Aug 5, 2012I wanted to make my own bootanimation for the Galaxy Nexus.So i pulled a bootanimation out of the ROM i am currently using and replaced the png with my own ones (same size).
Then i pulled the bootanimation back to the rom and flashed it... But the animation doesn't start. At boot up the phone just hangs at a black screen and i had to restore from the backup i made...I uploaded the bootanimation. why it doesn't work?
General :: Galaxy Nexus - Changing Settings Menu Options
Jan 5, 2013I'm running a Galaxy Nexus, and the ROM I'm currently on has a performance option in the Settings Menu, which gives control of the kernel and stuff. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.
So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.
I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,

I would also have to change settings esvaluesstrings.xml, specifically, the string referenced by "@string/performance_settings_title" so that I can have the correct name, correct?
And similarly, settings esdrawable, for the icon.
The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?
After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?

Problem: I have two batteries, default one and Mugen one. Every time I change a battery the phone system time resets.
What I have tried to do: Set "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone" on - No luck. Restar after set on -
Install different NTP server synchronizing app. I am in china, so it could not connect to the server and I get error every time, even after change to chinese NTP server - Still no luck...　
Install different GPS synchonizing app, sometimes it work sometimes not and it takes too long to synchronize.

Aug 3, 2013Since updating to 4.3 both my and my girlfriend's Nexus 4 clock keeps jumping back 8 hours. Then corrects itself. Then goes wrong again, a few times per hour.
We bought the phones in the UK where there is an 8 hour time difference.
When we look at clock it says UK time is actually Los Angeles and Los Angeles is UK. It swaps them, which makes no sense.
Turning auto time zone off makes no difference, it's getting it from AT&T directly.

Is there a way to make it stop playing after a set amount of time, say 1 hour? I can't find a way to make it do that. I would like to show a VideoView over the content. In response to some other event, I may want to go back to the first content. Would it be possible to switch the content of the activity this way without running another activity (I have another technical difficult in doing that)? I tried using setContentView( videoView), and then switching back with setContentView(T.layout.main), but it seems that, when going back to the main layout, all my buttons and text boxes are created again as they were new. If i specify image for the EditText in the layout XML file (android:back ground) it looks different and looks different when i specify it at runtime EditText et = (EditText)find ViewById (R.drawable .et1) ; et.setBackgroundDrawable (Main.themes.getDrawable (EDRAWABLES.EditText BackgroundImage )); Both codes point to the same image. When i specify the image at runtime , the EditText leaves a margin at the top and bottom of the cursor in the edittext which does not happen when i do it in XML. I have attached the screenshots of both images. Top image is the one drawn from XML and bottom one is given at runtime. I am not getting the difference ? Actually i am facing similar problems with other Widgets too if i change the logic of specifying the drawable at runtime and not at compile time.. Is this the default SDK behaviour? Today my phone rang and the ring tone was a Bob Segar song. I had not set the song as a ring tone so I was a bit perplexed by it.
Later, my Wife called me and the ring tone was "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen which is also not a song that I had set as a ring tone.
Yesterday I was receiving voice mails despite the phone never ringing.
I was wondering if this is one of the bugs in 2.2.1 or is this just a problem on my phone.

Jul 8, 2010Out of curiosity is there any battery savings (or other inherent savings) in using a pre-set time to check Exchange email vs. Push? For example my corporate email is Exchange and my BlackBerry is set to push; on my N1 I have it set-up to check every 10 minutes. Would using Push decrease my battery life? Decrease my RAM? Any other downsides?
On the flip side - are there any advantages to enabling Push?
