Aug 11, 2010I am trying to put a custom boot animation on my moto droid 1. I have root I have done it before and I am using froyo. My big problem now is that I tried putting a different one I downloaded on and it worked. So I need someone to tell me whats wrong with the one I made, because I am out of ideas. I have compared size, resolution, ppi, bit depth but for some reason my images are way bigger files. The sequence was created by using virtualdub to clip a section of an animated short, then exporting an image sequence as png.
But I've fed the images through gimp and an image resizer. The frames are only some of them because I went through deleting every other frame a few times to cut down on the total size. The file is too big to attach here so i put it on my web space at:

I am using the patch that lets me put the files in datalocal and be named bootanimation.zip. it works I've tried with other animations like I said.
Motorola Droid X :: Make Automatic Resizing Of Text - Margin Justification?
Jul 22, 2010My wife's Incredible will automatically rejustify the margins of a web page when she enlarges the type size, and will rejustify the margins if she then shrinks the type size. I cannot get the X to rejustify in this manner, except sporadically on BBC News. At the Verizon store, the Flextronic tech went through the systems menus and could not get the margins to justify either. Anyone know how to make the X rejustify the margins?

Nov 10, 2009First time trying to send a photo via text message (MMS). On any number of my previous phones, the phone would automatically resize the image so that it wasnt too large to send. That does not appear to be happening on the Eris. I sent one photo, and it was nearly 1100kb. Then another photo I attempted to send would not attach, because it said it was too large (it was like 1250kb in size). So, is there a way to have it automatically resize a photo that is being sent via MMS? Or will I need to do that manually beforehand with an app from the Market, like Picasa or something of the sort?

Feb 7, 2010I have a question regarding the meta viewport declaration in HTML pages. Please tell me if this is not the correct group to post to. I have been doing quite a few iphone specific websites and I always use: <meta name = "viewport" content = "width = device-width; minimum- scale=1.0; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=no;" /> Now I tried a site that is using that declaration in the android emulator with a 854 x 480 resolution. Even with the declaration above its scaling graphics and text. I would assume that I have 854 x 480 at my disposal. Can somebody explain how I can disable any resizing? Never had any of those issues in the 1.x Android OS devices and iPhone OS.

Dec 21, 2009When I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

Nov 19, 2010M Droid X I have and guess everybody else has it to (GPS) icon. My question is if I leave it on do I have a monthly service for this, or is this free from Verizon. I use it a lot when I use the places icon to find stores etc. Then hit get directions and it uses google maps and act as a GPS giving me direction to the place I picked. And another question if that is the case everything that was loaded on the Droid X comes free with no service charge!

Jun 15, 2010It's done this before and now that I want to take advantage of the 4 docked icons, it's doing it again.
I am going to try a fix permission, but the RAB and LAB show next to the home button, but I can't drag any icons into the spaces allocated for them. The far left and far right are fine, but those are not technically the action buttons.
Motorola Droid X :: Sync Icon Won't Go Away - 2.2
Sep 23, 2010I just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.

Jul 22, 2010I just wanted to point out a feature I discovered today. LauncherPro has the option to have 5 rows of apps and widgets on each home screen rather than the default 4. On the huge Droid X screen, this looks amazing and does not look over-crowded at all. Though it doesn't look good in landscape mode, but I don't care about that for my home screen.

Dec 2, 2009I have a strange problem. I have my GPS turned off, yet the gps icon on the status bar is still on. What's up with that? I verified that the GPS was off in Settings. I turned it on (sucessfully) and then off again (verified) and yet the icon is still being displayed. Rather strange. I'll try a power cycle to see if that changes it.[It is gone after a power cycle.
