Jan 12, 2010is there a way to get more than 3 windows without having an alternate home window like BetterCutt???

is there a way to get more than 3 windows without having an alternate home window like BetterCutt???
On the car dock the "Car Home" was default to the home key on the Droid. If I backed out of Car Home to get to an app or something, I would just touch the Home key and it would get me back to car home.

In fact, I've removed all beautiful widgets from all my home screens and home screen replacement apps. Yet for some reason I get the weather thing in my status bar as if I had Beautiful Home running. Which means it's somehow being run without being told to. And it only does this with Sweeter Home.

When I connect to the server with the default Android browser it shows the site fine, but when I go to download a file (say a .doc file), the file is larger than normal and can't be opened in quickoffice.Yesterday I was trying to download a 28k word document that kept downloading at 158k in size. So what I had to do was find a PC, download the file, send it to myself in gmail and it worked fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like switching between the stock home and Launcher Pro and ADW. Since the 2.2 update, when I use a home switcher to use one of the replacements, my phone defaults back to the stock home screen when I hit the hardware home button on the bottom of my Moto Droid. Is there a setting I am missing to change this. Even when I select the replacement as "default" using the Home Switcher, it still reverts back to the stock one when I hit that home button.

Told him that I loved it and he proceded to tell me to download the new ADV task killer to make my battery last longer. After reading a lot of different threads about task killers I have decided not to. I told him that many believe its a bad idea to have one on a linux running system. He laughed and told me "Thats the forums for you, the droid runs on windows mobile"....

The manual doesn't mention it, at least not the PDF I downloaded. It covers mass storage and windows media sync but not PC Mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis could be a long post so here's the gist of it: my new laptop running Windows 7 doesn't want to mount my Droid when my external harddrive is connected. I tried a couple different tests using my Droid, my external harddrive, and a thumbdrive to try to isolate one of the devices as being screwy, but... When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my external harddrive, the computer will automatically unmount the droid when the external harddrive is connected. If I connect the external harddrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, the droid just won't mount.
When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my thumbdrive, everything works fine. If I connect the thumbdrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, everything works fine then too. When I connect the external harddrive and the thumbdrive to the laptop at the same time, I get no problems here either. (NOTE: All of this mounting is done via USB but I get this problem when I try to mount via bluetooth too... The computer will pair and connect with the droid via bluetooth, but when I try to use Windows Explorer to browse the files on the droid, it pops up on the laptop with "service not available".) It seems that my external harddrive seems to have something personal against my Droid...But I never had this problem on my old laptop (which ran Windows Vista).
I normally cannot see DroidX SD Card files from Windows Explorer, just the DevLogo and DevIcon files. Is this because the card has a Linux filesystem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have mentioned it in a couple of other threads, but here is the gist of it:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/16333
It simply will not pair.
I removed the old Samsung device, rebooted the computer and the DROID - no go. I even added the Alias back to the computer and they paired perfectly fine. Therefore, the dongle (since it is a mini dongle, do I call it a dingle?) the computer and my BT stack on my computer are working perfectly fine. This is the same computer that I have been using with my Alias to sync with BitPIM, and I have been using BitPIM since I got the alias roughly 2 years ago (yeah, I have every text message ever sent and received on that phone in BitPIM....)
I simply cannot understand why the DROID will not pair. I get an invalid pass key or PIN error if I try to sync from the DROID side and the operation failed if I try to sync from Windows.
Ever weirder, I can pair the Alias to the DROID - although they won't connect, I get through the pairing process perfectly fine, with the Alias prompting me to enter a PIN, and then the DROID prompting me to re-enter the PIN. I then tried it from the DROID side and it sees the Alias there but will not attempt to connect to it after pairing.
Why is the pairing process mucking up in Windows?
I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Leo Laporte and the TWiT network. He has a show on there called "Windows Weekly". The host of the show is obviously a windows guy and has been raving about the new Windows Phone 7 for the past few weeks. Well, his work forced him to use a work phone and they sent him a Droid X. He basically says Android wins but it is a good watch. You can find the episode here: The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte. They start talking about the phone at 20:30 of the show.

It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.
I just bought a SanDisk 32gb microSDHC card to replace the 16gb which came with my Droid-X. I have explored it some using the Astro free file browser found in the Android Market. It seems that the filesystem is some form of Linux/Unix (EXT/EXT2/EXT3).
How can I copy everything from the existing 16gb card to the new 32gb card using a Windows pc?
It's one thing to read/write from/to the card from a Windows PC while the card is still in the Droid. It's another thing to read/write from/to it while the card is mounted in a reader on the Windows PC. I am concerned about screwing up file permissions, privileges, the structure and getting all hidden files.
Since installing the OTA froyo update I cannot use windows media sync with my computer anymore. I am using windows XP and when i plug the phone into my laptop it comes up as a digital camera and will not show up in windows media player as a device to sync with.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a Droid X that I'm trying to connect to my PC, which is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I plugged the USB cable into the computer, then into the phone, and nothing happened. The phone does not show up in "My Computer."
I've tried several different USB ports, with the same result.
I loaded the Motorola Drivers (found here), rebooted, reconnected the phone, and still nothing.
I've tried opening Media Share, selected "Computer", "Copy", "USB"...and then on the step when I'm supposed to "Enable Memory Card Management," I press the button, select "PC Mode", "OK", "Next", and then I'm told that "Memory Card Management mode must be turned on to continue." (The same thing happens when I select "Windows Media Sync" or "USB Mass Storage".)
Am I missing something, here? Is there a setting that I need to enable on my phone in order to make it visible to Windows?
Im new to the forums here, I have a Droid currently running Froyo and I have been thinking about rooting my phone. I recently picked up and Apple IBook G3 and I was curious if I will have any problems rooting on the Apple OSX. The main reason I'm asking is because I have noticed that some roots require using the command prompt in Windows. I did search the forums for anything I could find but didn't really find anything useful.
The root I am planning on using is Soup or Root. This will be my first endeavor in to Rooting. PS- Mods if I posted this in the wrong place please move it to the correct one
