I am displaying an icon in status bar.Now i want to remove that icon immediately when i open that content , after some time if we receive any alert ,that icon will be displayed again.For this what can i do?

How can i do a notification in the status bar but without the expanded message in the "Notifications" window? i mean, i need just the icon, nothing more. there is a way to do that?

I know how to send notifications to the status bar, but what I want is to show only an icon at the right, like the WIFI icon when WIFI is on, the antenna icon when "GoogleMaps" is on, etc. My service will send notifications to the status bar when needed, but also I want the user to know that the service is running placing an icon at the right. View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view.
Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.
I'm using a Lenovo a60 phone. It has dual SIM support. However i rarely keep the second SIM card activated which results in a no-signal icon beside the 1st SIM signal icon. Anyway i can remove the NO SIGNAL icon ONLY? I still want the signal strength of the second SIM to appear when SIM 2 is activated but i don't want the icon when SIM 2 is deactivated.
I believe it lies somewhere in the SystemUI.apk since that's how i removed the Vibration Indicator icon.

I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Ideally, it would also be nice to be able to rearrange the icons, or make them larger if desired..

Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon?

There's an icon in the notification bar that is shaped like the yellow away status icon for AIM in the IM app, and I'm not sure why it's up there. I've tried signing in, signing out, force stopping, and clearing data, but it won't go away. Any suggestions or help?

I know that you can permanently hide all notifications of an app via app info, but what I am looking for is something that will allow me to only hide any icon from the status bar, but the notification will still be there when I pull down the notification shade.
I currently use a ROM that has this feature, and I have yet to find it implemented in any other way or through any other ROM. I would love to go back to stock or an AOSP rom and use only Xposed modules, but this is the only thing that is stopping me. This feature is absolutely vital in my opinion in my everyday use.
You can see this feature in the screenshot below. When I long press any notification when I select the Hide status bar apps notification icon, the icon will not show up. As if it either replaces it (which I believe it does with a transparent dot) or just as useful would be to change the priority of the notification to low.
This just amazes me that I can't find anything else that does this. I'm hoping there is some type of xposed module that can replicate this feature, or anything really. If only i could find the code in the source of the rom myself to compile it into stock or something... Nexus 5
This icon appears whenever my data allowance has been used up. My network who are usually useful with things like this were otherwise on this occasion.
My phone is rooted with CM and terminal editor. Although I've not well versed in terminal editor I can follow instructions, like adding read/write to the system folder so I could delete system apps.
I think I have been seen apps can do this, but cannot remember them at all

Its been a while since i am doing development on android sdk , one of the astonishing i come across that there is np support in the API to remove any notification in the status bar , i am working on an application which looks for every SMS coming and on some specific sms deletes them from the inbox till now its working fine , but the notification bar still showing that u got a new message despite the fact that u have deleted it form sms database , coils somebody suggest some solution how i can accomplish this.

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
I have placed an icon on the status bar. I would like to run a method of another class whenever the user selects that icon. I've seen similar functionality used in volume icons that sit on the status bar that allow a user to raise or lower the volume when the icon is clicked. However, these icons are on the right side of the status bar, and from what I've seen, I'm not allowed to put an icon there. I don't know if that kind of functionality is available to left side icons. So basically, I'm looking for how to run a function when a status bar icon is clicked. I don't want to open an activity, I just want to run a function.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem. I have my GPS turned off, yet the gps icon on the status bar is still on. What's up with that? I verified that the GPS was off in Settings. I turned it on (sucessfully) and then off again (verified) and yet the icon is still being displayed. Rather strange. I'll try a power cycle to see if that changes it.[It is gone after a power cycle. I don't know when it showed up. Perhaps after updating Google Maps tonight].
