Motorola Droid :: Reached Data Limit?
Dec 1, 2009Yesterday (which was the last day of the month), I got a message in the browser saying that I had reached my data limit. It would not load anything. It would still access data over Facebook, Twidroid and Sportstrack, but not the browser. Today, all is fine. So, was that message just in error, or does it sound as if I actually hit my limit? I heard around here that they were not really going to be monitoring the usage unless you were on the business plan. I suppose I could find out if I could see my total usage numbers, if I was around the 5 GB mark.

Nov 16, 2009How is verizon able to get away with tacking on $30 extra on top of the data plan for unlimited email & web browsing?If I cancel this will they block http & smtp from my phone when on the network? I assume I'd be good with wi-fi.Would they block widgets and other apps that use http protocol?

Motorola Droid :: Can't Setup My Verizon / Yahoo Mail Account (verizon.net)
Nov 10, 2009For some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
Motorola Droid :: "Unlimited" Data Means According To Verizon?
Nov 9, 2009Just found out what "unlimited" data means according to Verizon. If you don't know what I mean, have a look here: Verizon Droid Tethering Will Cost You - Business Center - PC World. Anyway, with a wifi connection established, is it safe to say that my Droid will not transfer data over the 3G connection so I don't have to worry about this, or do I have to turn the 3G off and loose the ability to send and receive calls to know for sure that I'm not risking racking up more fees?

Nov 4, 2012I only have 750 MB, and I'm going way over that. How can I get my phone to use wi-fi as much as possible? There's wi fi in alot of the places I work but not at home. Most of the usage seems to be software updates, and google play store updates, and a few other apps being updated. Can it not wait to do those updates until wi fi is available to save my data. Jan 18, 2010First Android phone and just switched to Verizon. I was sending a text and it was over 160 characters. I sent it and got a message saying that if I am texting a non Verizon customer they will only get the first 160 characters...I've had an iPhone and a Blackberry on ATT and it would split the message up for me and send a couple if it was over 160. Is there no way to do this on the Droid? Do I seriously have to try and squeeze everything into 160 characters like I did when I had the RAZR?

He said my previous unlimited data plan was not for smartphones (actually I did not use AT&T branded phone before Captivate, I bought SonyEricsson X1 for my self), if I chose to upgrade the unknown AT&T phone to captivate, they have to change my data plan to the 200MB limit one. Aug 18, 2010it took all day but i finally took 1080p avatar and converted it to mp4 to play on my dx. i transferred the mp4 to my sdcard and started to play. plays better than perfect until i started skipping around the movie and noticed when it gets past a certain time (1:40:50) i think it is it stops playing and cant go past. i try the file thats on my laptop and theres no problem with that. i tried downloading other movie players but they cant even play the file at all.

Aug 11, 2010How often does the Data usage message update? I sent in a query for one last night and I got 31mb used, today I get a message telling me I am 65% over my limit an have used 160 MB. All I used the internet for was chat and some web-browsing (like 5 pictures and a few webpages), but nowhere near 120MB. During the time frame between when I checked I was on an airplane for 4 hours (so no 3G) and then went to bed and got the warning when I woke up. So how often does the data usage message update? Mar 26, 2010Okay, I know 5000 songs is a lot. It's not as much as the song count for anyone I know, but it's a lot nonetheless. However, it's still less than an iPod from 5 years ago could handle, so why is it too much for the Droid? Every time I try "syncing" my library (read: Copying over the music folder, because the Droid doesn't have a syncing app and DoubleTwist is outright broken in its sync method) I end up missing like half of it. Usually it takes me a smidgen of time to realize an album is missing, but immediately afterwards I notice a LOT of albums are missing.
I try renaming the artist name folder, and the Droid them makes some attempt to locate the new music. First it gives me the spinning "loading" icon in the upper-right of my albums list view, and then it "resets" the view to the main four icons (Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists). However, it still doesn't load the new material. I'm assuming at this point that the Droid has an outright song limit that hovers around 3,000. Either that or the "compilations" folder is killing its library search function.
Anyone know if this got fixed in 2.1? At least then I'd have something to look forward to. An alternate music player with cover art support would be fine, too. I don't mind paying extra if it's well-made.
Randomly stopping mid-track on HE-AAC files is also incredibly annoying.

Feb 9, 2010If so, do you think they shake their heads in disgust that we have to change or enhance everything they do? Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. Nov 5, 2010My Droid 1 failed within it's one year warranty. Went through quite a hassle with Verizon trying to get it replaced.They kept telling me a new one would be here by "Tuesday", no phone, call again, should be here by "Friday", no phone...OK, now i'm frustrated. Finally on Monday, a box from Verizon, and surprise, it's a new Droid 2 YAY. Now on Tuesday, another delivery with a box from Verizon, with yes...another Droid 2. That was almost 3 months ago. The second Droid 2 has just sat on my desk, no charges from Verizon, no phone call or anything asking for it back.Today, my son drops the in use Droid 2 phone and it shattered and it's not working. So, I say to myself, no problem I have a brand new one on my desk. My concern is that if I activate it, it will trigger some thing with Verizon and I will then be charged $500 bucks for the phone. What do you all think? Have I actually got a free 2nd phone, or is it just a pretty paper weight.
