The title is a little bit missleading. I removed the brand on my phone rooted it and instaled the newest version of Leedriod.
When i Turn on my Desire i will be prompted to enter the pin. When i dont enter anything the system loads and i just can make emergency calls.
So the question is how to enter my PIN afterwards ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I purchased a samsung galaxy s vibrant off somebody through kijiji, he said the phone is supposed to be unlocked, when I go into the network settings, I can choose between rogers, talus and bell, I choose talus, it says I'm with Talus. However when I can't make calls or send text messages, but people can call me, on top of this, when I turn on the phone it says enter unlock pin code, what is this code, how do I fix it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an xperia X8 with some naa kernel and xperiadroidx 6.1.The thing is that with this custom kernel and ROM when i put a SIM from another network carrier, the question asking for the SIM-unlock code input is not showing up. (this appeared before when phone was in stock state).Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?
...or i have to put back the phone to stock? What is the easiest/safest/best way to do this? using the restore option in "PC companion" SE app? Is it only needed to put the stock kernel and ROM, or Do i also need to re-lock the bootloader?
I don't need the whole explanation, just a little guidance, just a few tips to know what to do, then i can google/search myself for the specifics on how to actually do it.
Is there a quicker way to enter smiles other than menu settings etc?

View 9 Replies View RelatedOn my Palm Treo 680, I was able to type a keyboard shortcut or macro to put in the current date and time in a string of text.On the Palm, I typed ".dts" and it returned a macro of "@@ds @@ts", which then returned the current date and time, using ShortCut5 in Prefs. Even on the PC, I use "zds" to return a similar date and time stream - this is using "autoworkers" - 28/6/2010 2:21 PM.Is there some sort of keyboard macro or auto text or shortcut method to do this with the HTC Desire ?(I will probably be asking a lot of "on the Palm Treo 680 I could, how do I on HTC Desire" questions, as I migrate to my new device. View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried installing OpenDesire 4 on my rooted Desire earlier, which didn't work. I ended up seeing the flashing Android logo on a black screen when trying to boot and can't get past it.
So, as I have a nandroid backup, I figured I could use that to recover. BUT, when I hold the volume down button and boot the phone, it just goes to the HBOOT screen. I cannot get into the recovery menu. If I select recovery from HBOOT, it just goes to a black screen.
I have tried reflashing using unrEVOked3 and the recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd image, but it didn't fix this problem.
When starting to enter a URL into the browser I keep getting sites popping up which I've never been to. Is there some way to stop this, or to clear the list?
Eg enter 'a' and I get

ask.com
apple.com
adobe.com
about.com etc. Sometimes foreign language sites show up, in non-western characters.
The phone is new. I've tried clearing the history and the search history, disabling search suggestions, even setting airplane mode in case the phone was fetching this live.
I recently tried to root my HTC desire using UNrevoked 3.1. Everything was going well and I even had the desktop gui tell me that the process was "done", however the phone never made it into the green and black recovery menu, and now when I try and enter the recovery menu the phone gives a black screen. I then have to do a hard reset by taking out the battery. I have tried running unrevoked again with the same results and have tried using Rom manager to enter recovery this way, niether of which have helped.
I've spent alot of time searching without answers, if any one thinks they can help or just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
I have an HTC Desire rooted with Open Desire. Today I just woke up, opened my device and I always got an Android system error message, and nothing would load. I tried rebooting, I took out the battery, I put a different SD card, I restored an older backup and I wiped all the data! Now it's always stuck at the green hTc screen.

My phone soft reboots every few seconds, gets as far as "HTC, Quietly Brilliant" and then reboots, anyone had this before and know of a solution? I've googled around but most people with a reboot issue it is random, mine is constant and has been rebooting constantly for over an hour, only way to stop it is yank out the battery but still can't boot afterwards.

Only directly after such a reboot one can set the phone discoverable without fear of another crash. Terrific!

