I was in the process of rooting.I've tried everything, looked at different threads from many different websites, turned it off, pulled battery, tried charging it via wall charger, everything. Am I totally bricked?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was following the instructions on "How to: Return DROID X Back to Android 2.1 to go from 2.2 leak, to stock 2.1 so I can get the OTA 2.2 update. I've never rooted and after RSD did several things, it gave an error something like "Error sending RAM download for bootloader..." (there was more to it than that, but I don't have it on my screen anymore). After trying several things, my phone now comes on to the bootloader, but says "Code Corrupt" then "Battery Low" and "Cannot Program" flash on individual lines below. I plugged it into an outlet for nearly two hours and I'm still getting the same thing.Anyone seen this if so how do I get beyond it? One thing I read said that he just checked "ODM_Serial" under Config>Flash/Flex options and started over and it worked. That would be great, but the computer won't recognize it as connected as long as it's doing what I described above.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWas trying to go back to 2.1 from 2.2. RSD flash failed, had to unplug phone. Now the boot loader screen says CODE CORRUPT and Cannot Program. I can only get this message when plugged into the wall charger. If i plug into USB to PC i get just a green light where the power light is any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis started about a month ago, the dialer takes like about 5 secs to load if the phone has been on standby for sometime, in fact sometime it keeps happening even if i just opened the dialer like 15 seconds ago. Thought it was adw launcher at first, then thought it was my shorcuts made by folder organiser and then noticed the same on the stock home screen and launcher pro. Funny thing its snappy right after opening it once mostly, never had anything new done to it. Its like has if it tries to go on super dialer power saver mode or something. these phones can do so much but having basic issues at times, like the alarm bug.. now fixed though! no wonder they advertise the other stuff nowadays and less of the actually calling functions!
Also note that even other things felt a little slower but nothing like the dialer, i tried a factory reset and the latest update.. no change in the lag part. Hoping 2.2 makes little issues like this go away.
I have recently bought a milestone now i am using different carrier, so i need to unlock it.where can i buy the unlock code? i saw many providers online, but want something faster and reliable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on Vodafone UK and it won't send MMS messages. I attach a picture to a message, add a subject and when I send, it just sits there with the envelope next to it and it never gets sent. There is a "VF UK MMS" APN set up, but how do I tell the messaging app to use it?

I tried changing it using 'msiexec /qb', but that didn't help either. My version is Motorola_Software_Update_01.11.84_PROD.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up messaging on my home screen, it's pretty slow and choppy. I have about 10 threads open with about 3,000 txts total. I delete most pictures and animations I receive, to save memory, but I like to keep my text txts. It's slow when I scroll down through my threads, and it takes a second or two to open up a thread, regardless if it has 10 txts in it, or 2,000. Anyone else have this problem? I should add that it did not improve after the update. I wonder if I'm low on memory overall, but I have 87M free according to my advanced task killer app. I get what seems to be a glitch too, when I get a text message and it appears at the status bar at the top, sometimes it shows the same text three or four times, at random intervals. Sometimes it just shows it once, like it should?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a wipe and upgrade to 2.1 I started having problems with my alarm clock. When I set the alarm to notify me at certain time it won't start at specified time. Once I press the power button it starts sounding the alarm that was set. Any idea what could be going on? Currently I don't have any third party apps installed on my phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have milestone for 3 days good phone,camera performance surprised me expecting worse but...when i am making call display turns off and non of buttons work even i can hear ringing or person who i call then i have to slide phone slightly or fully to switch display-phone on.it wasn't working since the beginning but when i installed task manager it was working properly almost one day,next day again bad.the same story after hard reset.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsince wednsday I can't use my mobile internet. I checked my APN settings and I didn't find anything which could make any problem. I just use Quick Settings and I used to switch sometimes between on/off in the mobile data. I don't know what's the problem...I even reset my phone and reinstall everything but the mobile internet doesn't work to me. when I tried to enable my mobile data on Quick Settings, for a second the 3G Icon appears on the top of the screen and then it disappears. it looks like something stopps my mobile internet working.

I tried total recall and phone recorder - didn't work. I know google voice have option to record incoming but not outgoing calls. I heard somewhere that Milestone have this option disabled by hardware anyone knows if this is true? Anyway if anyone can recommended a tested working record app (pay or free I dont care at this point).

1. Alarm issue, Motorola wants the user to be searching in the forums to find a solution to a core function? I got to work late by 1 hour the first time this occurred.
2. Yesterday suddenly when I unlocked my phone there was nothing on the home screens, and I have the stock home application. I was going right left, and nothing was there!
3. The music player suddenly starts playing. I was in a meeting and suddenly the music player starts playing! What should I say to the other people? There's a bug in my Milestone and Motorola is just too lame to fix it.

