Nexus :: Loosing Ringer / Notification - Sounds
Mar 19, 2010For some reason my ringer and notifications become disabled. Volume all the way up and not sounds from the ringer or email or system items. I can try and pick another sound but it never plays. Also the media is fine, music and videos all play fine. Only way I have found to get it back is to reboot the phone. Not sure if a program is causing it, but it is driving me up the wall and only happens every so often and it is not from a program I am running cause it is very random, and no one program causes it.

Feb 10, 2010Is there a way to mute audio notification of new emails without also suppressing notifications in the status bar? I get way too much email to have it play a sound every time one comes in, but I do still want to be able to see at a glance when I have new messages I've figured out how to change the ringtone, but there's no option to use no ringtone at all. I'm hoping there's a better solution than recording a blank ringtone!

Feb 5, 2013Today I got my first ever smart phone - nexus 4. The phone is great and all, but I hate how everything I do on the phone is connected to my google account. For example, when I enter my photo gallery, there are bunch of albums, blogs data, twitter data, random stuff from my google account which I DO NOT want on my phone. When I tried to delete the albums I accidentally made them to appear offline. Now there is no way to delete the albums. When I select a specific album I only get option to see "details". How do I remove them?
I tried removing my gmail account from my phone and it made things even worse. The contacts I manually typed to my phone are gone as well.

Oct 24, 2012I have a Nexus7 (8gb) with a file headed "WV" and titled with a list of numbers in the "Personal Videos" file that does not appear on my desktop when I connect the Nexus. I now have four films (excluding the stray file) that I want to keep on the Nexus which are all under 1gb each, however my Nexus is now saying that I don't have enough memory to even download basic apps. I think this stray file may be to blame as I've checked the folder sizes using my desktop and I'm well within the 8gb capacity limit.The Nexus will not play the stray WV file; I get an error message saying "file cannot be played".

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?

Of course I understand you would have to initialize each of these locations for a set ringer behavior.

May 13, 2010I have SCOURED this forum - and others - in search of an answer for my problem and have simply not found it. I accidently set up a ringtone to be the default ringer. Which is no big deal, except that now none of my custom ringers work. No matter who calls, it plays the default ringer. I have tried to change the custom ringer to something else (contact, options - and it says the correct name...plays the correct ringer when demo-ed), and change it back to what I wanted originally - didn't work.
Tried changing the default ringer and repeating the above - didn't work. Tried using two different ringer apps from the market - didn't work. I do not use any type of task killer, and don't know the slightest thing about rooting or anything of that nature. I restarted the phone several times. Also took the battery out while still on...didn't work. After all that...still rings the default ringer EVERY time. I'm at a total loss.
Android :: No Sound From Ringer / Alarm
Aug 16, 2010This morning when my alarm was supposed to go off, it didn't. I happened to wake up. I could see the alarm icon flashing on the screen. Later I set a new alarm and no sound. I tried dialing my phone and got no ring tone. I checked on the settings and everything was correct. No silent mode, etc. So then i shut the phone down and restarted it. Then everything was working fine. But..the alarm sound not working or phone sound not working is not good. You could not tell its not working until its too late.
