View 5 RepliesIt looks like when ever I email someone via Gmail it adds them to my contacts. From reading around, it appears that there isn't a way to stop this unless you change your contacts not to sync with any of the Gmail groups. But if I do that, then none of my contacts sync with Gmail. Is there a way to stop Gmail from adding contacts when replying to emails?
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday I got my first ever smart phone - nexus 4. The phone is great and all, but I hate how everything I do on the phone is connected to my google account. For example, when I enter my photo gallery, there are bunch of albums, blogs data, twitter data, random stuff from my google account which I DO NOT want on my phone. When I tried to delete the albums I accidentally made them to appear offline. Now there is no way to delete the albums. When I select a specific album I only get option to see "details". How do I remove them?
I tried removing my gmail account from my phone and it made things even worse. The contacts I manually typed to my phone are gone as well.
I have a Nexus7 (8gb) with a file headed "WV" and titled with a list of numbers in the "Personal Videos" file that does not appear on my desktop when I connect the Nexus. I now have four films (excluding the stray file) that I want to keep on the Nexus which are all under 1gb each, however my Nexus is now saying that I don't have enough memory to even download basic apps. I think this stray file may be to blame as I've checked the folder sizes using my desktop and I'm well within the 8gb capacity limit. The Nexus will not play the stray WV file; I get an error message saying "file cannot be played".

View 6 Replies View RelatedHave any of you ever clicked on the "I'm Feeling Lucky Mix" button which creates a mix based on your music taste?
this is a great and excellent feature to have. I've clicked on it multiple times, and now I have multiple instant mixes.but how do you delete an instant mix? I have these instant mix playlists now, and I don't want them anymore.
I thought I had deleted them somehow previously (don't ask, I can't remember), and what's even stranger is that when I click on "Listen Now" 'All Music', I see all my music there, however, I also see Instant Mixes, I don't want them in there anymore.
When I go to http:[url]....and login, and click on "Instant Mixes", THERE ARE NONE ! When I click on "Listen Now", there are none in there also!, this is how it should be on my cellphone/tablet as well.Yet on my tablet, when I view All Music by clicking "Listen Now", I see them in there.clicking on the 3 dot menu doesn't get rid of them because there is no remove option, no delete option either.
How do I go about deleting albums from my Google Play Music account using the mobile app? I can delete individual songs but not albums or artists. On the full website I can delete songs, albums, and artists but not on mobile, only songs. I thought Google updated the app a while ago to include the delete function but I seem to be completely missing it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is an annoying playlist on my Nexus 5 on Play Music app. It is under Auto Playlists and is called "Last added". I can't seem to delete it, which is annoying. I don't know if these auto playlists will go away after some time by themselves, but if not, do any of you know how to delete the playlist?
Btw, I used iSyncr to transfer my music from Mac to phone, and I didn't have that playlist before.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus currently. I also subscribe to Googles new streaming music. I have been trying to figure out how to play the songs in my car. We have a 2012 Chevy Cruze.
I have always been able to play music by putting the actual songs in the music folder.
I thought maybe if I used the function that puts the songs on the phone I would be able to search them up that way, but no dice.
Any workaround or a way that I can use the music off of the new streaming service in my car?
I have recently got a Nexus 7 and I was looking for an app that could sync my music between it, my Galaxy Nexus, PC and preferably also Macbook. I know I can use doubleTwist for this however I really like PowerAmp and would like to keep it as my music player. Is there any program I can use to achieve this (preferably with WiFi sync ?)
View 3 Replies View RelatedA song can be playing then just stop. I have to hit the Play button again. It can continue for quite a while across multiple songs, or just stop again in 15 seconds, or 30 seconds, or 5 minutes, or ... Again and again. Needless to say, I want to throw it across the room when this happens right in the middle of an intense set of reps at the gym.
