Still learning on Samsung Galaxy Ring; how can I delete all texts in a thread rather than just delete one at a time? I played around with touch, slide, etc.

Just curious, is there a way (or an app?) that will help me auto delete texts after a certain time frame has passed? I ask this because I have 2 threads that take EXTREMELY long to load due to the large number of texts within each (one has 1,300 texts, the other has 940). It is starting to get annoying having to wait 7-10 seconds for the thread to load. I have actually tried manually scrolling up and deleting the oldest texts but that was just WAYYY too much work and it took probably a good minute just to get to the top.

Questions:
1. Is it possible to do it without other apps?
2. If not which messaging app do you recommend? I prefer something close to stock and light.
3. Are AOKP or CM10 using stock SMS app or they do have their own?
4. If they use their app, are they have the option I mentioned?
I let my one get to filled its at like 1100 and i try to delete it and my screen turns black I can still use therest of the phone just the messages app is frozen what do I do?

Whether I select just one person (and therefore one thread) to delete or deleting my entire inbox, my phone locks up, messaging crashes/force closes. My phone is incredibly slow and I'm assuming the plethora of messages is at least partially to blame.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI use Outlook/Exchange as my primary contact database, so I only wanted to sync my DX with Exchange for contacts. However, before I was able to get to my Google account settings on the X to tell it not to sync Google contacts - it had already synced them. Now, my contacts are a mess because of the damn "linked profiles", so practically every contact has some trash from my unmanaged Google contacts. Old email addresses, dupes, mislabled phone numbers (work, home, etc.) It's ugly and frustrating, since I keep my Exchange contacts perfectly edited and managed.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the Google contacts from my DX other than doing it one at a time. (Since I have over 1500 contacts, that would be a huge pain.) Is there any way I can purge these? I'm a power Gmail user, so I can't just delete the entire Google account. (Not sure that's possible anyway.)

While I am in the middle of typing texts, sometimes my phone will jump to the first message in the thread I am currently viewing (i.e. I am typing a response text to John Doe). I then have to scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll back to the bottom of the thread where my response box is. Then I tap the box and continue typing...
Is this happening to ANYONE else? Am I hitting something that is making the view jump to the top like that? I don't understand.
