My ringtone seems to have reset itself to something I haven't chosen.
I go to sound & display and when I hit "Phone Ringtone" the only options are OK or Cancel.
Where did my ringtones go?

Everytime I "sync" or "load" more music from my computer to my EVO, the stupid custom ringtones I have for individual contacts reset, and I have to manually go in and change the ringtones for individual numbers. This has happened roughly 8 times so far. I've created the ringtones using RingDroid, and they are "on" the phone and available, they just won't stay on the contact I designate them for after plugging the phone into the computer.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI use different ringtones for as many as 12 contacts so that I know who's calling me! Once in a while when the last person that has a dedicated ringtone calls me the default phone ringer set itself to that person's ringtone. I turned off my phone took the battery off and the rebooted, the problem goes away for a awhile and before you know it happens again! It's really bothersome when you think a particular person is calling you, (because of a ringtone) you answer and it someone else.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI keep having to change my default ringtone to my choice, for some unknown reason, it keeps getting changed back to default. I have rings extended and have changed most of my contacts ringtones and they have stayed, but whenever I go to settings and change it and then either shut my phone off, plug it in, whatever, it causes it to go back to default. I have tried ringdroid and that seems to only work as a ringtone maker, it will not show up in the menu to change tones like Rings Extended does. I also moved my ringtones to an appropriate folder for access. I also have adw launcher now (previously Launcherpro plus-which made no difference)

In last week or so these have changed a couple of times for no apparent reason (nope, it wasn't me!): Easily reset... . I'd downloaded Skype & wondered if that was doing something so uninstalled it. Just happened again..
just changed my rom to 10.1 cm, but even that i changed my ringtone to a different one from my sdcard, and it is saving my choice - when someone calls me - it doesn't play that song.if i change it to the deafault ringtones of the device - it changes, but not with my music files.

View 1 Replies View Relatedokay, this is really frustrating. i got my 2.2 today, and then i did a factory reset. everything is great except i can't seem to get my keyboard to change to swype. i have it installed, and i select it as my keyboard, but i cannot get it to come up. i have the official beta, and i also have a modified version with microphone, and i've tried both, neither is being recognized. does anyone know how to get my phone to use the swype keyboard when i have selected the damn thing? is there an additional setting i have to find? it's not app specific, either, i've checked several things, handcent, internet, mail, whatever. stock keyboard is all i get.

I have read loads of posts and tried changing various settings but am pinning my hopes on Froyo fixing it or else i will seriously be looking at returning phone as not fit for purpose. I am sorry but i feel that having paid ?380 for something advertised as having GPS, maps, navigation etc that i should be able to have this in a usable fashion. I dont want to be told its a phone, sat nav is a bonus. It was advertised and sold as having sat nav and this should be workable. OK sorry rant over, just trying to head off some of the comments i am sure will be posted, anyway back to the problem.
when i start maps or navigation it shows a small radar looking icon in top left hand corner, indicating it is looking for satellites, yet at other times this does not appear and it shows "Searching for GPS" at bottom of screen. The manual states this icon means GPS activated. When it is not showing does this mean that the GPS has not turned on despite maps or Navigation being chosen. I can drive about for an hour with this message showing but navigation not starting. The strange thing is if i have map on the screen it will show my location moving yet still say searching for GPS, if thats the case then how can it update maps, how does it know where i am. I an really annoyed at the lack of this function (can you tell). Thanks for any insight into this.
I have set of text content.Suppose if i am clicking some where in between the text first time.Its intial value will be saved and on second time when i am clicking on some other point. The area between intial point and end point of text must be filled with selected color. How can i implement this.Is their any way to calculate length b/w selected portion?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI still haven't received the update. I'm in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. I also bought the phone when it first came out but that shouldn't matter. Anyone else not receive it yet?
One thing I'm speculating is 'Background Data.' Do I need to leave that on to receive the update? I leave it off and only turn it on when I'm browsing the Market. All I need to leave on is '3G Mobile Network' right? I don't leave it on 24/7 so maybe I was supposed to receive it OTA but my 3G was off.
It's really bugging me that all the people I know that own a crappy Eris already received the update and I'm still sitting here with an expired 1.5 cupcake...
It's been over two weeks since the update started rolling out. How long does it take?

Previously (a couple days ago), I was getting a message along the line of "Your device is up to date".
Now, I'm getting this message everytime: "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."
Don't know why, but every time I try to sync I get this message, but only for my contacts. Email and calendar are fine.
Anybody else experience this? Anyone know of a reason why this is happening?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my desire I have a mp3 set as my notification ringtone so that I can check my email as soon as it is received. The problem is that the mp3 rings out for a couple of minutes which can be really annoying if my phones locked in my pocket.
I have been trying to find a way that I can silence a notification without having to unlock the phone, put in my password and then open the notification bar. Is there a way to have the phone mute the notification ring tone if i move the phone or something like that?
Ok i have an HTC Desire with telus and on the phone there is a ringtone called YOU. Well my friend really wants the ringtone but i can not find it on my phone. I have used android commander to look into the ringtone file and it is not there. So i was wondering does anyone know where this is?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my Desire I have changed my default incoming ringtone (in Settings> Sound & Display> Phone ringtone, click Ok) and when I go back in to settings the change has been saved, but for some reason when I receive a call I still only get the original impatient 'ringring' tone. The same happens even if I set the tone for a contact.

Now I can play them through music player, view them in Astro File Manager, but they are not available to select for phone ringtone.
