Ive tried searching but nothing came up for this. I made a folder on the root for ringtones so I could get my personal ringtones selected for phone ringtone.Now the issue is how do I get some of those ringtones to come up for notifications like mail or sms?

Runs stock, 2.2.1. I have different ringtones for 'phone ringing, gmail notification & calendar alarm...
In last week or so these have changed a couple of times for no apparent reason (nope, it wasn't me!): Easily reset... . I'd downloaded Skype & wondered if that was doing something so uninstalled it. Just happened again..
I use different ringtones for as many as 12 contacts so that I know who's calling me! Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep having to change my default ringtone to my choice, for some unknown reason, it keeps getting changed back to default. I have rings extended and have changed most of my contacts ringtones and they have stayed, but whenever I go to settings and change it and then either shut my phone off, plug it in, whatever, it causes it to go back to default. I have tried ringdroid and that seems to only work as a ringtone maker, it will not show up in the menu to change tones like Rings Extended does. I also moved my ringtones to an appropriate folder for access. I also have adw launcher now (previously Launcherpro plus-which made no difference)

just changed my rom to 10.1 cm, but even that i changed my ringtone to a different one from my sdcard, and it is saving my choice - when someone calls me - it doesn't play that song.if i change it to the deafault ringtones of the device - it changes, but not with my music files.

However, it only vibrates when I get a text message. Also, the sounds only happens at random times, when I have NO notifications. It really bothers me. I want my Droid to give off the notification ringtone only when I have notifications, not when I don't have them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problem seems to happen more often since the 2.2 update. Custom ringtones for individuals, as well as default ringtone, change for no reason, as do notifications. I typically set my notification at zero volume plus vibrate, then the next day I'll hear a notification go off, and find in the settings that the checkbox for using the same volume for notifications as ringtones is checked again. So I have to uncheck it, and slide the notification volume back to zero. Is there some way to lock my settings?

View 14 Replies View RelatedIf I customize all of my alerts for SMS, email, calls, etc., to sounds (no vibrate), and put the phone in vibrate mode, does it replace all of these sounds with vibration? So that there is no sound coming out of the phone? Same with if I put the phone on silent? I would hope you don't have to go in and change the notification settings for each application to vibrate if you want vibrate, right?I've read some stuff that suggested that this could happen, and it doesn't make sense, but I wanted to make sure.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that when I have my headphones plugged in (but not in my ears) and the phone rings, the ring tone comes out of both (the phone and the headphones, which is fine) but it is not as loud out of the phone as when the headphones out not plugged in. If I pull the headphones out while its ringing the phone starts ringing almost twice as loud. Anyone know how I can make sure the phone will ring at full volume for those times when I forget to take my headphones out and put everything in pocket?

That way I knew how important it might be and whether to take it out of my pocket. My T-Mobile G2/HTC Hero (1.5) doesn't seem to have the option to change the default "vibrate twice". View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to make my own bootanimation for the Galaxy Nexus.So i pulled a bootanimation out of the ROM i am currently using and replaced the png with my own ones (same size).
Then i pulled the bootanimation back to the rom and flashed it... But the animation doesn't start. At boot up the phone just hangs at a black screen and i had to restore from the backup i made...I uploaded the bootanimation. why it doesn't work?

Today my phone rang and the ring tone was a Bob Segar song. I had not set the song as a ring tone so I was a bit perplexed by it.
Later, my Wife called me and the ring tone was "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen which is also not a song that I had set as a ring tone.
Yesterday I was receiving voice mails despite the phone never ringing.
I was wondering if this is one of the bugs in 2.2.1 or is this just a problem on my phone.
Received the new update on my Nexus 7 (first generation) and seem to have an issue with wallpaper changing after powering down.....when repower up wallpaper changes.....is there a setting that needs to be reset to keep the wallpaper that I have selected and not change everytime power on and off ?

I'm running a Galaxy Nexus, and the ROM I'm currently on has a performance option in the Settings Menu, which gives control of the kernel and stuff. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.
So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.
I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,

I would also have to change settings esvaluesstrings.xml, specifically, the string referenced by "@string/performance_settings_title" so that I can have the correct name, correct?
And similarly, settings esdrawable, for the icon.
The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?
After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?
