Motorola Droid X :: Working In PC Mode - Do Something In Windows?

Jul 24, 2010

What is this "PC mode" that comes up as an option when you plug into a computer? Does it do something in windows? I run Ubuntu and it does nothing when I select it. The manual doesn't mention it, at least not the PDF I downloaded. It covers mass storage and windows media sync but not PC Mode.

Motorola Droid :: Windows 7 Does Not Recognize My Droid In - Debug Mode

Dec 11, 2009

Just got my Droid today, all the software is setup, the emulator works fine. But, Windows 7 will not recognize my Droid in 'Debug Mode', it did once the first time I clicked on the option but now nothing. Is there something else I should be installing for it to be recognized?

Motorola Droid X :: Battery Mode Not Working

Oct 3, 2010

I just (within the past couple of days) noticed that my Battery Mode doesn't seem to be working. When I go into Battery Manager to select the Battery Mode, none of the selections highlight when I try to select them. I had been using Power Saver mode but it looks like all the buttons are grayed out. Anyone else notice this or have the same issue? I powered down and did a battery pull, but that didn't fix the problem. I don't want to do a reset because it's not that big of a deal to me but it would be nice to get it fixed.

Motorola Droid :: Dock Mode Not Working In BBv0.9

Apr 15, 2010

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just can't figure it out. I am running BBv0.9. I did a total data wipe, so I have been resetting my apps and settings. Last night when I plugged my Droid into my multimedia dock it of course gave me the option to choose "Clock" or "Mulitmedia" for display on the dock. Well, since I like the Mulitmedia look, I checked "Set as default" and chose Multimedia. Well apparently that option doesnt play nice with this ROM. All options (alarm, weather, music, etc) give me an instant FC message! My question is how do I "uncheck" that from being my default dock display? I have gone in to Manage Applications, Running Services...no options to change default setting.

Motorola Droid :: Updating To 2.2 - Recovery Mode Not Working

Aug 5, 2010

So I have stock android 2.1 installed on my phone. I haven't gotten the OTA update. I tried to manually update, but recovery mode doesn't seem like its working - I see the triangle/question mark but there is also a phone laying down right next to it. No combination of keys will get me to a menu to apply the update.zip. I tried flashing back to 2.01 and 2.0 and updating from there - but the recovery mode stayed the same. Does anyone know where to find the full Froyo stock .SBF files?

Samsung Galaxy S :: Mass Storage Mode And Windows Vista / 7

Jul 16, 2010

When I connect my new Galaxy S to my computer using the usb connection, I can see both the internal and external SD card (I use a sandisk Ultra 16GB card). However I cannot open these disks. Windows refuses to open them. The right click on these disks in order to get their properties gives 0GB! So what is going wrong. Do the SD cards use a special format (linux ?) that windows can not see correctly.

I take chance of this message to give a short feedback of my first week with my galaxy S here in France. I got it from virginmobile operator. I have to say that this phone is amazing. What a screen ! My wife just purchased an iphone 4. By far I prefer the samsung's screen. Concerning the battery. One can go for one or two days without recharging. My feeling is that it is not shorter than the iphone's battery.

General :: Android USB Debug Mode Works In Windows Not In Ubuntu

Nov 1, 2012

In Ubuntu, I have double checked the udev rules. They all look perfect. (I cross checked using another phone too). The USB debug mode doesn't show up no matter what. And I have the adb_usb.ini in the right place. I have tried running all possible combinations of running adb, adb start-server as root. But

Code:

adb devices shows no devices at all.

However, with the USB debugging option enabled on phone, it worked on Win7 after windows installed a Common handset driver.

If I go back to Ubuntu without disconnecting the cable and do

Code:
$ adb devices
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
1234567890ABCDEFdevice

The product id is 1234567890ABCDEF and I am able to see it and everthing works fine!!But the moment I disconnect the USB cable, its gone.

So I guess it's not the development machine that is at fault. The device seems to be setting a property while in Windows which stays latched till the usb connection goes off.

Btw the Code:

/data/property/persist.service.adb.enable is 1 too.

Android :: ADT Plugin And SDK Not Working On Windows 7

Oct 29, 2009

I have a problem getting the Android SDK to work on my new Windows 7 computer. The ADT plugin in Eclipse will not open, when I run SDK setup.exe I do get a window, but settings wont get saved and the app disappears. When I click 'New' in the virtual devices pane. When I run android.bat from a command prompt I get the following error:

Make sure the user.home property is set up com.android.prefs.AndroidLocation$AndroidLocationException: Unable to get the home directory. Make sure the user.home property is set up

-snip- I have a dutch install of windows 7 where the users directory is named differently and already tried to change the HOMEPATH, APPDATA, LOCALAPPDATA and USERPROFILE paths in the registry to the dutch version of the directory. Which didn't work either.

Eclipse version: GALILEO (Eclipse IDE for Java Developers Build id: 20090920-1017)
Android SDK version: Android SDK R3 windows (I tried previous sdk versions. Same problem) Windows 7 Home Premium.

Android :: Calender Windows Not Working On HomeScreen?

Apr 29, 2010

I just bought the Motorola Milestone for about a week. Initially when I added the Calender as a Widget to my home screen, there is a little open window showing my next appointment(s) for the day or next day. However, I accidentally trashed it and when I tried to add it back to my home screen again, I am unable to get the same and the Calender merely appears as a little icon. Is there any particular setting that I may have missed out?

After reading a lot of different threads about task killers I have decided not to. I told him that many believe its a bad idea to have one on a linux running system. He laughed and told me "Thats the forums for you, the droid runs on windows mobile"....

Motorola Droid :: Mounting To Windows 7 Laptop

Jun 17, 2010

This could be a long post so here's the gist of it: my new laptop running Windows 7 doesn't want to mount my Droid when my external harddrive is connected. I tried a couple different tests using my Droid, my external harddrive, and a thumbdrive to try to isolate one of the devices as being screwy, but... When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my external harddrive, the computer will automatically unmount the droid when the external harddrive is connected. If I connect the external harddrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, the droid just won't mount.

When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my thumbdrive, everything works fine. If I connect the thumbdrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, everything works fine then too. When I connect the external harddrive and the thumbdrive to the laptop at the same time, I get no problems here either. (NOTE: All of this mounting is done via USB but I get this problem when I try to mount via bluetooth too... The computer will pair and connect with the droid via bluetooth, but when I try to use Windows Explorer to browse the files on the droid, it pops up on the laptop with "service not available".) It seems that my external harddrive seems to have something personal against my Droid...But I never had this problem on my old laptop (which ran Windows Vista).
