now Available for Nexus One | AndroidGuys). Can anyone confirm that this does indeed work without unlocking your boot-loader? My N1 is currently un-rooted and I think I am finally ready to root this phone. My biggest concern has always been that I don't have a good understanding of the root process and I didn't want to mess anything up. If this program really is "one click" then it seems like it's a no brainer. If I do go through with this "one click" root can I just follow the regular instructions to install cyanogen (I would like the ability to record HD)? Also do I still need to revert to an earlier build (running FRF91) to install cyanogen?

I've noticed that when messages arrive and I don't clear/check them on my phone, all subsequent messages that come after are not alerting using notification sounds. View 2 Replies View RelatedIt looks like some people had this issue. For some reason "New Voicemail" notification is stuck in the notifications bar for me. I tried everything i could find online to get rid of it and its still there. I called myself left a message and then deleted it. I called from a different phone, did the same. I rebooted. Nothing seems to help. I am using google voice for VM now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with my Nexus 1. I rooted it when I got it (some months ago), so I don't really remember all the details about how I did it, was probably some cyanogen mod thing. However back then I remember having a small issue with the "system update available" message that displays in the notification bar, when an update is available. The problem was that the message kept appearing even though the 2.2 update was successfully installed. The problem seemed to disappear at some point, but now it is back, and worse. I cannot turn on or wake up my phone without getting the annoying message in my face.
I did try to follow the instructions in the message and actually install the update and reboot (even though the phone is running 2.2), however it didn't help. So right now I am pressing the "install later" option every time I want to use the phone. Also, I found out that I can root the phone with the program Universal Androot, so I guess the solution would be to somehow unroot using the old method (that I have forgotten) and then just use the Universal Androot program whenever I want to do something that requires root. Now the reason I write all this is that I am a bit scared of bricking the thing (even though i hear it should be next to impossible).

I noticed I get the "text message memory full" error when my phone's free space is below 20mb even though I don't have that many texts.Is the text message memory a small percentage of how much free space is left?Is there any way I can set it to have a set amount of memory so I can avoid missing texts as there is no way to retrieve the lost text once I get that error?

when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click?

I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView).In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?

Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI install the android SDK correctly and install all correct drivers, all correct files from the google repository, and reading on unlock, you need to type CMD and enter a few commands, the final one being ADB devices, which is meant to bring up your device serial/id but doesnt show nothing for me, i deleted all drivers with a program, and it re-installs them, I put the phone into debug mode too, but whatever i try, i cant root my magic (32B).
