Is there anyway to get the pattern lock to trigger after 20 min? The list shows 20 min at the max, but I'd like something more in the range of 2-4 hours.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm seeing so many people complaining about the new lock screen that it seems that many Droid owners aren't using a pattern lock to secure their phone. This really surprises me, the phone contains access to all your email, contacts, calendar, and any other personal data you may have placed on it, and a large percentage of you aren't even using the basic security provided by the pattern lock? Or is it that many people don't know the pattern lock exists? I just can't imagine having a phone like this that isn't secured to whatever extent is available.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

I am concern that if I lose my phone, and it is found by an honest person, they will not know how to return it. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to display return information if the pattern lock is on?

I just want to be able to pause/play/skip from the pattern lock screen.I am okay with binding physical buttons to this task if that's what it takes.

I turned my screen on put in my lock pattern and my phone turned off anyone know why this would happen? Couple things you should know.
1) I searched the forums and found nothing about this if there is please give me a link and a mod can close this thread.
2) I had to do a battery pull to turn it back on because it wouldn't respond to the power button.
3) I don't use a task killer.
4) This has never happened to me before.
5) The battery had 51% power left.
6) I want to know if I should be worried or its something that happens often?
7) I have had my Eris since January 06 so the 30 days deal is out the window.
Was wondering If anyone knew a simple way to change the lock pattern on the lockscreen? I'm not a fan of the stock lockscreen and wanted to change it, if possible. I've tried lockbot and lock 2.0 but it's really hit or miss most of the time.

It seems she does not remember the lock pattern and we have not signed up yet for a gmail account. We have tried holding the left and center button then holding the right after a battery pull but when the progress bar comes up(grey) it goes a little over halfway then stops, it never finishes. I have done a search and came up with nothing else. She has 2.1 if that helps.

Yesterday I swiped my unlock pattern wrong to many times and now I have a screen saying that I should type in my google account username and password to unlock it.
I'v done this 100 times now with the correct username and password but it does not open my Hero. It is like it dosen't tjeck it online....
So now I have a locked Hero that can't do anything, How can I unlock it?

This is problem I face: I am waiting for a huge page to load, or downloading something from the market and I am not interacting with the phone. I have the screen set to turn off in 30 seconds to conserve battery. Every time the screen turns off I have to enter the unlock pattern!
Here is what I would like to do:
Only lock the phone and require the unlock pattern if the phone is manually put to sleep with the power button, or if I haven't touched the phone in XX minutes. It would be great if the screen could turn off, but NOT require the lock pattern until its been off for XX minutes. How to do this for free or a cheap app? I am on an HTC Incredible.