I'm not streaming, the music is loaded onto my phone. It happens at random points on random songs - the same song can play fine all the way through today, and not tomorrow. I'm using corded earbuds, but I don't think it's hardware as I've been sitting in a single position not moving (mid-strertch) with the phone on a separate, stable platform and it's just ... stopped. I've rebooted. I've removed and reinstalled Play Music.
I'm running a Nexus 4/KitKat on Telus. But from what I've googles, this problem isn't unique to the Nexus - but no one has found a solution.
Had this problem before loading Kit Kat but it seemed to have "mostly" gone away then come back again with KitKat. "Typically", but not always, music plays for a while but then once it stops the first time it just keeps it up.
I'm new to Android and have the Nexus 4. I have a question about a music timer. I'm playing/streaming my music through Google Play Music. Is there a way to make it stop playing after a set amount of time, say 1 hour? I can't find a way to make it do that. I bought automate it pro but setting up the rules didn't quite work like I thought.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just recently replaced my laptop with a nexus 10
I've downloaded some songs on YouTube converter and the files are in dropbox app.
How Do I get these songs from dropbox to my play music account? I can't seem to access music manager on the tablet.
I seem to be missing the Instant Mix on Google Play Music on my Nexus 7 as well as on my Nexus 4. Has Google changed anything here or am i doing something wrong. The Instant Mix Tab is gone and when clicking the 3 buttons next to a song the option is missing as well. On my Desktop i still have them though!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Nexus 7(Wifi only), v4.2.1, with the Nexus 7 Toolkit v4.0.0. Since then the Equalizer presets from google's music app is gone and I cannot adjust the bass boost or 3D effect.
Update: I just restored back to stock and that solved the problem. May try to root again in future.
I love the native music player that comes stock on android (via google music). I also use a mac, and I'm in Canada (so I can't take full advantage of the google music service, I.E. storing music in the cloud and managing it that way. In order to put music on my android phone i simply select the songs in my itunes and and drag them into the music folder in Android File Transfer. This works, however, there is one problem: the songs aren't organized into folders, which makes it extremely difficult to organize / delete music from my phone when I want to, as the songs are organized as 01 01 01 01 01 01 02 02 02 02 02 02 03 03 03 03 etc. I tried to right click the music folder and say new folder but it won't create that folder in the music folder. I tried moving the songs into that folder then dragging it into the music folder but that won't work.
I really don't want to use double twist, because I have in the past, and I don't really like it all that much. I just want my files to be organized into folders so that when I can delete them later when I want to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.
I downloaded a short video clip from the Internet. I assumed it would be stored in the "photos" file so I could easily delete it. But now I can not find it. I want to get it out of the phone.
Can someone kindly tell me how I can find it and delete it?
I have Nexus One with 2.2.
Is there any way to recover a pic after i delete it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow can I add u2nl to init.d? I have an HTC Evo 4g LTE and need to make android 4.3 Viper4g Rom run my script on boot. I've tried to use Root Explorer and Root Browser apps to manually add them to the init.d folder, set permissions and changed owner and group to root. But my phone won't boot after I've added my script. The name of my script file is autostart.sh and this is what it contains.
#!/system/bin/sh
export PATH="$PATH:/system/bin"
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT[code]....
I have tried to rename the script to 99data and placed it init.d directory so it would run last but phone won't boot.😵
I feel really silly for having to ask this question, but I can't figure out how to delete music files from my Music application (the one that came with the phone). I see the following options but no "Delete" option:
"Now playing", "Shuffle all", "Play all", "Add to playlist", "Change order", "Set as ringtone", "Repeat", Properties", Shuffle On/Off"...
Have just got my Desire HD and I'm loving the feel and look of it. This is my first touch phone/ANDROID phone, having previously owned the NOKIA N95 8GB, which I was more than happy with and would have kept it but the pull of the DESIRE just proved too much My teething problems seem to be with my music. I've put a load of albums on the phone from my PC. Some I can't find on my phone?!?! Others have gone on twice. I cannot delete the files from the phone. Does anyone know how to delete music files?
