I've transfered ringtones from my PC to the Droid X, but can't for the life of me figure out how to assign a particular ringtone to a particular contact. I've read some of the threads about other models of phones but the solutions there don't work with the X.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince i root my Hero I'm facing with a many problems: one is I can't assign ring tones to my contacts. i was trying any ring tone from my music, from zedge download, but useless. in contact details is showing the chosen ring tone, but when is calling it will ring default! any advices? does somebody facing with this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedTotally new to "smart phones" and feeling pretty dumb right now I have managed to download a bunch of sounds (mpga) and saved them in my "sounds" folder on my Captivate. And following advice, have gone into my Contacts, scrolled down, and assigned a file as ringtone, then hit "Save". When viewing the contact, it shows the file as being assigned as their ringtone. And then when the call comes in.... Rings as default. Whats going on? Do the sounds have to be in the Ringtone folder? If yes, how do I do that? If no, what am I doing wrong?

The Eris automatically linked FACEBOOK pictures, but some of the people in my address book do not have FaceBook. I tried looking at the GMail contact, but I did not see a place to add pics. View 1 Replies View RelatedI had this problem in 2.1v2, I installed v3, and it first, all was well, then yesterday I noticed the same thing...none of my custom set ring tones are being used. phone always rings with the system default.
I can change that, and it rings that tone, but any I assign to a contact don't work.
I haven't installed any ring tone managers or anything, I can't think of what would be messing with it, but it is friggin annoying!
I normally don't like making new threads to ask questions about stuff if the info is already out there, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for anywhere. I've googled and done searches and manually looked through the threads here on AF I even checked the documentation the X came with. My Fiancee just got the X and was setting it up and she was looking for a way to set up individual ringtones for certain contacts the way she had them set up on her Droid but there doesn't seem to be an option to do it on the X. Does anyone happen to know anything about this?

I can set the general ringtone, but not any contact-specific ringtones.The manual (page 21) says it is doable: "Tip: When editing a contact, you can set a ringtone, address, and other details that will be saved on your phone."but I find nothing in the edit contact screen that lets me select a ringtone for it.Can anyone give me the steps?

I have a "Ringtones" folder on my SD with my own, but the ROMs carry theirs internally and once you change ROMs, so do the ringtones. I haven't looked yet, but would they possibly be in the ROM zip file and could I just pull them out of the zip to my computer? I guess I will look now, but let me know if this is the right way or if something else works better. Ultimately I would like to pull off all system ringtones so I can condense to my own and ones I have selected. It's overwhelming sometimes given that I don't and won't ever use 70% of the stock tones.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a SF about a week ago, and am loving it! I rooted within 30 mins of leaving the store, and wanted to downclock the phone when the screen is off. I've been reading a bit, and apparently the Fascinate downclocks automatically to 100MHz by itself? Can anyone confirm this for me please? I tried setting the screen off profile on SetCPU to 200MHz, but noticed my phone freezing up in standby mode. Nothing would wake it up, except a battery pull. I tried bumping up the speed to 400MHz, same effect. I noticed the problem became worse and worse since I've installed it. I had to stop using SetCPU. The problem went away after I stopped using it. I was using SetCPU 2.00 I believe.Also, another question. Is there anyway to set custom ringtones for individual contacts? I don't see the option anywhere.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Just the default ringtone every time.Any ideas/thoughts? Doesn't seem to be a big enough issue to cause a stir yet, thus I haven't seen any helpful threads on the subject.