Prior to upgrading to 2.1 (UK) today, I used the pattern unlock feature (a great feature) to unlock my phone. After the 2.1 u/g was complete the phone reverted back to the unlock slider + entering a password. So, I head to settings->location & security settings-> phone lock settings. Now the only option I can access is 'Change unlock password', which is fine, but unfortunately the 'use visible pattern' & 'use tactile feedback' options are greyed out....however they each have a green tick against each item which I've taken to assume means they're enabled! If it's enabled where do I enter the pattern?
While I'm here....if I look in applications, filtering on all, for some reason I have three 'Settings Storage' apps for various sizes....this doesn't sound right?
I've recently been receiving SMS message from 6245 (I know - it's "MAIL" on the keypad) that says: "//BREW:0X0106DCC7:UPDCHK:MajorVersion:4.0.07.04*END".
Is anyone else receiving this, or know what it is? I received 3 of these today, and about 5 over the last several days. It seems to have happened after installing Trapster. I don't see anything on their forum that gives me any clues.
The upload and the search buttons don't seem to be doing anything on the YouTube widget when it's on the home screen. When I actually open the program list and open the YouTube app, the buttons work from there, just not from the home screen widget.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sure I'm not the only one who, upon searching for a particular subject, gets frustrated with all the threads that are labeled with things like: A question about the Milestone" or "I'm really confused" or "New to the Milestone". It would be far more helpful if we could put some hint of the actual subject in the thread title more like: "Email not working" or " Error on sync" or " How can I see how much memory I have" etc. Saves a lot of useless clicking (and waiting) for threads that have nothing to do with what we are looking for.
I know we have a search option, but sometimes it's hard to come up with a word or phrase that gets us where we want to go.It's more fun to browse anyway. But, as the forum grows it begins to take a long time to get through a thread. It would be a lot faster without all the dead ends.
I am using Motorola Milestone UK version with AT & T. G Mail and Yahoo etc work fine. Data plan also work perfect wih At&T 2G. AT&T 3 G can not use with Milestone because 3 G band of AT & T is not supoerted by Milestone.
However, real problem is that when I call anybody, he always finds my voice breaks on Milestone. When I switch to speaker they find my voice perfect. I can hear their voice clearly. Any body has same problem.
Secondly, I would like to dowload "Car Home" app which is available with Droid. It is not available in Market place. When I try to see how it is intsalled in my friend's droid, it shows 0 KB. Does this app is part of Android for Verizon. When I dock the phone in Car dock, as I dont have Car home app so phone does not pop up Navigation window which is part of Car Home. I can use Google Map manually. This is not big problem.
Using Rom Manager, I'm trying to install CyanogenMod 6.0, and I want to include the Google Applications, but everytime it tries to download it gets a corrupt zip error. It still installed the Cyanogen mod, but now I don't the Android Market so I can't download anything. I have tried reformatting the SD card but still no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone experienced an corrupted SD card with their Droid? I was listening to a podcast through Listen while navigating home and the battery was getting low. But, I was nearly home so I figured it would make it. Well, it didn't. When I plugged it in it powered up and I got an error about a corrupt SD card needing a format. I removed and re-seated the card (after shutting down the phone, natch) but that didn't help. I popped it into a PC to try to do a scandisk, but the PC couldn't read it either.
I did indeed format the card. All is well so far, but it's disconcerting that this would happen after only a few days.
Loaded the chevy rom & kernels, did a full wipe cache and all. As I was doing the reboot, the battery died, ( I know, I should have paid attention). Anyways when it came back up, I lost EVERYTHING. Took me 20 minutes to get through the boot menu, and none of my apps will back up. Not really a big deal but the Chevy rom is acting really nutty, so I install the factory look Rom, and Im back up stable. Now I've noticed, my settings shortcut ( basically dont have any settings in menu, or icons menu) the phone dialer is GONE. I do still have the Superuser Icon is still there but if I try to open I force close. Same goes with my set CPU, its there but force closes when opened. Not sure what to do. I tried to reload another Rom, and after the 20 min download it would not prompt to restart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is something interesting about the Milestone. Enable Airplane mode, put it on the charger over night. Wake up to find your Milestone drained. This happens with my Blackberry Curve as well. Airplane mode drains the battery faster than its being charged. Has anyone else seen this? Or am i just getting lucky twice?
