So when I receive a text, the notification sound plays BUT it also plays some Lady GaGa song from my mp3s! I use the default messaging app and default media player. How can I fix this?

It doesn't matter what profile I have selected not that I have chosen which notification sound I want, it just starts playing a random song from my music collection. That in itself isn't so bad but what winds me up more than anything is that I have to interact with the phone to stop the tune from playing. Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be. It's on Orange running 2.1 and my ringtones etc are done through Zedge

I have just purchased the X10 Mini Pro. I have attached a song I have downloaded for my text message notification. The song plays when I receive a message, but once I have read my message the song still carries on playing, it plays until it gets to the end of the song.

I can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

When I go to change the notification ringtone in the settings, the ringtones that I have on the SD card don't show up, only the stock ringtones show up. I have tried the main settings, Handcent SMS settings, and the defualt Messages settings. Nothing works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Handcent but that didn't help either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Triumph (running CM7) and stream music via Bluetooth to my Sony DSX-S300BTX head unit in my car. The quality and consistency of the audio is flawless and can also use my head unit to change tracks and pause/play music with no issue. I recently began using Google Music on my PC and it made sense to use the Android app for accessibility purposes. The only drawback I have experienced is that the artist and song title info is no longer shown on my car stereo. This functionality worked perfectly using my previous phone (WP7 LG Quantum w/ Zune Pass) and on my current Triumph with the stock music app packaged with any version of CM7. I download and listen to quite a bit of new music and this functionality is pretty much a must have feature for my primary music app.
The only workaround I have thought of would be to sync music via the Google Music app and then listen to it via the stock music app. This is less than ideal due to the fact it involves 2 apps and takes away the option to stream music not downloaded to my phone. Also, the Google Music app has a much nicer UI compared to the stock app. If you don't know of a specific fix, but have some knowledge of A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles.
Let me preface this by saying I am a 48-hours deep Android NOOB, so I apologize if the solution to this is something unbelievably simple that I have just overlooked. I don't think it is, because I am very experienced with WinMo, BB, and WebOS and don't usually pull NOOB type moves.
So, I have a Droid Eris. Actually, I have two. Well, I have one and she has one, anyway. I have had no trouble with hooking mine up to the computer with USB, mounting it, and moving files back and forth. One of the first things I did was load files on.
When I try and hook hers up, I plug it in with the same USB cable (one of the cables that came with them, btw), mount it, and nothing happens. It isn't recognized by the computer. The first time I did this with her phone, I had a little balloon pop up on the task bar that said something about "installing HTC Dream".
If I go to my computer tho, nothing is there that could be the phone. I checked my device manager in the control panel, and under "ADB Interface" i have HTC Dream listed. This is as far as I have gotten with this. This all came about because she couldn't figure out how to set the theme song from the office as her tone for text messaging. I hooked it up to the computer to try and see if I could move the file into a different folder to try and set it, and ran into this f-stick of a problem.
After applying SRE v1.2.3 (…… SRE v1.2.3… | Root + OC 1.2GHz + MobileAP + USB Tether + LagFix - xda-developers), my notification ringtone sucks. I have changed it many times but it still plays the "cloud" ringtone. Any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else experience SERIOUS lag while recieving SMS? My phone will literally freeze for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute while it processes an incoming SMS. The problem is terribly worse if I am recieving multiple messages simultaneously.I am currently using Handcent SMS(NEW) with the quick reply on.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm new here, new to forums period, but I thought I would give this a shot. I have the tmobile cliq, have had it for about half the year now and I am quite pleased with it. Now on to my problem. I use Facebook a lot. Probably like 10 times a day at least just to look through status updates. I originally had my notifications set to email me on the phone when I'd get a notification, which was working fine, except for the whole yahoo takes 15 mins to refresh for new email checking thing. So i decided, well. Okay, I'll just set it to not email me, and text me instead. So I was getting text messages every time I got a friend request, wall post, comment, message, anything. i was really pleased with this because I'd be getting my notifications instantly. About a week ago this changed, I started to get less and less notifications via text.I would have to physically go into the app and then see that i had ten or so notifications, which should have all been texted to me. This is upsetting! Does anyone else have this problem, or know why this is happening? I actually remember this happening with my blackberry curve previously as well, after a while I wuold stop getting notifications, and I don't know if its the phone or if Tmobile just sucks. I tried unchecking all the notifications on facebook, saving the changes, then resetting my phone, turning it on, and re-checking the notifications sent via text option, for about an hour I was getting a few notifications as soon as I'd post something, but then poof it stopped again.Please let me know if you have this problem and have found a solution or have spoken to anyone in customer service at tmobile and theyve told you there are some kind of outtages.

Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. I have not had any problems with it and it is actually really fast and I have not had any lag on it yet but I did have my first problem yesterday. For some reason my phone stopped recieving texts but i would be able too send them and my friends would get them but i still would not recieve any of their texts. I tried texting allow all to 9999 but still nothing so i did a soft reset and it worked! btw im using handcent and neither handcent or the stock messaging app would recieve texts but i did have over 120+ up hours and an awake time of 20%. would that have to do with anything? im not rooted and i did uninstall recent apps to see if that was the cause but it was not but has anyone had this problem?

Have my business line diverted to my mobile and with past (cheap & basic) mobile phones on the same carrier, the number of the caller would come up with an icon which indicated that it was a diverted call. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

One thing about my phones is that I use WiFi more a lot. When I seem to have wifi on and someone sends me a picture through text, it wont download the picture unless I turn WiFi off. Is there anything I can do to change this? Is this happeneing to everybody? The EVO you could have wifi on and it would still download pictures and what not. After I have exited the the view that created the LocationListener I am still getting log messages in the LogCat window. I understand that this is because I am orphaning the listener but I cannot see any destory method on the LocationListener nor can I see any "remove listener" style methods on the LocationManager object.
