I love my lg ally but out of nowhere the ringer won't work. i've doubled checked that all the ringertones have been set && that the ringer volume is turned up on everything but everytime my phone gets a text or call it won't ring.

Back when I had my LG Envy, I could set it to rign and vibrate at the same time, cause at time I am in a load area and cannot hear the ring. Can I set my Ally to Ring and Vib at the same time?

I have an application that creates a notification with sound when a specific text comes in. To do this, I detect the current ringerMode, change the ringerMode to normal, play the sound, and then quickly return the ringer back to its original setting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have loaded some of my own music to use as ringers, and they show up when selecting phone ringers and via contacts to select unique ringers for specific contacts, but they do NOT show up when I am trying to select the ringer to use for SMS messaging. Only the factory ringers show up for SMS. Any idea how to get my side loaded music to work as the SMS ringer?! I can't stand the factory ringers. This was so easy to do on my BB Curve and Palm Pixi, so I am baffled why I can't figure it out on my Moment.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have searched and read and followed all steps I could to the T. I cannot seem to get Apps2SD to work. I am using Drellisdee's recovery as well as Trident's Velocity 3. I have formatted the SD card to 0mb swap with 512mb Ext.3 and FAT32 for the rest. I have an 8GB class 2 (I know it sucks) SD card. I tried using Drellisdee's recovery and the one included with ROM Manager. I have verified I have the Ext partition through Titanium backup. it shows that I have 102 out of 159MB free on my internal storage and 220 out of 480MB free on my A2sd partition. If I long press on an app on Titanium backup I am not allowed to move it to the SD (The option is grayed out) and when I install an app the internal space goes down. It doesn't seem to matter if I install the app from a backup or directly from the market.
I have tried re-flashing the recovery and ROM multiple times with no luck. If anyone could help me I would be VERY great full.
The Kindle app doesn't work in Velocity 0.3. It worked fine in stock ROM. I can download a book but when I try to read it, I get an error that it can't open the book. This happens with books I have on my archive list as well as new downloads.

I have been using raptor with a2sd set up, the newest kernel and turbo 4. I decided to install nfl mobile so I can watch the thursday night game tonight and it doesn't work.... thought it was an a2sd issue so I reformatted my sd card and flashed a fresh raptor. It worked. So I updated the kernel and it still worked. Then I isntalled the turbo4 and it no longer works... bummer. I'm figuring that the JIT is worth more to me than the nfl mobile app so I am going to leave it alone. I did find during this process that my phone seems quite a bit faster without a2sd. I have the original sd card which I'm sure makes a difference, but I think I would have to stockpile apps before a2sd would be faster than internal memory even with a faster card.

We Know our options but were wondering if there was a way for you to get rid of your primary Gmail without having to data factory reset. He wants to not lose all of his Apps and all that. If there is No way to do this besides wait on Google to get back to him then I have ways of getting him Mostly back. Just curious for some ideas.... It will randomly restart Text Notifications NEVER make sound no matter what i do. Home button does not work, neither does the search button.
I've tried rebooting, re flashing, downloading other things. Still to no avail. A little help please?

My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI figured out how to full flash the LG Ally 740 to cricket but 3 out of every 5 phones I flash do not save the NV settings. When I go to manual programming (##program740 send) then select DATA. The MIP & DUN MIP settings always revert back to the default 0000000000@vzw3g.com settings. I've changed them in LGNPST,CDMA Workshop & QPST but still reverts back to VZW. It's rooted and tried several different ROM's to fix the problem. Could it be the kernel? If anyone can help, please let me know.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore applying the Turbo4 ROM, I ran Linpack to get a base number so I can compare it with the number I get after I apply Turbo4. I got a 4.188. The phone is rooted with many of the stock apps removed running the Zeam Launcher, but no other custom ROMS.
Is that a pretty good number to start with? It was higher than I was expecting because most linpack scores i've read about are in the 3's.
Another n00b needing some tips/assistance... I spent hours the other night trying to figure out just how to flash my LG Ally to Cricket, to no avail. I've never flashed anything to anything before, so I'm trying to understand the whole process at the same time. There's a lot of vague info on the forums about doing this on the Ally, but nothing clear, yet. I rooted my phone (thanks to amoamare's AllyRR) and tried using 3 programs to gain access to changing PRLs, etc: CDMA Workshop, LGNPST, and QPST. None of them could correctly identify my phone (and yes, I had USB debugging on). It seems to me LG has added a layer of protection to prevent using these tools. My guess is that those of you out there who know how to code (I'm not included) can use ADB Shell or something else to modify PRLs, etc. on a rooted phone.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI use my Ally mainly as phone/email device and do just about 10 mins of browsing web a day. Under this kind of usage, battery level goes to about 50% after 12hrs from unplugging the charger. With some more browsing, it can get down to 33% easily in 12 hours. I guess it will be dead by 18 hours this way. I wonder how you guys batteries are doing compared to mine. I wish it lasts a bit longer than this.
