View 2 RepliesMy ph is only recognizing part of the ringtone i brought over from my BB can this be fixed, there are all in the same folder:/mnt/sdcard/ringtones, and if i select a ringtone in that folder i don't have a option to make it a ringtone. I cant find a way to change my text message notice either to a custom ringtone is this possible.
View 1 Replies View Relatedon my storm I was not only able to set an individual ringtone for my contacts I was also able to set an individual text message tone for them as well. Is there any way to do this on the droid or a third party program available? Also, these are very simple. Is there any way or app out there that when i plug my phone in it will make a full screen clock like it does on blackberries? (in the picture of the phone in the media dock--that I don't have it shows something similar to what I want) Next, How do I choose different ringtones for my alarms. There are not that many to choose from in the list and I don't like any of them. Oh actually and I just thought of another one:some of my contacts are not linked to my facebook contacts, some are, how do I manually add facebook to a contact. (I only know of hitting the sync button on facebook, but that doesn't have any manual select setting)

View 11 Replies View RelatedSomeone sent me a picture attached to a text message. With my old phone I could save these pictures to the memory card and transfer them off of the phone. I can't find a way to save the picture to the Droid, and connecting the phone to my PC and browsing the contents of the Droid doesn't reveal the picture anywhere
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am thinking there is probably a solution to this but I am unable to find it. When you are on the phone and receive a text I do not get any sort of alert. Previous phones would give me a beep or something to let me know I had gotten a text. However if your phone is set to vibrate as well as ring when you get a text the vibrations still go off but without any noise. It wouldnt be a big deal except the vibrate noise apparently is very audible and annoying to whoever you are on the phone with. I am one of the few who really like the stock messaging application so I am not using hancent or anything like that. Any ideas would be appreciated
View 1 Replies View RelatedGo into your phone contacts and pick a contact you have texted. On the open field below the contact, slide to the right and you will see a list of every text message you have sent and received from that person even if you deleted the messages!
Delete contact and re-enter the contact.
Supposedly to be fixed with an update?
Un-frickenbelievable!
Some of the crap and goofy stuff I tell my friends, I don't want on the phone.
Ive searched through the forums, and no one seems to have this exact question. When everyone other than my girlfriend texts me, my phone vibrates and plays the notification sound. Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. The only thing I could think of is that I gave my girlfriend a custom ringtone I made with ringdroid, but that wouldn't make any sense since its for a call, not a text. Please help me, shes getting mad at me when I respond 2 hours later.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy won't the phone vibrate for text message alerts??? I'm using handcent, I've tried audio manager. All the settings appear to be correct. The phone will vibrate for calls... Rooted, running the latest Lithium Mod ROM with Chevy's ulv 1.2 kernel. I have no other issues with the phone and the ROM/kernel configuration have worked very well!

View 21 Replies View RelatedHave the warning message "phone storage space getting low"
Have 11G of 14 on SD card, but only 25MB free on internal phone storage.
Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.
Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but
I keep getting texts, the phone vibrates , which it wasn't set to do, and says 'text memory full'. I am assuming it is vibrating to give me a warning.
Can I clear some of the text memory, or must I clear all of it. And if so for either, how do I do this.
I have moved apps to sd card that makes sense.
How can I free up more space.
i have been trying to send myself some new ringtones on my new htc hero. I have tried using both text and gmail.I cant save the attachment. It shows it is there but i can find no place to save it.

How do we set a text message ringtone? When we text, all we get is a goofy little chime and the phones vibrate. I'll never hear that thing in my purse.I went to settings>notifications and set a soundbite I want to use after transferring it to the media>notifications folder, and when I get e-mails, it worked. But not for texting.
Also, what forum do I use for the double time? What is rooting, and do we need to do it? We got the phones through AT&T and they work fine so far. Also, we have wifi at home- does that still count against our 3g plan when we're using that to access the market while trying to figure this out?
I wanted to install the R2D2 sounds onto my Droid X. How do I go about doing that? I've installed the R2D2 boot animation, and now I want all of the sounds from that ROM onto my phone without the actual ROM. The only things I even care about are the sounds and the boot animation.
View 20 Replies View RelatedThe only thing I miss about the Blackberry is being able to have each Contact have a different ringtone for each service. My husband had 2 different ringtones. One for calls, one for texts.Iand so on for everyone. All my contacts had 2 or 3 different ringtones for each of them depending on what was cominng through.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow would one go about doing this with a Droid 2? I'm trying to add them so I can set ringtones for individual contacts, so when they call, I know who is calling me. I have tones already picked out and saved to my Gmail account. I thought I would be able to set them from there, but it turns out that's not possible. I used to be able to do this on my LG Chocolate.I had sent the tones I wanted using a service called Mobile17.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I set my phone to vibrate, it will only vibrate when I get a phone call, not when I get a text or email. I saw some solutions for the Droid, but not the Droid X. I am not sure if the solutions are the same. Also, when it is on ring, it rings and vibrates, not just rings. Any suggestions? My main concern it getting it to vibrate when I get messages, I am not too concerned about the ring/vibrate thing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't know if its a sign I have a lot of stuff on my phone or what but it annoys me when I click the green messaging icon on the phone and it stalls for a second or two before opening or if I had been texting person A and I get another text from person B, when I tap the green icon it will open back up the Texting thread from person A instead! In that case, I have to exit out of all conversations before I can see the new text coming in from Person B!

View 6 Replies View RelatedRingdroid is great is you have the song. But if I download a ringtone - it comes as an MP3 attached to a text message. There is no media icon I can see that I can click/hold in order to have the option to save the MP3.
So, how can a save an MPS that comes in attached to a text message ?
I want to add some custom ringtones. Ringdroid and Ring Extender both do a nice job, but you need to have the song in order to make a ringtone. I have downloaded ringtones that came as MP3 attachments to a text message. But, I cannot figure out how to save those MP3's. There's no media icon I can click and hold. If I try menu while it's playing - it just backs me out of it, and if I try menu before playing it I just get the usual SMS reply options.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is my first smart phone. Very pleased with it so far. But Is there a setting Im missing somewhere. When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.

View 10 Replies View Relatedthis phone is pretty sweet with all that it can do but my major issue is with texting. I use handcent and every once in a while if I get a text and I unlock my phone and open the message before it stops vibrating ill see the first few words on the preview bar but when the handcent finnaly opens the message wont be there. its happend to me prolly 10 times now and kinda sucks asking people to resend the message. It only seems to happen when I open everything quickly, and also once in a while if its doing a function like closing handcent and I hit the power button before it fully closes the phone will restart which also is kinda anoying.
