Motorola Droid :: Windows 7 Does Not Recognize My Droid In - Debug Mode

Dec 11, 2009

Just got my Droid today, all the software is setup, the emulator works fine. But, Windows 7 will not recognize my Droid in 'Debug Mode', it did once the first time I clicked on the option but now nothing. Is there something else I should be installing for it to be recognized?

General :: Android USB Debug Mode Works In Windows Not In Ubuntu

Nov 1, 2012

In Ubuntu, I have double checked the udev rules. They all look perfect. (I cross checked using another phone too). The USB debug mode doesn't show up no matter what. And I have the adb_usb.ini in the right place. I have tried running all possible combinations of running adb, adb start-server as root. But

Code:

adb devices shows no devices at all.

However, with the USB debugging option enabled on phone, it worked on Win7 after windows installed a Common handset driver.

If I go back to Ubuntu without disconnecting the cable and do

Code:
$ adb devices
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
1234567890ABCDEFdevice

The product id is 1234567890ABCDEF and I am able to see it and everthing works fine!!But the moment I disconnect the USB cable, its gone.

So I guess it's not the development machine that is at fault. The device seems to be setting a property while in Windows which stays latched till the usb connection goes off.

Btw the Code:

/data/property/persist.service.adb.enable is 1 too.

Motorola Droid X :: Working In PC Mode - Do Something In Windows?

Jul 24, 2010

What is this "PC mode" that comes up as an option when you plug into a computer? Does it do something in windows? I run Ubuntu and it does nothing when I select it. The manual doesn't mention it, at least not the PDF I downloaded. It covers mass storage and windows media sync but not PC Mode.

Motorola Droid X :: Cannot Get ADB To Recognize

Aug 29, 2010

I am running into a weird issue with Ubuntu 10.0.4 and my Droid X. For some reason, I cannot get ADB to recognize the X. Can anyone tell me if there is a config file I need to edit? I have tried everything imaginable. And yes, I do have Win 7, but I want to be able to use Linux, it's personal preference. I have a laptop running Ubuntu that recognizes the X, is there a config file I need to copy?

Android :: Trying To Get USB Debug To Work On Windows 7

Nov 17, 2010

I am using Windows 7 64bit and I am trying to get my computer to detect my HTC Desire, but it's not picking it up. I have everything available installed through the Android Updater and I have got my phone running through Ubuntu, so it is definitely a problem with Windows.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I have a HTC Desire running Stock 2.2 (Froyo) that works with USB Debugging on my Ubuntu machine. Windows does detect that my phone is plugged in. It shows as a mass storage device. I have all the available things installed via the Android Updater.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Windows Can't Recognize Phone

Oct 3, 2010

After successfully sorting out all the troubles of connecting SGS to KIES, and been using it happily for almost a month, now I'm facing another trouble which is quite big this time. Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit) can't recognize the phone when connected through the USB. Got a message says the USB Device/Hardware Is Not Recognized. I'm using the SGS original cable. The cable was working perfectly and now suddenly it doesn't work in data mode but still able to recharge the phone battery. Am I having a cable problem? Or worst, the USB connector (on the phone) problem? I tried to clean the USB connector on the phone but still can't connect the phone to my computers.

Motorola Droid :: Way To Figure Out Whole Debug Bridge?

Mar 22, 2010

I rooted my phone. I have been trying to figure out the whole debug bridge. when I point the cmd to the tools folder and type in adp, i get a message 'adp' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. So let me go over what I have done so far and maybe I'm missing a step. I downloaded the SDK. I extracted it to c:/android. I then opended up the sdk setup. then i updated the package. it downloaded a bunch of stuff. I opened my compand prompt and typed in cd C:androidandroid-sdk-windows ools now according to the guide, at this point I should be able to type in adp and it should give a list of commands. I also tried typing in adp push, adp pull, su, and all that good stuff and I get the same message.

Motorola Droid :: ADB Won't Recognize - USB Drivers Seem To Be Working Fine

Mar 28, 2010

I keep getting error: device not found when I try to use adb with my phone.

~The SDK is installed and working.
~The USB drivers have been downloaded through the SDK.
~The phone is in USB Debug mode.
~The USB drivers have been installed in windows.
~Windows device manager shows that everything is working fine.
~Windows recognizes the phone when it is plugged in.

The ONLY thing that does not work is that the phone won't show up in the list of devices adb sees. Everything else appears to be setup and working just fine!

Samsung Vibrant :: Computer Not Recognize Mounted Device In Windows 7

Nov 28, 2010

I use Windows 7, received my Vibrant a few weeks ago and have been having a great time, but my phone doesn't mount! It mounted the very first time but after making a potential mistake, it stopped. Here's what happened: Yesterday I installed several apps (Beautiful Widgets, WidgetLocker, just for reference), and for the first time since receiving my handheld, wanted to add some files to it via my pc. I connected my Android as usual only to find that while both the phone & sd card were recognized on my computer, both contained no records, which was obviously a glitch.

I then tried unmounting my phone, and screwed up by selecting for my phone to be a media device rather than mass storage. Windows began searching for the device drivers, was unable to find them, and gave the message: "device driver software was not successfully installed." And now, whether mounted or not, windows no longer recognizes my phone's storage. My Android however, has no problems going from mounted to unmounted. However, I have tried connecting my phone to two other computers and none recognize my device.

Motorola Droid :: Froyo Wont Play - Recognize Mp4 Movies

Aug 1, 2010

I'm currently running Bugless Beast V.04 on my Droid1. I just noticed that since I started running the Froyo 2.2 build on my phone that I've lost the ability to play any of my Mp4 movies that I have on my SD card. The movies are formatted for the Droid and worked fine on the stock 2.1 video/ media player. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if its the ROM or is just a different video player all together with the 2.2 builds so they can use the flash player. Flash works flawlessly and YouTube still works ( at least it loads quicker ) but when I try to play a movie it gives some kind of error code . When I switch to the movie player it says " video cannot be played" ( just like when you tried to play a flash video on 2.1 stock) . Does anyone know if its just because the build of Froyo is not complete and will be fixed when the official OTA is released? If its an oversight by Motorola /Verizon we better keep it quite or they might push the date up again!

Motorola Droid :: Cannot Pair DROID With Windows 7 64bit

Nov 7, 2009

I have mentioned it in a couple of other threads, but here is the gist of it:

https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/16333

It simply will not pair.

I removed the old Samsung device, rebooted the computer and the DROID - no go. I even added the Alias back to the computer and they paired perfectly fine. Therefore, the dongle (since it is a mini dongle, do I call it a dingle?) the computer and my BT stack on my computer are working perfectly fine. This is the same computer that I have been using with my Alias to sync with BitPIM, and I have been using BitPIM since I got the alias roughly 2 years ago (yeah, I have every text message ever sent and received on that phone in BitPIM....)

I simply cannot understand why the DROID will not pair. I get an invalid pass key or PIN error if I try to sync from the DROID side and the operation failed if I try to sync from Windows.

Ever weirder, I can pair the Alias to the DROID - although they won't connect, I get through the pairing process perfectly fine, with the Alias prompting me to enter a PIN, and then the DROID prompting me to re-enter the PIN. I then tried it from the DROID side and it sees the Alias there but will not attempt to connect to it after pairing.

Why is the pairing process mucking up in Windows?

He basically says Android wins but it is a good watch. You can find the episode here: The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte. They start talking about the phone at 20:30 of the show.
