Android :: Plugins Not Working In Eclipse On Windows 7 64bit

On my brand new Windows 7 machine, I downloaded Eclipse (Galileo) and several Eclipse plugins (Android's ADT plugin, Subclipse, etc.) After rebooting, neither of these plugins are showing up in the IDE (nothing in the preferences, menus, etc.) but if I click "Installation Details" in the 'About Eclipse' popup, I see all of the plugins listed as Installed Software. (ex. Android DDMS 0.9.5, Subclipse 1.6.5, etc.) How do I get my plugins to work?

I am attempting to pull an image from an unknown android device. I am running into a few issues:
When I attempt to pull the image by using the command in ADB : dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk1 of =/sdcard/boot.img I get the error write Error: File too large.
This happens when getting to the 4.0 GB mark, (assuming this is an issue with FAT32)
Is there an adb command to do a rom dump directly to my PC? Is there an application?

I got a huge problem with the Android Development Tools ADT running in Eclipse Galileo (3.5.1) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit.On this platform, I do not manage to see any property edit dialogs for layout properties. E.g. the one where you can select a string resource ID for text fields, or a drawable ID for image fields or backgrounds.Whenever I click on the button next to the property value - nothing happens, except this button disappears.Properties with a list of possible values, e.g. "wrap_content" or "fill_parent" are displayed in a dropdown box directly in the properties field.On a different system I work in a Windows environment with Eclipse 3.4 and the same ADT: no problems whatsoever, everything works fine, the dialogs come perfectly.Does anyone know what to do here? Where's the problem? Why does Eclipse not tell me that something goes wrong?

I have had my Droid 2 weeks and love it. But I can not get it to sync with my Dell XPS Windows 7, 64 bit computer. I've been to 3 different Verizon stores and they have no idea what to do. It will sync with XP and Windows 7-32 bit. I have downloaded the Motorola 4.6.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 64-bit versions of Windows�). When I connect to my computer, it acts like it will connect and sometimes it does for a couple of minutes then the drive just disappears. I have marked "Debugging". I have Googled and tried everything out there with no luck.

I download android source and build a sdk from it (via make sdk). I have also installed ADT on my eclipse. My question is how can I setup ADT to point to the SDK that i built (it keeps saying it can't find the 'tool' directory and then it can't find the 'adb' under tool).

I have Win7 32-bit at home and my china phone can be detected and usb drivers were loaded but when im at the office using Win7 64bit, i keep on getting a hardware malfunction error.
We are using here Dell Optiplex 3010 Desktop while at home im using an assembled CPU.

I've downloaded the Eclipse and ADT plugins for the SDK. My question is of the most basic kind, where is Eclipse supposed to be installed? It's a ZIP instead of an executable installer, so I'm left to figure out what folder to unzip it to.

It simply will not pair.
I removed the old Samsung device, rebooted the computer and the DROID - no go. I even added the Alias back to the computer and they paired perfectly fine. Therefore, the dongle (since it is a mini dongle, do I call it a dingle?) the computer and my BT stack on my computer are working perfectly fine. This is the same computer that I have been using with my Alias to sync with BitPIM, and I have been using BitPIM since I got the alias roughly 2 years ago (yeah, I have every text message ever sent and received on that phone in BitPIM....)
I simply cannot understand why the DROID will not pair. I get an invalid pass key or PIN error if I try to sync from the DROID side and the operation failed if I try to sync from Windows.
Ever weirder, I can pair the Alias to the DROID - although they won't connect, I get through the pairing process perfectly fine, with the Alias prompting me to enter a PIN, and then the DROID prompting me to re-enter the PIN. I then tried it from the DROID side and it sees the Alias there but will not attempt to connect to it after pairing.
Why is the pairing process mucking up in Windows?

I've tried to search for similar problems, but can't seem to find it.
I run:
Windows 7
Java SE Developement Kit x64
Eclipse Helios (downloaded here from Eclipses homepage --> Downloads --> Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers --> 64 Bit)
"Android SDK Windows"
I've been following the guide from the Android Developers homepage.
I can launch Eclipse just fine. Under Help --> Install New Software ...
Here, I give it a name myself (Android Plugin Test), and under location, I've typed "http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse", as said in the link.
Then it find Developement Kit, and I install it and all that & restart Eclipse.
The following are now installed:
- Android DDMS
- Android Development Tools
- Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers
So everything seems fine.
BUT ..
When I go to Window --> Preferences, "Android" is missing.
I have no problems seeing General, Ant, Data Management etc.
So my question is, what's the problem ?
As said, I downloaded Android SDK, but when I try to run the setup, I get this error, about missing Java:
And that's where I'm lost.
Because, under installed programs, it says:
- Java(TM) SE Developement Kit 6 Update 21 (64-bit)
And yes, I have restarted after installing Java.
For some odd reason, it's not possible for to run the SDK setup with any compatibility. It's greyed out
(Yes, I'm admin, and I don't have any problems on other programs)
I checked the Requirements for Android SDK, and it says Windows XP & Vista, but not 7 .. But as far as I know, other people got it to work.

I am having a lot of problem getting Eclipse with Android plug-in to work on Windows 7 64K. I am getting eclipse not responding a lot. It seem to happen pretty randomly. I know that Windows 7 is currently not support for Android SDK.
However has anyone got this to work ?
I am using the following:
- Windows 7 64K
- eclipse galileo (3.5.2)
- JDK 1.6.0_21 64k

When I give the path in Eclipse for the SDK 1.5,it gives the error message no android.jar found.
When i gave the path as the ~android-sdk-windows-1.5_preplatformsandroid-1.5 then i get the error message "toolsadb.exe" not found.

Currently I am going through a Sams learn Android SDK in 24 hours book and cannot get past the first hour! As I mentioned before, I have read all suggestions I could find on the gen folder error and I have done the clean without the build all, I have removed gen and then did a build all, I have set the permissions on this folder to be NON read only and made sure that the version of SDK is ticked under the Java Build path option on the projects properties.This is a clean install of eclipse and Androids SDK and I have followed the instructions carefully.In addition to this, I find eclipse/Androids SDK unstable, for example, double clicking on the strings.xml causes eclipse to lock up and then I have to reboot or shutdown. As and when I do get to the Android Resources screen for the strings.xml I get this error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
Please can someone help as I really want to learn this language but at the moment, not getting any further than hello world.

I have a problem getting the Android SDK to work on my new Windows 7 computer. The ADT plugin in Eclipse will not open, when I run SDK setup.exe I do get a window, but settings wont get saved and the app disappears. When I click 'New' in the virtual devices pane. When I run android.bat from a command prompt I get the following error:

I just bought the Motorola Milestone for about a week. Initially when I added the Calender as a Widget to my home screen, there is a little open window showing my next appointment(s) for the day or next day. However, I accidentally trashed it and when I tried to add it back to my home screen again, I am unable to get the same and the Calender merely appears as a little icon. Is there any particular setting that I may have missed out?

I'm using a Windows 8 Pro and somehow my fastboot usb isn't working. It installed Android 1.0, but nothing happened after that. I can't flash any kernel with this. Everytime I go fastboot, there's no usb indication, but when I press volume button up or down it states fastboot usb but still can't flash anything.

I tried to use traceview on a computer with a 64bit processor, the error I get is "architecture word width mismatch": I do use the 64bit version of Eclipse for development, I know SWT works on my computer. What do I need to do to make traceview work on my computer?
