View 5 Replies View RelatedAm trying to drag/drop files from my Droid to my PC and back but cannot figure this out to save my life. I want to do it via wifi, not bluetooth. I DL es file explore but I cannot get my PC to recognize my Droid like it would if I connected via USB and mounted. How in the world do I get it so I can swap files back and forth? ES keeps asking for a password and I have no clue what password it wants. I did my initial logon password and it got me in but past that it's a no go. Not to mention the biggest prob is trying to get the PC to recognize it has the Droid connected and looking at files on its network. I'm using Vista and am rooted using Droidmod.

I used handbrake to when converting but when I tried it, phone said it couldn't play this video. No reason or error code.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried using the USB and selecting USB mass storage. My phone is showing up in My Computer as a "device with removable storage", but when I click on it, no files or folders are showing up. The only items listed are a setup file and the driver file. I have already run and installed the driver correctly as far as I know and nothing happens when the setup file is clicked. I'm using a 2007 Toshiba Satellite.
I'm trying to move a video that is taking up most of my storage on my SD card.
My searches all bring back ways to transfer files using my Windows Explorer on my PC Interface via USB and on Android "Es file explorer" using wifi.
I use ES file Explorer to view shared folders on my PC via wifi. I want to do the same thing only faster through USB. Similar to how you connect the android to your pc and it shows the internal sd and external sd in windows explorer.
For example... I want to browse my vast collection of "Justin Bieber's Monkey confiscated by German customs for excessive spanking" pics on my pc to find one that looks good as my android wallpaper. I dont want to use wifi and cant load the 74GB of pics from my pc on my 8 GB SD card on my Android to go through them.
I tethered my Thunderbolt for my friend to his laptop last night. And today I find out he has something called the "fake alert" trojan on his laptop. Is it possible that because my phone was connected to his PC wirelessly that my phone or sd card could be infected as well?

Just got my Droid today, all the software is setup, the emulator works fine. But, Windows 7 will not recognize my Droid in 'Debug Mode', it did once the first time I clicked on the option but now nothing. Is there something else I should be installing for it to be recognized?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have mentioned it in a couple of other threads, but here is the gist of it:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/16333
It simply will not pair.
I removed the old Samsung device, rebooted the computer and the DROID - no go. I even added the Alias back to the computer and they paired perfectly fine. Therefore, the dongle (since it is a mini dongle, do I call it a dingle?) the computer and my BT stack on my computer are working perfectly fine. This is the same computer that I have been using with my Alias to sync with BitPIM, and I have been using BitPIM since I got the alias roughly 2 years ago (yeah, I have every text message ever sent and received on that phone in BitPIM....)
I simply cannot understand why the DROID will not pair. I get an invalid pass key or PIN error if I try to sync from the DROID side and the operation failed if I try to sync from Windows.
Ever weirder, I can pair the Alias to the DROID - although they won't connect, I get through the pairing process perfectly fine, with the Alias prompting me to enter a PIN, and then the DROID prompting me to re-enter the PIN. I then tried it from the DROID side and it sees the Alias there but will not attempt to connect to it after pairing.
Why is the pairing process mucking up in Windows?
I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Leo Laporte and the TWiT network. He has a show on there called "Windows Weekly". The host of the show is obviously a windows guy and has been raving about the new Windows Phone 7 for the past few weeks. Well, his work forced him to use a work phone and they sent him a Droid X. He basically says Android wins but it is a good watch. You can find the episode here: The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte. They start talking about the phone at 20:30 of the show.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFound a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
Why does the phone say PAIRED BUT NOT CONNECTED? How do i connect it to the other phone. To be more specific the other phone is the ERIS. So is it even possible to send songs, pics, etc to other phones from the DROID? And can the ERIS even accept bluetooth file transfers?
View 37 Replies View RelatedI uploaded about 50 pictures from iPhoto (using a Mac) just to see what they looked like and then later formatted the Droid's SD card, so the pictures were no longer there.
Now, if I mount the Droid via USB and view the file structure there is a folder named /albumthumbs which contains 50 files, presumably for the 50 pictures a had on the SD card.
To me, these file, unless linking to actual photos stored on the SD card, take up extra space in the phone's memory (not worried about the SD card). I wonder if I can safely delete them (just the files...not the folder)?
I've got a Droid X that I'm trying to connect to my PC, which is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I plugged the USB cable into the computer, then into the phone, and nothing happened. The phone does not show up in "My Computer."
I've tried several different USB ports, with the same result.
I loaded the Motorola Drivers (found here), rebooted, reconnected the phone, and still nothing.
I've tried opening Media Share, selected "Computer", "Copy", "USB"...and then on the step when I'm supposed to "Enable Memory Card Management," I press the button, select "PC Mode", "OK", "Next", and then I'm told that "Memory Card Management mode must be turned on to continue." (The same thing happens when I select "Windows Media Sync" or "USB Mass Storage".)
Am I missing something, here? Is there a setting that I need to enable on my phone in order to make it visible to Windows?

Told him that I loved it and he proceded to tell me to download the new ADV task killer to make my battery last longer. After reading a lot of different threads about task killers I have decided not to. I told him that many believe its a bad idea to have one on a linux running system. He laughed and told me "Thats the forums for you, the droid runs on windows mobile"....

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I updated to Android 2.2, I had an app that Motorola created. IT allowed you to unmount your SD card, and then gave you an IP address that you could punch into your browser that allowed you to transfer files to and from the SD card. I have searched and searched, but have not found it. Does anyone have it, or know where I can find it? It is not an official app store app.
