Sep 1, 2010I was wondering if anyone could help me make my decision between the HTC Incredible, the Droid 2 and the Droid X. I'm leaning towards the Droid X at this point over the Droid 2, because the physical keyboard seems superfluous. I type much more quickly on my iPod Touch than I do on my phone, which has a physical qwerty on it. I'm hoping Swype and a bigger screen will make it even better. For that reason, the Droid 2 is kind of a long shot, in my opinion.
Alas, it's mostly down to the X and the Incredible. After having read up on the specs of both rather extensively for the past few weeks (I'll have money to kill my AT&T contract and get on with Verizon sometime this month), the only thing I haven't been able to research very well is Sense versus the stripped-down version of Blur on the phones.

It reboots every 40 Seconds, touch is borked and screen tearing galore, but optical joystick does work (a bit) If anyone wants to help or show support, now is the place to do so. Mar 30, 2010i just noticed this with my camera a few days ago. I like to use my Eris's camera a LOT (its a decent camera!) but am now disappointed that there is a reddish blur in the center of all photos. It is very noticeable on white backgrounds in medium to low light conditions. does anyone have any info? i rooted my phone and am still in the 30 day period, i have insurance too.

Nov 15, 2010maybe im having a brain fart and cant remember a step im missing. I'm trying to replace an image in the framework. I have the new image I want on my sd card in a folder called "theme" and it is a .png image. I go into ninjamorph, newproject>system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi>scroll to the image I want to replace and select it. it says select the image you want to replace it with and sends me to my sd card I go to my theme folder, and theres no images there... the .png doesnt show up. I have also tried putting it in my galley, root of the sd card, several places. and none of them show up... I ont get it... did I miss a step somewhere?
Ive done it before but its been a while so maybe im forgetting something? (oh and to add to the confusion, three other .png images I have in there do show up, just not the ones im trying to swap.) only difference I can see between the .png's im trying to use and .png images that do show up, it that the ones that show up are ".png" and the ones that are not showing up are ".PNG" I dont see why caps would make a difference, and I cant seem to get them to not be caps...

Jul 19, 2010I know about not being able to install custom roms or rooting the phone, but are you able to disable Blur (shadowblur or whatever its called) and just run stock android? Without being able to load a custom rom, being able to run stock android is pretty much a deal breaker for me.

Oct 27, 2010So i really like a lot of the new "blurless" roms, however i really miss the corporate email aspect of blur. IMHO the blur email app is significantly better than the AOSP. Does anyone know how i could be able to add this back to the "blurless" roms. I have the deodexed apk archive that i got from somehwere, i've tried just installing the apk's that i feel would be required, i.e. blurservices, bluremail,etc. but i always get an "application not installed" error. i've even placed them in the /system/app folder and corrected the permissions with no success. Does anyone have any experience in adding blur back to your phone that might be able to help me out?

Sep 25, 2010I just received a new Droid X yesterday from VZW and immediately upgraded it to official 2.2. The thing seems slower and more jerky than my stock incredible which is pretty damn smooth. If I scroll through the homescreens with a static (non live) wallpaper, it's almost like the walpaper stutters and jumps forward and back a fraction of an inch as it moves across the screen. Haven't really noticed it when using a live wallpaper. Anyone else see this? Really frustrating. Dissapointingly I might have to go back to the DINC if this continues. I don't notice this at all when using Launcher Pro.

General :: Rooted Devices - Superuser Can't Get Root Access

I open my superuser:
downloading manifest okay
parsing manifest okay
latest version 3.1.1
checked install version 3.1.1
fixing database okay
unpacking sutools okay
check current install path= /system/xbin/su
Downloading new binary okay
gaining root access fail
I have my device rooted by means of UnlockRoot, at first I think the version of superuser is low. So I download Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip , exact it and replace the old version superuser and su .
I click the root on the software and it seems that everything work. But the fact is that I can't find superuser in my android devices and manually install superuser by myself. And then the phenomenon above appears. It seems that I have rooted the devices and I can't get root access. It is more dangerous than I don't root the devices.
