Jul 28, 2010I've noticed that I can't type the full 240 characters into the update field in the Facebook app. It cuts me off at 160. Is it just me, or is the app falling short?

Android :: 150 Character SMS Limit
Apr 25, 2010I've recently gotten my Andriod phone (on Telus) and have been texting my friends.My phone cuts up text messages to 160 character messages and sends them all to my friends.However, when my friends receive them the 160 character message gets cut in to one 150 and one 10 character message, often splitting up words. So 4 160 character messages are received by their Blackberries (several models) or Samsung (Slyde?) phones as 4 150 character messages and 4 10 character messages.Is there an app that lets you sent 150 or even 140 character messages? Handcent doesn't help with all the split options it has.I tried them all, but it splits at 160 so it doesn't matter.Is there any way to split messages at a lower character count?(All my friends also use Telus (and Kobo which is Telus). Does Telus have a 150 limit? Or is it their phones?I receive messages from them just fine, but that's probably because their phones only send 140 or 150 character messages.)

Jan 18, 2010First Android phone and just switched to Verizon. I was sending a text and it was over 160 characters. I sent it and got a message saying that if I am texting a non Verizon customer they will only get the first 160 characters...I've had an iPhone and a Blackberry on ATT and it would split the message up for me and send a couple if it was over 160. Is there no way to do this on the Droid? Do I seriously have to try and squeeze everything into 160 characters like I did when I had the RAZR?

Am I supposed to use the session key that this library allows me to get and make some Facebook API calls? I haven't found any code examples to even see what the proper syntax is. Am I better off using another library? I tried fbrocket with limited luck(I get a "server error 104 - Incorrect signature").

It seems that new friends aren't added anymore automatically (that is synced up) ... is there such a limit? my people's list is a mix between my google contacts and facebook contacts (most of them linked so I can add phone numbers, etc.) I have no such limit with my google contacts. my contact storage is at about 50MB right now.

Nov 15, 2010Call me slow, but I just realized that the Friend Stream widget updates your status, not posts to your Wall. Also, I've been so confused by FB messaging that I wasn't even sure these were two different things anymore. Whatever... Anyway, what I'm wondering is, is it possible to clear your status using the FS widget? I've noticed that after using it to post a comment, that status is still shown as active until I manually clear it (or post a new one) later. Or do you have to actually go to FB and clear it?

Nov 2, 2010when i update my status from the app on my phone (droid x), it only shows up on MY wall and not on the usual list that my friends see...I have deleted the app, re-downloaded, clear data, etc. On facebook on the PC, under account settings and "other applications" where facebook for android would be listed, it is NOT there...so that may be the problem, but why isn't is showing up in the list?

This should be something easy. It is so frustrating. Is there any way of doing this other than opening up the full site on another browser. I really don't want to deal with the full site, I just want to update my status and attach a pic? going into the gallery and sharing it that way unloads it to your facebook albums but there is no way to link to it when posting a status update.

Jun 4, 2009Any other Tweeters gettin tired of Twidroid? The dev had it perfect, in my opinion, about a month or two ago.
Since then, there's been this odd bug where sometimes you can't update, in fact, MOST of the time you can't update normally. You have to uninstall it first and then install the new version. And their solution is just to "suggest" this in the description.
Last week they had two updates and I had to install them 3-4 times each before they would work. I'd install, have it running and get told "there's a new update!" which is actually just the same update. Now when you tap exit it asks you "do you want to clear your username, password, and cache now?" If you press "no" it doesn't exit.
Unistalling/reinstalling wouldn't be such a huge deal except you have to re-enable it, re-enter your login info, and do all your settings over. By default it saves the cache to the phone, so you have to switch it to the SD card. By default it's going to check every 5 minutes and drain your battery, by default it doesn't show full messages in the notification shade, etc, etc...
It's a shame, as it worked perfectly with statusinator (for facebook). So, I could update my facebook status in statusinator and have automatically ask me if I wanted it copied to twitter, too.
But since statusinator doesn't work with cupcake, and appears to have been abandoned by the dev some time ago, I'm looking for a new twitter client.
I'm not going to pay for a client. I find it ridiculous for someone to expect me to pay for an app that runs a free service. That's like paying someone to turn on my television and change the channels.
I'm trying BuddyMob and twittered and they're both "okay" so far. Anything that's awesome, does notifications, and has a connection for facebook status updates?

Aug 11, 2010How often does the Data usage message update? I sent in a query for one last night and I got 31mb used, today I get a message telling me I am 65% over my limit an have used 160 MB. All I used the internet for was chat and some web-browsing (like 5 pictures and a few webpages), but nowhere near 120MB. During the time frame between when I checked I was on an airplane for 4 hours (so no 3G) and then went to bed and got the warning when I woke up. So how often does the data usage message update? Also, how immediately do you get the Data usage warning message?
