Whenever someone text messages me I hear "Droi Droid". It is alerting me twice for one message. I think it could be because I have Handcent, and both Handcent and the default messenger are alerting me. Anyone know how I disable the default messenger?

I have had my Droid X for about a week and cannot figure out how to get the phone to vibrate when a txt/chat/email arrives when the phone is set to silent. I have checked all the setting and vibrate is checked everwhere and the phone still does not vibrate when a new alert come in. any thoughts?

The phone will vibrate for calls... Rooted, running the latest Lithium Mod ROM with Chevy's ulv 1.2 kernel. I have no other issues with the phone and the ROM/kernel configuration have worked very well!

I'm getting texts and that's it. Gmail isn't working with new emails also not getting facebook. Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. Could this be the same reason my facebook and twitter apps aren't refreshing automatically?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen recieving incoming calls message on screen when call is showing on device screen it shows system message : ["blacklisted incoming number"] {not exact message, but similiar...}. This is happened a couple of times so it is not a fluke. The calls work at first, but after this you cant recieve calls from that number. There is no setting or list to remove or edit the blacklist "feature".

Because when I get a new text, Hand cent will post an icon in the notification panel and there will always be another notification icon next to it, I think it is the stock app doing that. If I could set specific alerts it would be perfect. I like to have a few people alert me via sound then the rest just silent. I'm sure there's a way to do it I just haven't found the right app yet.

Whenever I put my phone on "vibrate", it kicks my phone into silent mode for all other alerts, so I never know when I get text msgs or chats. If I go into the settings and uncheck the Silent Mode, it takes my phone's ringer off of vibrate mode. So.... what I'm looking to have happen is to have my phone on vibrate only, and recieve my other alerts as vibrate as well.

I have the tmobile cliq, have had it for about half the year now and I am quite pleased with it. Now on to my problem. I use Facebook a lot. Probably like 10 times a day at least just to look through status updates. I originally had my notifications set to email me on the phone when I'd get a notification, which was working fine, except for the whole yahoo takes 15 mins to refresh for new email checking thing. So i decided, well. Okay, I'll just set it to not email me, and text me instead. So I was getting text messages every time I got a friend request, wall post, comment, message, anything. i was really pleased with this because I'd be getting my notifications instantly. About a week ago this changed, I started to get less and less notifications via text.I would have to physically go into the app and then see that i had ten or so notifications, which should have all been texted to me. This is upsetting! Does anyone else have this problem, or know why this is happening? I actually remember this happening with my blackberry curve previously as well, after a while I wuold stop getting notifications, and I don't know if its the phone or if Tmobile just sucks. I tried unchecking all the notifications on facebook, saving the changes, then resetting my phone, turning it on, and re-checking the notifications sent via text option, for about an hour I was getting a few notifications as soon as I'd post something, but then poof it stopped again.Please let me know if you have this problem and have found a solution or have spoken to anyone in customer service at tmobile and theyve told you there are some kind of outtages.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

Person X is in my contact list
I want sound file Y to play when I get a phone call from X
I want sound file Z to play when I get a text from X
(Note: For clarification Y and Z are not the same file. The sound file Z should be different depending on the person also. In other words can I set costume text alerts per person).
When you look at the contact in 'people' there is a setting for 'ring tone' I am not sure if this is just for incoming calls or if this is also for incoming texts from this person.
as an end user, can I surpress sms alerts in the notification bar on android 2.1 (alert - but not show the first line of text)? Is there a phone setting? Or an app out there that allows this choice?
