I just switched to the R8 release and after that I cannot mount the sd card to the computer to transfer files back and forth. I can get adb and odin to recognize the phone just fine and it also charges off the connection just no mounting for the card.

I recently purchased a Motorola Droid and I have to say that, while I am not easily impressed by anything, I am quite impressed with it. It is my first Android-based phone, so I am still learning the ropes. My question is this: When I take a video with my Droid, how do I transfer it to my computer? I tried emailing the video, but no attachments went thru. Is there a way to export it via USB, etc.? I know they can be sent straight to youtube if there is wifi available, but I want to send it to the computer for viewing, forwarding, burning to dvd, etc. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I recently took out my Droid X sim card, and put it in my computer. I opened it up, and added a folder, and placed some videos on it from my old phone I had backed up on my comp. I put the sim in the phone, and I cant find the damn folder anywhere. Is there a certain place to put this folder? Im confused. I put another folder on it with pics, and that one shows up.

I recently came across a web site that described a piece of software that could be installed on a Mac computer to make transferring files a bit more automatic. This is part of the description: "On Motorola's phones, like the Droid X, there's an app that they really want you to install on your Windows or Mac system, and it makes sense to do so. It pops up whenever your Droid phone is detected."

I have been experimenting on how to make an easy backup of my apps when installing different (alternate) ROMs, and I tried to use the method that Fabolous uses, but my DROID doesn't seem to like that method at all.
Not.
One.
Bit.
So, I remembered some instructions that I saw earlier, in another thread, on how to edit the color of fonts and such in your system, and I thought "Yanno, that push / pull can be very very useful if I can figure it out." I currently have the droid and have had to do a factory reset several times for trying out different programs and unfortunately been stuck on a force closure loop. When I did the factory reset google had all of my purchased apps saved, I had to re-download them all of course. I'm pretty sure that it would transfer over to a new phone but that is only an assumption, I was hoping one of you guys with waaaaaaay more tech and computer smarts would be able to confirm this for me.

I want to know how to transfer apps to SD card. When I go to settings/manage applications, the Move to SD button is blacked out. For the record, to go back stock all I have to do is plug my phone in, flash 2.0.1 with RSDlite and download the OTA. right?? I mean when VZW puts out the real 2.2, I assume if I went to that I would be at a disadvantage? I see a lot of people with the processor speed on their home page. How do I get that there? Any good free mp3 apps out there?
