Motorola Droid X :: Hide Superuser Permissions Icon

I forgot to unroot before hitting the OTA. Although I lost root in the process, I still have the SuperUser Permissions icon in my app tray. Is there a way to hide the icon without having to root and remove it manually?

Motorola Droid :: Root 2.1 -> OTA 2.2 -> Lost Root But Superuser Permission Icon Still Appears

Aug 11, 2010

Here is the scenario:
Motorola Droid - Original

1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.

I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?

Motorola Droid :: Superuser Permissions App Versus Superuser App?

Sep 22, 2010

I have the app "Superuser Permissions" BUT I don't see it in the Market as even existing. Also, I have been more seeing people mentioning "Superuser" app recently - like OMJ. Well, when you search "Superuser Permissions" in the Market they show the app "Superuser" and not "Superuser Permissions".. what's up with that? So, I tried to download "Superuser", but I get a Failed Installation app.

Motorola Droid X :: Ninja Morph - Replace Image In Framework

Nov 15, 2010

maybe im having a brain fart and cant remember a step im missing. I'm trying to replace an image in the framework. I have the new image I want on my sd card in a folder called "theme" and it is a .png image. I go into ninjamorph, newproject>system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi>scroll to the image I want to replace and select it. it says select the image you want to replace it with and sends me to my sd card I go to my theme folder, and theres no images there... the .png doesnt show up. I have also tried putting it in my galley, root of the sd card, several places. and none of them show up... I ont get it... did I miss a step somewhere?

Ive done it before but its been a while so maybe im forgetting something? (oh and to add to the confusion, three other .png images I have in there do show up, just not the ones im trying to swap.) only difference I can see between the .png's im trying to use and .png images that do show up, it that the ones that show up are ".png" and the ones that are not showing up are ".PNG" I dont see why caps would make a difference, and I cant seem to get them to not be caps...

Motorola Droid :: New Superuser App

Apr 19, 2010

Make it so you can actually read and tell which apps you have given permissions to. It worked fine installing with clockwork but I had to actually do it from recovery. I tried it first using rom manager cause I am lazy and it failed. Not sure why.It works for me on cyanogenmod but Im not sure it works on other roms. Probably best to clear all your current permissions before flashing this.

Motorola Droid :: Superuser App Just Won't Go Away

Jan 5, 2010

A while back I decided to root my droid. Before doing so I decided to learn up a bit on DOS/Linux commands to sort of understand what the heck was being typed when I looked at what others did to their rooted droids. So I rooted the droid, hid all of those unnecessary apps, and even flashed 2.1 onto it. 2.1 was cool but with Sweeter Home 2 beta almost out I reverted back to 2.0.1 to use that instead. Now just today I decided to start all over, I wanted to revert my droid back to stock, fresh out of the box. Hell I even had to re-activate. But one thing remains, the damn Superuser app that appears. It just wont go away. What gives?

Now I manually installed the official update, but have that pesky Superuser app that wont go away. I understand I need to re-root my device, but I am unsure of how to do that, and the tutorials don't really help. Also do you think they would let me return the phone with that one app on there?

Motorola Droid :: Superuser Permissions Blocked For Rooted Applications

Mar 26, 2010

I was messing around with my phone being bored and went into the superuser permissions app. I was looking at all the entries that were in there and I know that it's just a list of permissions you've allowed on your phone. Anyway I wanted to see what would happen if I clicked on one of them. Well it cleared it from the list and I just clicked on all of them so when I'm in the SU app there is nothing there. Now when I try and get into one of my apps that require permission it tells me it requires root and doesn't have permission. So it looks like I blocked all permissions for my rooted apps. The question is how do I get it back? I'm sure I can just reflash a nandroid backup I have but I was wondering if there is any other way?

Motorola Droid : Want To Restore Factory Settings / Got Superuser App In Menu

So I attempted to hack my droid to wifi tether but I ended up getting stuck at one step. I decided to give up so I want to restore my droid to factory settings, but when I rebooted my phone into recovery mode and factory reset, there is a superuser app in the app menu. I think it's factory restoring to a custom image. Is there a way to restore it the way I got it when I walked out of the Verizon store?

I use it a lot when I use the places icon to find stores etc. Then hit get directions and it uses google maps and act as a GPS giving me direction to the place I picked. And another question if that is the case everything that was loaded on the Droid X comes free with no service charge!

Motorola Droid X :: Sync Icon Won't Go Away - 2.2

Sep 23, 2010

I just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.

When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").

Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.

In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).

I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.

I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.
