I just got my droid. Switching over from a storm and with the storm i could set contact alerts for text messages and separate ringtones for when they call with the droid i have found there is only one text message alert and you cannot set individual alerts for text messages.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone tell me if there is a way to customize all the individual notifications (email, facebook, twitter, text)?I've looked through the phone and it looks like they group all the notifications together.Also, coming from blackberry, I was used to getting notifications at the top of the screen for facebook, twitter, email, pageonce and other apps that had PUSH information. Is there any way to do that too? I'm also trying to look into the TelusStone flash.I've done a search and haven't come up with much. Does anyone have some info or feedback on it as far as what it does and takes away?
View 7 Replies View Relatedon my storm I was not only able to set an individual ringtone for my contacts I was also able to set an individual text message tone for them as well. Is there any way to do this on the droid or a third party program available?Also, these are very simple. Is there any way or app out there that when i plug my phone in it will make a full screen clock like it does on blackberries? (in the picture of the phone in the media dock--that I don't have it shows something similar to what I want) Next, How do I choose different ringtones for my alarms. There are not that many to choose from in the list and I don't like any of them. Oh actually and I just thought of another one:some of my contacts are not linked to my facebook contacts, some are, how do I manually add facebook to a contact. (I only know of hitting the sync button on facebook, but that doesn't have any manual select setting)

I have checked all the setting and vibrate is checked everwhere and the phone still does not vibrate when a new alert come in. any thoughts?

Is there any way to separate alerts for text messages and email? I've called Verizon Support and looked for apps without success. I don't care when I get an email but I have missed several texts because the alert tone is the same and I just ignored it thinking it was more unimportant email.

The phone will vibrate for calls... Rooted, running the latest Lithium Mod ROM with Chevy's ulv 1.2 kernel. I have no other issues with the phone and the ROM/kernel configuration have worked very well!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI missed mytouch from when I had tmobile and got the Samsung intercept from sprint(back to my old plan) and I love it. However I've always loved on sprint phones being able to customize absolutely everything. I could make a ringer for someone when they call(which yes, I know how to do this on my android and have) but I also was able to make a special text/sms/notification ringtone for individuals as well. I only like hearing the message alert for certain people and then silent/vibrate for everyone else so it's getting frustrating. Are there any apps that do this? or any way to at all?

How can I color code individual rows in a ListView exactly like it is done in the native MESSAGING app? I do NOT want to simply do alternating rows, but I want to copy the format used in the MESSAGING app, where message rows have a different background color based on the username of the message. FYI: I am currently extending SimpleAdapter and overriding getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) . In this method I am trying to calculate setting the background color based on the position as compared to a list of 'positions to highlight' that I am maintaining each time I update the list, but so far this is only working the first time the list is updated. In class that overrides SimpleAdapter:

I have a ListView with the fast scroll enabled. The background of the listview is white and the text is black. The box indicating the letter of the section is being scrolled at the moment is in black. Is it possible to customize that color and turn to white? If yes, how can I do that?

Because when I get a new text, Hand cent will post an icon in the notification panel and there will always be another notification icon next to it, I think it is the stock app doing that. Now I have set Hand cent as my default messaging app and I am running the 2.1 v3 leak.

My old phones would 'remember' the volume level for the different devices used. Its very annoying to have one single volume setting. For example, I usually have the speaker phone volume all the way up, then when I answer a call, the earpiece volume is deafening. Same when I plug in my wired headset at home.

I can run anything. I'm just looking for a way to individually sync facebook contacts to existing phone contacts. I don't need all 1000 of my fb friends on my phone. But the contacts I DO have on my phone, it'd be cool to have synced up to fb. Is there any way to avoid the "all or nothing" mentality of fb sync?
