View 5 Repliesremove a voicemail notification on my Galaxy Nexus with stock ICS, unrooted.
Here's the catch: the voicemail message has a registered phone number (the carrier's voicemail number). However, the carrier changed this number, so if I try to access the voicemail through the notification, the number doesn't exist anymore. Accessing the new number does not remove the notification.
Is there a way to change this?
Already tried clearing phone app data with no luck.
is there any way to remove the battery notification warnings and led flashing on the moto droid with home++?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have gotten a "Sending..." notification at the bottom of my screen when I turn my phone on. Also, my phone gets a bit warm and the battery doesn't last a half a day. I use Handcent and have cleared the cache and the "unsent messages". I don't know what other program is sending things. It sucks.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using latest Cyanogenmod ROM on my Galaxy Nexus. Changed the Softkeys and Navbar to transparency and it looks great. But it seems that in standard design there is an gradient Overlay on the Background Image?!
Is there anyway to remove that? i will attach screenshot. If I'm changing the Design to any other Theme like "holo glass" it works fine...no overlay, nothing. So there should be a way by decompiling SystemUI or something?
I am using an LG Nexus 4 device with the stock Android keyboard. When texting, composing e-mails, or engaging in most functions with a keyboard, there is a smiley key on the bottom left corner next to the period. Is there any way to remove or change that key?
I use the period often, and sometimes hit that smiley key by accident. A few times in the last week, I sent serious messages and, instead of ending the sentence with a period, I ended it with a smiley. Those made for awkward moments.
By the way, I have tried Swype and SwiftKey and prefer the Android keyboard with gesture-typing. I am not interested in installing an app with a supposedly better keyboard.
I want to remove the word 'yo' from the keyboard because I don't use 'yo' and I hate whenever it accidentally autocorrects to 'yo' when I type in 'you'.
I know how to add words to the dictionary, but I can't seem to find the option to delete pre-inserted words from the keyboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched in this forum, the XDA-developers forum, and Google at large and cannot find an answer to my question. I would like to know if there is a way to remove the clock from the notification bar. I am rooted (EE 2.0). I have found some devs who were able to remove it from their custom Droid ROMs, and would like to know if it's possible for the Eris. If so, how would I go about doing it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI did some searching and didn't really come up with an answer, so flame away if it's out there. Is there a way to get rid of the entire notification bar at the top of the screen? I am running Bat Stat and Clockr so I thought it would be nice to get rid of it.

My phone is rooted with CM and terminal editor. Although I've not well versed in terminal editor I can follow instructions, like adding read/write to the system folder so I could delete system apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running a custom ROM currently that I love and really just want to know if there's a way to dump the clock from the notification bar without flashing a different ROM that offers the capability of doing this. Is there some custom theme apk I can install that will let me fiddle with the stuff in the notification bar? Or is anyone else here running the same ROM I am currently (DocRomV8.ADJP5 w/SetiroN kernel) who knows how to edit/mod the notification bar?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android and have the following problem: When I get a sms I get a notification in the upper bar. I scroll down the bar and access the sms by clicking on it. Now I can read the incoming sms in the bubble but the notification does not go away. I have to click on the bubble to get the complete sms (even if its only a short text) so the notification goes away.
I think this is really stupid that I have to actually click on the bubble (even if I already can read the whole text) so the notification goes away.
In other words: I want it to act the same way as the iPhone. Is there any way?
I have the date in status bar and work fine (see bellow). Done by edited my systemui.apk by my self (decompile, edited, recompile). View 20 Replies View RelatedI've got a receiver set up in my android application to catch android.intent.action.NOTIFICATION_REMOVE intents. On my Evo, it works fine - when a notification is cleared from the notification bar, I catch that event and can run some code. I tried running this on a Samsung Moment though, and it is never caught. So now I'm trying to figure out why, and I can't seem to find anything on Google about this intent action - and I set this code up a few months ago, so I don't remember where I even found this action, it doesn't seem to be in the API.
The evo is running 2.2, and the moment is running 2.1-update1, so I'm guessing that it's undocumented, and only available in 2.2. Is there any other way to catch an event that a notification has been cleared? Note that I'm not trying to cancel a notification that I put up, or trying to cancel another app's notification, just catch an event when a notification has been cleared.
Here's my receiver in AndroidManafest.xml:

I've looked all over the forum, but don't see any recent posts for my question. So I'm hoping someone can help... I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Ideally, it would also be nice to be able to rearrange the icons, or make them larger if desired..

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently set a custom notification ringtone to alert me when I receive a new text message. The ringtone sits in my SD card under the folder "Notifications". Sometimes, I will get a text and my phone will vibrate and pulse light, but the notification ringtone will not be heard. When this happens, I go to Menu>Settings>Sound & display>Notification ringtone and then reselect my ringtone. What will happen on most occasions is as soon as I tap the ringtone I want to set, it will not sample the sound file and the menu will freeze and force close. What happens after this usually involves some cursing and a reboot. Why is my phone forgetting my notification ringtone selection? Why does it force close like that and how can I prevent this? If it makes any difference in your diagnosis, I am rooted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a notification, like an email or text, I want the phone to vibrate for like 15 seconds in like pulses of 3. It will vibrate a fair amount if the volume is on, but when I put the phone to vibrate only, the ONLY thing that vibrates is the ringer. I find this to be a general annoyance with Android I think. Anyone know a way I can customize the vibration settings for notifications (text, email, etc) when the phone is on silent (vibrate only)?

Currently I'm using ADW.Launcher to hide it, which I love, but I was just wondering about the above.
