I just switched to the R8 release and after that I cannot mount the sd card to the computer to transfer files back and forth. I can get adb and odin to recognize the phone just fine and it also charges off the connection just no mounting for the card.

OK so i updated to the newest 1.6 from BH_man's release. When everything looked good i tried gallery, but it kept Facing on me. When i looked around and found out that i had to make a new folder called SD on the card. So after doing that it would stay at the Loading screen. I could Back button out of it but then it would say i have no pictures. Then for some reason i decided to reformat the card. Bad move. After i went to setting >unmount> then format, i cant get it to mount the card again! I dunno what to do

So in order to install it the OP wrote in the instructions to factory restore the phone which I did. When I cleared the cache and everything and went to install it TWRP said it failed so I just erased it. Then when I went to reboot it was stuck on the screen with the red writing so I rebooted it in Recovery and it said there was no OS installed. I looked for this problem online and found that if I mounted the phone to my computer I could copy and paste a new ROM for my phone which I eventually tried to do but for some reason it does not allow me to check off either of the boxes next to "Mount SD Card" or "Mount Internal." It does let me mark all the other boxes. what I should do so the computer recognizes the phone as a "Removable Disk" like it used to so I can just drag and drop a new OS into my phone and put this thing behind me already?

I am on a MacBook Pro. I cannot get my SD card to mount. The Droid X tells me: "The memory card is missing. Insert a memory card to access Media Share." The media card is 100% IN the device and I am trying to use double twist to move play lists from my itunes to the Droid X.

but when i connect it to the computer, i am not able to transfer files between computer and phone as there is no option for it.my reverse tethering is working fine. on my phone it shows usb debugging mode.
When I install it, are there files Android saved on my old microSD card I need to copy to my computer and transfer to the new card? It seems like most files are saved to the SD card rather than the internal memory for my apps and don't want to cause any issues when I put the new one in.

When I connect my phone to my computer via USB, it doesn't come up as an external drive, it just charges it.

Ya I already went through that freak out when I got my Vibrant. Okay, to mount your phone, and have your computer recognize the internal/external memory, do this:Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Give it a few seconds.Next, PULL DOWN your notification bar. Next, tap your finger on "USB CONNECTED"You then get a message asking if you would like to mount. Tap "mount" confirming you would like to do so.Enjoy, your computer should now recognize the internal/external memory.BTW, reverse this process before pulling the usb cable out. Always remove a cable safely, otherwise the data can get corrupt. Don't just yank your cable out.Edit: some of you may also find the following useful. Hopefully the Epic is similar to the Vibrant in these setting

I have plugged both phones into my computer and tried that with just one picture to see if it would work and I could not find the picture that I moved. Can someone please give me some step by step instructions on this? Also while I have you guys attention for a moment I am also having problems hooking up the hot spot. My computer is saying that it is reading it and says it is connected but when I pull up the web it says that it can not be connected.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFrom what I was told, the Inc supports 32gb microsd card. So I ordered a Sandisk one...class 4. I got it and tested it out. It seems like it can transfer/read small files....but anything big it wouldn't read properly. It's funny cuz a movie file would transfer and play...but if I delete it and transfer the same exact file over, it wouldn't play. Or if I transfer music, some files play and some wouldnt. And some even would merge into one file. Like one song would play and then all sudden another song would POP up like what a DJ does when they mix songs together.
I know I might have a defected one but this is a legit Sandisk card. So what else could be the problem? Should I transfer the file one or slower so the card can read it....is there a way or procedure to using a 32gb MicroSd card? Lol. I mean I have a 16gb right now and it reads and transfers fine. With the 16gb I can literally drag a folder of 10 movies and it would be fine.

I can make and receive calls via hands-free car kit but only part of my phone book contacts transferred to the car (only contacts from A to N in my case) When I deleted on the phone all contacts from letter N, contacts from letter M appeared on the car display. I called T-Mobile and Samsung - no help. Support from Samsung told me to find at android market Bluetooth Profile for Phone book Access but I can't find it. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen the (HTC Desire) phone is powered up it is unable to mount the SD card, and I am unable to have it mounted from the "Settings > SD card & Storage" menu. Having said that, the micro SD card can be accessed from a computer (when plugged in directly to the computer, i.e. no issue with the card), and moreover, when I am in the recovery mode, I can have it mounted and browse it. By the way, the card could be accessed from the phone until I downgraded the O/S, and managed to have it rooted.
When the phone is running normally, and connected to the USB port of a laptop, the laptop does recognize a device connected (can even do ADB), but I believe because the SD card is not mounted, the phone does not offer the option to make the card appear as a disk drive for computer access.
I am running the original (RUU, Telstra) Android 2.2 (2.26.841.2) on a HTC desire, after I had it "S-OFF'ed". After reloading the original 2.2, I had it rooted.
The micro SD card is a 2GB one, with approx 1.5GB formatted as FAT16 (contains typical file and photos), and 0.5 GB as EXT3 (contains nothing at the moment).

I have searched online for solutions, and have not been able to have it fixed. Others seem to have different issues to that of mine. Usually, they cannot mount the SD-card at all (not even from recovery), or their SD card just needed to be reformatted. I think I have indicated that these do not appear to be relevant to my issue at all. I have also tried "Fastboot oem enableqxdm 0", and it made no difference.
I am not able to mount my SDCARD using NPS. My phone does not has a CSC file and I understand that updates wont work. But everyone seems to be able to mount the SD card and copy files to it. I want to update to Galexo roms but not even able to mount my phone.I disabled the mass storage settings and enabled the debugging. I was able to flash the phone using Odin and also able install the recovery image from Galexo.
