Android : How To Connect Motorola Droid To Windows Xp Based PC?
Feb 17, 2010New user here. I am trying to get windows xp to recognize the sd card on my droid, is there a way to do this? Also is there any windows based software that is similar to the blackberry desktop manager? Tried to search for this answer but only found solutions for windows 7.

May 6, 2010I have a Windows 7 x64 home premium computer and an Android HTC Magic running CyanogenMod (ver 1.6).I am looking for an easy to use remote desktop application.Requirements:
- Does not have to be "fancy", i.e. I only want to control my computer from my phone with my mouse.
- Needs to be FREE
- Easy configuration. Up until now, whatever program I have tried seems to be blocked by something (most likely my Windows Firewall) and I have been unable to make it work.
- Step by step guide please, I'm a noob to this and I need help.

Jul 18, 2010im trying to remotely access my pc. I have windows 7 ultra and have enabled remote sharing and disabled all firewalls. And turned off all antivirus/firewall programs. I have also opened port 3390. The good news is i can detect and begin to connect to my designated pc. Unfortunantly as soon as it conects it says logging off. And an error pops up saying, "connection reset".

Apr 24, 2012I would like to run .exe files for Windows (Desktop) PC on android.
I know most of you would say it's not possible, but I don't care if you say that. Everything is possible in this world. You just have to want it.
Most important reasons why it shouldn't work:
- EXEs are compiled for Windows
- CPU commands are different to the x86 processors
- WinAPI isn't available on Android
The application I want to run, will run on a couple of houndred of (Tablet) devices, a remote connection is not the way to go. The application is private, and not available on the market. There is no other application that could replace it.
Any VM for Android, or an other solution -> Performance doesn't matter!
For the beginning I want to try to run a small windows application, like notepad.exe on android devices. Besides of that there is also a way to run Win98 on Android. I havent tested it yet tho.

Apr 15, 2013I have Sony Xperia S running Android and i am wondering if it is possible to modify the boot loader to accept windows ISO from USB stick or from internal storage? or is it possible to somehow convert windows desktop ISO into a ROM somehow? the reason i am asking is because i like the unrestricted features of windows and the ability to run .EXE on my phone would be brilliant and being able to use skype for group calls which is not featured on android yet.

Mar 18, 2013I have been trying to find for a few weeks an app to fit my specific need. I am looking for an app to solelydisplay my windows desktop's video output on my Android handset.
I have tried VNC VPN remote desktops and they are way too slow (about 5 fps on my Xperia Play)
I don't want entertainment folder streaming, as I want to display pc games and video, just so long as I can see the entire screen scaled to fit device resolution, 1366 x 768 -> 854 x 480.
I have tried VNC like TeamViewer and IDisplay and they are too slow on the fps, even on lower resolution.
I don't want a remote desktop, interactivity slowing it down, just a duplicate video output of the desktop. No audio.
The idea is to Keep my laptop lid closed, but still be able to view the desktop, while using the mouse regularly.
WiFi or USB is fine. If my Xperia Play can stream Youtube over WiFi clearly this is doable?

Dec 1, 2013Having owned 11 different Android phones/tablets since 2010, I have a gazillion apps listed in my Google Play Store account. I know it is possible to individually delete apps from my phone/tablet, but for the love of all things telephony, once you delete an app it takes you back to the frickin' top of the list. I thought there would be a simple way to do this by going to the Play Store on my laptop, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I realize it is not a big deal, but being the obsessive person that I am, once I try to do something.
When I log into my Google Play Store account on my laptop and go to "My Apps", it lists all the apps that I have ever downloaded, but there doesn't appear to be a way to delete them like there is on a device!

It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.

With all my previous android phones I've been able to set up desktop shortcuts to each account so they can be checked separately. With the X, I cannot seem to do this. The email shortcut does not allow me to specify an account, and just shows the default account. I'd really like to continue to use my old system of two account shortcuts.

2 questions:

2. if not, is there an easier way to fix it besides shutting down the phone and restarting it?