A few weeks ago I registered for that network thing, back then I was using the HTC Hero. At first it would work, then if I turned my phone work, it would say "Sim can not be registered to this Network" and when I searched for other Networks, only Orange would appear.
When I got the Desire, I can never seem to get this to work still. Orange has terrible signal in my area although there site says its amazing. I never have network in my own home. and Im not sure I have ever saw full bars on my Desire.
So my question is, does yours work 24/7 if you have it. Does anyone else get the sim not registered thing after a reboot and how can I actually set it up properly cause I may be doing it wrong. p.s I have roaming n etc on
Since updating to 2.2 recently, my phone interface when calling has gotten worse. It has the add call, hold, mute and speaker buttons on top of the number, so I cannot see who is calling. It also overlaps the bottom part.
That is not that bad, it is more preferance. The real problem is that I can not bring up numbers while in the middle of a call. This makes calling automated numbers, or more importantly, my voicemail.
Has anyone else come across this? If so, how did you deal with it? Is there a button I am missing? Or a new phone interface I can download?
I was just sending a text and all of a sudden i had the black screen of death and then the phone seemed to reboot itself with an image of a red triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle of it
I proceeded to try and turn the phone off but it gave me lots of options with a white screen, i couldn't get it to do anything so i took the battery out and then it started normally.
loving the phone my first android. was a toss up between that and the iphone, think i made the right choice.il get to the point my phone is locked to oranage uk but i need it unlocked tried a shop near me that unlocks phones but he says he cant get a code cos the phone is too new! so i tried foneszone and they said the same thing. anyone know of a website that can supply me with a code?

I have tryed many website (mobileincanada, cellunlock) but they still answer me that the didn't receive the codes for ''new'' Desires.I didnt ask a refund from cellunlock because he told me that if he doesnt have it, no one else will have it.so I'd better wait (1-3 buisness days) after 3 buisness days they still don't have it.I've spoken to an other admin from htccode dot com and they can 'give it a try'because they have acess to ''all' databases. I'm not into asking a refund from cellunlock and be stucked again with htccode.Can someone explain me the theory of 'new databases' Vs 'old databases'?How do these buisness work? It's simply a matter of going into the address book, hit the menu button and select the "share contact as barcode". As a result, a fullscreen QRCode is displayed containing all the relevant details of the selected contact, ready to be scanned and saved by another smartphone.Now, why can't my Desire do the same?I have Barcode Scanner 3.51 installed, but the "share as barcode" options is nowhere to be found in my address book/contacts list.The only workaround I found is to share contacts directly from inside B.S., but (other than being slower) this method shows non-grouped contacts which is a PITA.Is this a Sense-related matter?What about yours?

I recently set up my calendar to sync with Exchange, which worked perfectly. However, the security of Exchange meant that it insisted on having an unlock code.
Then I installed LockPicker to circumvent having to type in the code every time I used the phone. This also worked perfectly.
Now I've forgotten what the code is. Which doesn't matter, as LockPicker is still working fine. However, I'm on Vodafone, and rumour has it that we'll be getting Android 2.2 this week. Now, call me Old Mr Cynical, but I'm seeing a potential problem here... if LockPicker doesn't reinstall/transfer to 2.2 first time... I'm not going to be able to get into the phone!
So, before this all goes very pear shaped, is there a way (other than Factory Reset) of getting around this? Or, if I have to do a FR, then what's the best way to avoid aggro after the reset and get everything back how it currently is?

I've got a weird internet connection problem:
When using the standard internet app on mobile data (3G/HSDPA) I get the error for all webpages:

All other apps that require internet/data over mobile network function correctly (e.g. facebook, maps, twitter etc). When using the standard internet app on wi-fi it works fine, so I decided to download another browser (opera) and without inputting any settings it works fine on the mobile network and wifi.
One theory, after the recent update of 1.32.405.6 this may have caused this problem???
When looking at the settings, under wireless and settings, mobile network sometimes displays 'not connected' after using the internet app.
I've gone through all the settings, and can't see any issues? I've deleted cache, 'force stop', restarted the phone, removed the battery and sim card and restarted phone. I'm thinking it has to be a software issue with the internet app as i can use the 3G/HSPDA connection through other apps.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Desire with Android 2.1. I sync it with exchange, but it tells me I have to have a "phone unlock code" to sync with exchange. This more or less ruins the phone for me, as I have to type a password EVERY single time the screen locks (or go to standby). Only way I can see around it is forwarding all my exchange mail + syncing all my exchange contacts and my exchange calendar with g-mail, but that is a rather poor solution I think : I have g-mail sync running as well, and that does not require me to have a "unlock password" Does anyone know a way to get around this annoying "you must have an unlock code to sync with exchange" issue?
